Zimmerman and The Left's Hatred of Colorblind Justice

Zimmerman Trial
We here at CHQ have stayed out of the business of covering and commenting on the George Zimmerman murder trial.

At the end of the day we knew it would be six obscure individuals from a small city in Florida sitting as jurors -- not the distinguished law professors,  not the media elite’s commentators and not the professional race-baiters -- who would decide Zimmerman’s fate for the killing of Trayvon Martin.

The six jurors have spoken and concluded that Zimmerman’s actions in the killing of Martin did not meet Florida’s statutory test for second degree murder or manslaughter.

What prompts us to finally comment on the Zimmerman trial is that it looks like we were wrong and that Zimmerman’s journey through the Inferno-like racial politics of America’s justice system under Barack Obama has just begun.

Not because Zimmerman was found guilty, but because he was found not guilty.

It turns out that “justice” dispensed by a jury of one’s peers is not good enough for the distinguished law professors, the media elite’s commentators and the professional race-baiters. They long-ago convicted Zimmerman and want his head on a pike, if only to satisfy their own political interests and egos.

Sunday it was disclosed that leaders at the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), the nation's oldest civil rights organization, have spoken with senior members of U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder's staff at the Justice Department about pursuing federal civil rights charges against George Zimmerman.

Back in April of 2012 Attorney General Holder said that, "For a federal hate crime we have to prove the highest standard in the law… Something that was reckless, that was negligent does not meet that standard. We have to show that there was specific intent to do the crime with requisite state of mind."

It would seem that the Florida jury already found that the facts in the case did not meet that test; otherwise they could have, and should have, found Zimmerman guilty of second degree murder.

However, it turns out a federal civil rights investigation that was previously opened in the case has never been closed, and on Saturday a Justice Department spokesman told CNN the agency "continues to evaluate the evidence generated."

We wonder exactly how impartial the Obama – Holder Department of Justice “evaluation” of the evidence in the Zimmerman case is going to be, given that the Department of Justice was eyeball deep in the racially charged protests that led reluctant Florida law enforcement officials to charge Zimmerman in the first place.

As our friends at Judicial Watch documented, the Department of Justice’s Community Relations Service (CRS) appear to have taken an active role in working with those demanding the prosecution of Zimmerman.

According to Judicial Watch, on April 15, 2012, during the height of the protests, the Orlando Sentinel reported, “They [the CRS] helped set up a meeting between the local NAACP and elected officials that led to the temporary resignation of police Chief Bill Lee according to Turner Clayton, Seminole County chapter president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.” The paper quoted the Rev. Valarie Houston, pastor of Allen Chapel AME Church, a focal point for protestors, as saying “They were there for us,” after a March 20 meeting with CRS agents.

Separately, in response to a Judicial Watch request under Florida’s Sunshine Law to the City of Sanford, an audio recording of a “community meeting” held at Second Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Sanford on April 19, 2012, was obtained. The meeting, which led to the ouster of Sanford’s Police Chief Bill Lee, was scheduled after a group of college students calling themselves the “Dream Defenders” barricaded the entrance to the police department demanding Lee be fired.  According to the Orlando Sentinel, DOJ employees with the CRS had arranged a 40-mile police escort for the students from Daytona Beach to Sanford.

“These documents detail the extraordinary intervention by the Justice Department in the pressure campaign leading to the prosecution of George Zimmerman,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “My guess is that most Americans would rightly object to taxpayers paying government employees to help organize racially-charged demonstrations.”

Can George Zimmerman get a fair evaluation of the evidence against him from the Obama – Holder Justice Department?

It doesn’t sound like it from the documents Judicial Watch has uncovered.

To those on the far left, such as President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder, and their supporters who are invested in “racializing” American culture, everything that happens in America is about race. To the far left there must be an outcome in the killing of Trayvon Martin that proves that Americans are racist and atones for America’s alleged history of racism.

That means George Zimmerman must be found guilty of something – if not of murder or manslaughter, then depriving Martin of his civil rights will do.

Racial Profiling?

I do not believe this incident was racially motivated. A neighborhood watchman is accused of "racial profiling," but what watchman would not have been suspicious of a young man, black or white, that he didn't recognize, walking in the neighborhood after dark? If he was motivated to kill the suspicious character simply because he was black, why would he have called the police to report him? I think everyone who thinks Zimmerman should be "lynched" for killing Martin should put him- or herself in his place and think about how they would react if someone bigger and stronger knocked them down, punched them in the face and slammed their head repeatedly on the cement. If they were honest, they'd have to admit that they, too, would have defended themselves by any means possible. This was an altercation between two young men that turned deadly, race had nothing to do with it.

