Arnold Palmer - A Class Act and a Marketing Genius

Richard A. Viguerie and Arnold Palmer at Bay Hill Club and Lodge in Bay Hill, Florida, March 7, 1982. Two guys who studied hard and learned marketing from the ground up.

Richard Viguerie and Arnold Palmer

Arnold Palmer was a class act and ranked among the most important figures in golf history, and it went well beyond his seven major championships and 62 PGA Tour wins. But beyond his prowess as a golfer, one of the things that I admired most about Arnold Palmer was that he was a pioneer in sports marketing, paving the way for scores of other athletes to reap in millions from endorsements. Some four decades after his last PGA Tour win, he still ranked among the highest-earners in golf. I've spent my life studying marketing and providing direct marketing services to conservative candidates, causes and organizations. Arnold Palmer was a great golfer, but he may have been an even better marketer than he was a golfer.
