There’s a Grassroots Army Building to Save America, Will You Join?

Mike Lee and Ted Cruz
To many Americans of a conservative bent it is impossible to watch the news or read the paper without concluding that America has fallen so far from Ronald Reagan’s “shining city on a hill” that it will never come back; one in four American children is on food stamps, we have a President who ignores the Constitution by spying on law abiding American citizens and simply breaks the law whenever it is inconvenient to his political agenda.

We understand why the lack of principled conservative leadership in the top echelons of the Republican Party has left many grassroots conservatives frustrated and demoralized about the future, however, we see it quite differently here at CHQ.

We think that, for all the dark and frightening headlines, the United States remains a place where we individual Americans, with God’s help, hold the future in our hands.

Even at this time, when public esteem of Congress is at an all-time low, men and women of integrity and principle have stepped forward to run and be elected to fight back against the erosion of our Constitutional rights and to fight to put the federal government back inside its strict constitutional limits.

Men like Senators Ted Cruz of Texas, Mike Lee of Utah and Rand Paul of Kentucky who have begun an effort in the Senate to defund Obamacare.

Breitbart’s Matthew Boyle and Tony Lee have extensively reported on how Senator Ted Cruz in particular has called on America’s grassroots conservative activists to rise up and organize an effort to force establishment Republicans to support defunding Obamacare in the upcoming Continuing Resolution (CR) that funds the government and must be voted on by the end of September.

Cruz, noting that he was elected to the Senate through the efforts of an anti-establishment conservative grassroots army in Texas said recently, “Now we need to activate another grassroots army--this time on a national scale. In September, Congress will have the opportunity to defund Obamacare--the disastrous health care law, which is killing jobs and hurting the health care system. The only way we can win this debate is if the American people rise up and demand it. Please join us and let your representatives know where you stand.”

Cruz and the other Republican senators will be using the August recess to organize this "grassroots army" in large measure to put pressure on Republican leaders, particularly Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), to defund Obamacare during the budget negotiations that will ensue when they return to Washington.

Senators Cruz and Lee have been promoting an online petition www.dontfundobamacare.com that already has over 250,000 signatures. They want to put pressure on McConnell to join them in supporting a measure to fund the government except for Obamacare.

According to The Hill, Cruz told a group of Capitol Hill conservatives, “If we see in the next 60 days hundreds of thousands or millions of Americans lighting up the phones, calling their House members, calling up their senators and saying, ‘Stand for principle, this isn’t working, it’s destroying the economy, it’s hurting jobs, it’s destroying healthcare, it’s driving up our premiums, defund it,’ that’s how we win.”

Likewise, Senator Mike Lee said on Rush Limbaugh's program that conservatives must turn out en mass in August to pressure lawmakers because, “There would be no way that you could fund Obamacare unless you got some Republicans in the House and some Republicans in the Senate to vote for it."

Media reports of large Tea Party and limited government constitutional conservative turnouts at congressional town hall meetings are already starting to filter in. You can see one here where North Carolina Republican Congressman Robert Pittenger (NC-9) tried to explain why he does not plan to support Lee, Cruz and Paul in their effort to defund Obamacare, and in the process proves the point Senator Mike Lee made on Rush.

The only way we will “lose the country” is if we let it go.

As one fearless lady attending Congressman Pittenger’s town hall said, “We need to show the American people we stand for conservative values!”

Now is not the time for conservatives to give in to fear and give up.  Now is the time for us to seize the future by recruiting our friends, relatives, church members and neighbors to become members of the grassroots army Cruz, Paul and Lee are building and to turn them out to demand that Republicans fight for what Senator Ted Cruz has called “the last, best chance to defund Obamacare.”

The only army Cruz is going to see is the one arming against him by the time he comes up for re-election. I personally will be a foot soldier marching against this despicable good for nothing senator. In case you people haven't heard Obama is president and Obamacare is the law of the land and it's here to stay. Million of us who welcome the Affordable Healthcare Act. We here in America are behind other Industrial nations and have neglected our less fortunate citizens.
What astounds me is the fact that there are people like yourselves are so vehemently opposed to it. Why what's wrong with taking care of our own. There is so much waste and too numerous to discuss here, why aren't you railing against our bloated military talk about waste not only that but it's prone to military misadventures "gotta test them weapons" .
Mr. Vaquire's age has passed it's unfortunate he doesn't realize it. His political ideology is rigid stoic and antiquated, he's attracted to whatever gliders and not everything that gliders is gold. Ah Richard what a foolish man you are, a form of Poltergeist who just can't find the light so he just lingers and makes noise.

Texas Army

I don't know what got up your butt, but you have a rude awakening. Do you have health insurance now? If so, good. Your premiums will only go up when Obamacare kicks in. If you don't have health insurance, it's only going to cost you about $200.00 a month. Now most people, maybe not you, but most people have lost their full time jobs and reduced to half time or fired BECAUSE of Obamacare. Now, are these people going to be able to afford health insurance? Probably not so where does Obamacare go from there?
You can sign up for exchanges in your state and that will only reduce your cost of Obamacare for now, but I can assure you it will go up. That's the way the government works. Those people who can afford Obamacare's $200.00 will see the premiums go up because there are too many people who can't afford Obamacare. There are more people on welfare (the dole) than there are people working. Can you afford to carry health insurance for these people? I can't. Now what was so wrong with health care before Obamacare. Can you tell me.

No Friend of Cruz

I'm waiting for that wing-nut to arrive back in Texas so I can give him a piece of my mind. Cruz has done absolutely NOTHING for the people of Texas or anyone else for that matter. He is laser focused on eliminating Obamacare by defunding it.
As with all Republicans he offers nothing as an alternative, it's destroy destroy destroy.
We did not send him to Washington for such a purpose but since he is totally obsessed with Obamacare I'll be busy along with many other Texans to throw him out of office the good for nothing clumsy oaf.
