Nothing to Worry about from Middle-Eastern Refugees? Think Again

Coining the term “refujihadists,” our friend Deroy Murdock has a great column in National Review documenting the militant-Islamic killers lurking among the vast tide of Muslims leaving the Middle East for Europe… and America.

Boston Marathon bombersMurdock documents nine individuals who entered the West as “refugees” and subsequently committed terrorist acts:

Osama Krayem was arrested on April 8. Belgian police believe he was the second terrorist “present at the time of the attack at the Maelbeek subway station” in Brussels, according to CNN. The news channel further reported that this ISIS member “is thought to have come to Europe, along with hundreds of refugees from war-torn nations, via the Greek island of Leros.” He evidently traveled on a bogus Syrian passport under the pseudonym Naim al Hamed.

Ahmad al Mohammad, perhaps a nom de guerre, blew himself up outside a soccer match at Paris’s Stade de France as ISIS massacred 130 and injured 368 others on November 13. Mohammad apparently carried a fake Syrian passport, entered Leros last October 3, and registered with Serbian police on October 7. “Leros authorities say they simply do not have the resources to screen all the migrants effectively,” the BBC reports, “or even check whether passports are genuine.”

ISIS is “taking advantage of the torrent of migrants to insert operatives into that flow,” National Intelligence Director James Clapper warned the Senate Armed Services Committee on February 9. He added that ISIS terrorists are “pretty skilled at phony passports, so they can travel ostensibly as legitimate travelers.”

Canadian authorities arrested Faruq Khalil Muhammad Isa (a.k.a. Sayfildin Tahir-Sharif) in 2011. According to the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC), he is a former Iraqi refugee “who is accused of vetting individuals on the Internet for suicide operations in Iraq.”

That May, the NCTC reports, the FBI “arrested Kentucky-based Iraqi refugees Wa’ad Ramadan Alwan and Mohanad Shareef Hammadi for attempting to send weapons and explosives from Kentucky to Iraq and conspiring to commit terrorism while in Iraq.” Both refujihadists pled guilty to these charges. They entered America through a refugee program in 2009. The FBI rounded them up after their fingerprints were found on improvised explosive devices in Iraq. At the time of his arrest, Alwan reportedly was on government assistance and lived in public housing.

Omar Faraj Saeed Al Hardan, 24, and Aws Mohammed Younis Al-Jayab, 23, are Iraqi-born Palestinians who entered America as refugees. They were arrested in January. Both are accused of lying to U.S. officials about their terror ties. A federal indictment says that Al Hardan also attempted to provide material support to ISIS.

Abdurahman Yasin Daud, a Minnesota-based Somali refugee, was arrested in San Diego in April 2015. Officials say that he and Mohamed Abdihamid Farah, another radical Muslim, planned to acquire passports, slip into Mexico, jet to Syria, then join ISIS. The fact that Daud came to America at age nine puts the onus on other Muslim refugee children who are sweet and innocent now and potentially lethal later.

Indeed, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is the poster boy for young refugees gone very, very bad. He came to America in 2002, at age nine, and stayed as an ethnic Chechen asylee from Kyrgyzstan, along with his parents. His brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, arrived in 2004 at age 18. The Tsarnaevs became Muslim extremists. They used ball-bearing-filled pressure-cooker bombs to attack the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013, killing three and wounding 264.

But these individuals identified in Deroy Murdock’s excellent article are just the tip of the iceberg.

Last summer Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL), Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest, and Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), Chairman of the Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Oversight, Agency Action, Federal Rights and Federal Courts, sent a letter to Obama Administration officials with responsibility for immigration and terrorism.  The letter addresses the large number of persons inside the United States involved with ISIS and other Islamic terror organizations whose presence in the United States results from Obama and George W. Bush immigration policy.

And the Cruz – Sessions letter wasn’t just a “drive by” political point-maker or media ploy; it asks for detailed information on the immigration history, including family immigration history, of 72 individuals involved with or sentenced for terrorist activity in just the previous year.

You can read the chart of the 72 individuals through this link. And remember, this is just one year’s worth of Muslim terrorists operating here in the United States.

Obama and his minions have steadfastly refused to respond to the Cruz – Sessions letter leading us to sensibly wonder what are they hiding?

As Deroy Murdock observed, “This entire bloody mess should surprise no one. ISIS has bragged about using Muslim-refugee outflows as a conveyor belt for speeding terrorists into the civilized world.”

“There were small armies of the Islamic State within every country of Europe by late 2014, and the intelligence agencies didn’t even know about it!” ISIS declared in a manifesto titled Black Flags from Rome quoted by Murdock. “No doubt, some of these refugees were undercover fighters of al-Qaeda and the Islamic State.”

To all of this, Obama shouts: “More!” He plans to welcome 10,000 Syrian refugees to America this year and 100,000 in 2017.

Why does America need over 2.3 million Muslim immigrants? What is the benefit to America? Moreover, what are the risks? Which government agency is vetting who arrives, who gets to stay and who qualifies for US citizenship?

Transferring murder, mayhem and radicalism from dysfunctional Islamic countries to Europe and America, and in so doing voluntarily putting our own citizens at great risk is not a requirement of being a compassionate, open-minded, enlightened and tolerant human being.

Moreover, such questions do not constitute “Islamophobia.” Moderate, assimilated Muslims know these kinds of questions are fair minded and entirely reasonable. After all, the Egyptian and Pakistani people also face Islamic terrorism in their own countries.

It is naive to believe that could not (and is not) happening in America.