Left Right Left Right

Why is everything either left or right for you. It's just plain idiotic it's about a teenager losing his life to a neighborhood watch who profiled him due to frustration.
Had I been a juror there is no way Zimmerman would have walk out a free man. Those women jurors were distracted by lawyer minutiae and forget the dead teenager. Thus no justice, I don't see how these jurors will be able to sleep at night.
There is a dead young man and no one is being held to account.

Zimmerman

Most everyone has it all wrong. Trayvon's girl friend was on Pierce Morgan's program last night. She was on the phone with Trayvon (before he was killed). He told her he was being followed by a ....a** cracka (their language for police). She told Trayvon to run, run, run, that this person following was gay and would rape him. There was no mention of race. This was not a "race" issue - the race issue was only projected by the media, Obama, Holder and others like Sharpton and Jackson who are always trying to stir up (hate)riots. There is too much judging going on without the facts.
Truth is hard for some to take.

Keep marching on,

Keep marching on, LeftRight,Left,Right; your troll tactics don't work with this crowd.

Martin was not a kid but a six foot two, one hundred and sixty pound man. He was always getting into fights, and in fact quite possibly beat up a bus driver. He was known as a drug user and in fact had drugs in his system the night of his death. He was purchasing Skittles and Arizona Watermelon cocktail (not iced tea) to make a concoction called Lean, a drug using codeine. He was suspended three times from school, the last time for possessing burglary tools and stolen jewelry. He called himself the "no limits nigga" and poured forth filthy statements and misogynous comments on Twitter and Facebook. He was no shrinking violet.

And the night he died? He was less than a hundred yards from where his father was staying, and had plenty of time to get there. Zimmerman obeyed the directions of the dispatcher. The dispatcher wanted to know where Martin was going and THAT is why Zimmerman was following him. He stopped when the dispatcher told him to do so. Martin clearly assaulted Zimmerman, breaking his nose and busting open the back of his head on the ground. The witness with the best view confirmed that. Martin was on top of Zimmerman bashing his head on the ground. Zimmerman took the only course of action open to him.

The police did not charge Zimmerman because they had no case against him.

YOU want to hear none of this, because you are either incapable of reading beyond Yahoo News or you are a liar; take your pick.

Martin was ultimately killed by the Liberal establishment. It is the culture they have fostered in the black community, the culture of drugs, violence, misogyny, and criminality. It is the fault of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. It is the fruits of a liberal permissiveness and dependent culture. If you are worried about a dead kid, look in the mirror to assess blame.

How about facts, Not politics for once...

There were over 541 MURDERS in Chicago since the day Tray was killed. I hear NOTHING. There have been dozens of black on white beatings and murders since then...many while the killers shouted "For Trayvon"...NOT A DAMNED WORD... When did equality become SPECIAL..? When did one life mean more than all others if only to push politics and suck up to "political" figures?? Apparently you all are willing to sacrifice this young mans life for politics...and execute another man who was found "not guilty" of the crimes so obviously presented in error due to political pressure. When Reginald Denny was dragged from his truck in LA because he was white...NOTHING ELSE...and beaten nearly to death...all four attackers walked free... Did white people riot..? There is no equality in what you demand...NONE... There is no justice...NONE... You can't run a trial by emotions...it's about facts...JUST FACTS...and the fact is...SADLY...Tray decided to go back...not to his house...BUT BACK to see what the "creepy-ass-cracker's" problem was...got into a fight...and lost. If he would have simply walked on home...think about where all your misplaced hate and anger would be today... But nobody listens to the truth anymore...they watch CNN for "points" and hear ONLY what fits their predetermined outcome. They want you to think there's racism around every corner... They want you to feel divided...they NEED it... Jackson and Sharpton get PAID from your hate and anger and frustration... That's the only "church" they know...the church of victimization... "You...You're a victim...now pay me..." Start thinking for yourself...start SEEING the facts... NOBODY wants to kill anyone needlessly...and those that do deserve whats coming... You all are sad...and desperately need to get a life...your own.

Zimmerman

I have posted a petition on the White House petition website instructing the Obama administration to leave Mr Zimmerman alone. They are currently considering civil rights charges. An anti Zimmerman post already exists and has gained many signatures. Mine needs 150 before they will publish it for the general public. At this writing there are 6. Please sign it if you believe that justice was served. The link:https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/stay-out-trayvon-martin-affair-leave-zimmerman-alone/Xq1vG5bK

There is not even a question whether justice was served. How can you have a murdered innocent teenager who only went out to buy skittles gets profiled then killed, only to have the murderer walk out of court a free man.
No rational human being would agree this jury performed a just verdict.

Something is wrong with our justice system it doesn't work.43v94
