Herring Impeachment Effort Gathering Steam

Mark Herring
Our friend Judson Phillips at Tea Party Nation has a great take on the growing movement to impeach Virginia’s newly sworn-in Democrat Attorney General Mark Herring.

Phillips posted on the Tea Party Nation Forum that Mark Herring has been Virginia’s Attorney General for less than a month and it is already past time to impeach him.

In Judson’s analysis Democrats usually need at least a couple of months to do something that merits impeachment.  Herring is ahead of the curve.

What has he done?

According to Phillips it’s what he hasn’t done.

Herring is refusing to do his job as Attorney General.

Herring is refusing to defend the State’s Constitutional Amendment that defines marriage as a union between one man and one woman.  Not only is he refusing to defend it, he is filing a brief urging the Federal Courts to strike the amendment down.

The job of the Attorney General, as Judson points out, is to represent the people of the State of Virginia. The marriage amendment to the Virginia Constitution was approved by a huge majority of Virginia voters.  It is not the place of the Attorney General to overrule the rule of the people.

The Republicans still have a sizable majority in the House of Delegates.  The question is will the moderate leadership go along with the impeachment resolution.

That’s where you come in.

It is up to the grassroots to push back against the hard left that thinks its elected officials can rewrite or ignore laws they don’t like.

If you are in Virginia, join CHQ, Tea Party movement voters and other constitutionalists and call your state delegate and ask them to support the impeachment of Attorney General Mark Herring over his failure to defend the state constitution.

Please sign our impeach Mark Herring petition to Virginia House of Delegates Speaker William J. Howell and most importantly, please forward this to anyone you know who lives in Virginia.
