Hawaii's Democrats Screw Up, Liberal Media Blames Trump

Hawaii, alleged birthplace of Barack Obama, is a liberal Democrat stronghold, home to lots of gun control, liberal pro-unlimited immigration judges, two liberal Senators and a liberal Governor and state administration.

And that liberal Democrat state administration scared the bejesus out of its citizens on Saturday by issuing a Hawaii false alarmfalse incoming missile threat through the state disaster warning system.

“It was definitely kind of a panic zone,” Ashley Trask, 39 and from Kauai, told the UK’s Guardian. “Everyone knows you have about 15 minutes until detonation and no one knows where it will land.”

Family members “called us and they were crying because they realized they wouldn’t have made it to us”, Trask said according to reporting by the Guardian’s Martin Pengelly.

Beth Ann Brooks of Haleiwa said she and her husband sheltered in their bathroom with their children.

“The fear I felt was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced,” she said according to Pengelly’s reporting.

According to a timeline released by the state, the alert was triggered at 8:07 a.m. local time when, during an internal drill, an employee hit the wrong button. For 13 minutes it went uncorrected, until the emergency management agency sent an update on social media.

It took 38 minutes for state authorities to send a second message saying the alert was an error. Governor David Ige told CNN the false alarm was “a mistake made during a standard procedure at the changeover of a shift, and an employee pushed the wrong button.”

Hawaii Emergency Management Agency administrator Vern Miyagi said he took responsibility and officials would study the error and you’d think Hawaiians would be calling for Miyagi to fire the person who “pushed the wrong button,” but such is not the case.

Instead, the liberal media and liberal politicians are trying to turn the screw-up against President Trump.

“What makes me angry,” Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (HI-2) told CNN’s State of the Union, “is that yes this false alarm went out and we have to fix that in Hawaii but really we’ve got to get to the underlying issue here, of why are the people of Hawaii and the US facing a nuclear threat coming from North Korea… And what is this president doing, urgently, to eliminate that threat?”

So, according to Rep. Gabbard, the false alarm about a ballistic missile strike that terrified Hawaiians on Saturday showed Donald Trump’s policy on North Korea is wrong, not that Democratic officials in Hawaii’s Emergency Management Agency are derelict, incompetent or under-trained.

Then there was this screed by The Washington Post’s Phillip Bump:

Perhaps that the incident occurred in Hawaii plays a role. It seems odd to have to note that, but it’s certainly defensible. From his attorney general at one point dismissing the state as “an island in the Pacific” to Trump’s general focus on states he won to, we have to note, the gulf between his responses to the hurricanes that struck Texas and Florida and the one that nearly wiped Puerto Rico clean — there is plenty of evidence that can be cited for Trump’s not necessarily having the state of Hawaii at the forefront of his thoughts. Normally, one wouldn’t even assume that a president might be indifferent to one of the 50 states; here, it’s impossible not to wonder if it’s the case...

It’s also hard to imagine that Trump didn’t make the situation more stressful in another way. His constant prodding of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has dramatically increased the sense that a missile might actually be launched at Hawaii from that nation. During the past 12 months, we’ve learned a lot more about what North Korea can do, and we’ve heard experts describe Trump’s response as exacerbating, not lessening, the possibility of conflict.

The result is that there was actually one message Trump sent to Hawaiians on Saturday.

You’re on your own.

A White House official told CNN that the president was briefed in person by national security adviser H.R. McMaster, deputy national security adviser Ricky Waddell and White House chief of staff John Kelly. Politico reported that the situation did not prompt a reaction from the president's national security team because the alert was false.

However, that didn’t stop liberals from flooding social media with criticism of the President:

“For 38 minutes American citizens in Hawaii braced for a ballistic missile strike ... and @realDonaldTrump continued his round of golf in Florida on his 120th taxpayer funded vacation day in less than a year,” Newsweek reported former Pentagon official Morris Davis tweeted.

"Trump knew within minutes no missile was hurtling toward Hawaii. He was golfing. They told him. He did not tweet out that info. He kept golfing. People thought they & their families were going to die FOR 38 MINS. Then when the panic was over he tweeted how media is so mean to him," tweeted author Reza Aslan, according to Newsweek’s reporting.

While the false missile alert shows bungling state Democrats in Hawaii at their most incompetent, it also shows liberals and the establishment media at their most hypocritical. After eight years during which Obama could do no wrong and was responsible for nothing, they now want Americans to believe that President Trump can do nothing right and is responsible for everything that goes wrong in the world, no matter how distant the nexus between the disaster and the White House.

I am pretty sure Trump is responsible for the current flu epidemic plus the cold snap engulfing the eastern USA. Let's check with Pelosi to get the straight skinny on this....uh huh.

Critical thinking on media

There is not much to add here except the media is once again showing a lack of logic and not missing the opportunity to blame Trump for their false alarm narrative. I wonder if the media has any clue at all why no one considers them to be a reliable or credible source of information? They seem driven to go over the cliff like lemmings following these out of context news reports that further erode their base.

I have always known you can NOT believe everything you read, view, hear but in the propaganda media we have today they have steadily and relentlessly followed this deceitful, obfuscating, and outright lying agenda to an extreme. I do not expect to see anyone with a shred of critical thinking to ever give any of them a chance to redeem themselves. They have condemned journalism to the story mode of fiction in my view forever more.

As I am sure there are real journalist who do not participate in the story telling or twisting of truth by omission or selective editing it still paints them all with this taint. And for the person or persons behind this fiasco of media, this is also a problem for them. We have reached a saturation point.

For me it was the November 2016 election when we were told Hillary would win no matter how we voted. They lied, I know with certainty this was propaganda at its worst. Now we also know about voting fraud, the illegal and treasonous actions of the last administration and likely even other previous recent administrations. It is all coming to light and there will be I sincerely hope some punishment for those who perpetrated these crimes.

But regardless, this nation now knows for those who are not mindless followers that there is a presence behind all of this that represents what Cicero described as the "Enemy Within". We must continue our push as patriots, critical thinkers, and conservatives who support our constitution and our laws to oppose these authors and enemies within who assault all that this nation represents. It is truly sad that we can no longer trust our media and have to research every kernel of information to assure it is truth because the enemy within has taken control of our national media sources. And the saddest part of my opinion is recognising that a large portion of this nation's citizens do not realize this truth about our news of today.

fake bomb threat

As usual the liberals are blaming President Trump for their own short comings. If you want to blame anyone, blame the past Presidents back to Clinton for continuing to pay off N. Korea with bribes not to do what they are doing now. All that bribe money has been paying for their nuclear program. Thank you President Trump for NOT following in their footsteps. It is about time the world see NK for what it is, a terrorist country run by a mad mam
