Romney Leads Walking Dead To Capitol Hill

Fans of the eponymous TV series The Walking Dead will immediately recognize Mitt Romney as the new leader of the Whisperers, the ultra-territorial group of defective humans who disguise themselves as walkers by wearing their skin, allowing them to move freely between herds of the undead and surviving humans, traitorously killing any human who encroaches into their territory.

Romney, disguised in the skin of a conservative, has now staked-out Capitol Hill as his territory and has launched his first attack on President Donald Trump and his beleaguered band of conservative-populist human survivors.

In a scathing op-ed published (of course) by the anti-Trump Washington Post, Senator-elect Romney claimed that “the president has not risen to the mantle of the office” and cited as evidence the departure of various appointees, including Rex Tillerson, Jeff Sessions, Nikki Haley, Gary Cohn, H.R. McMaster, John Kelly and James Mattis.

That most of these individuals were Democrats or abject failures at implementing the President’s agenda, Nikki Haley being the notable exception, does not seem to matter to Romney.

What matters it seems is the opportunity to signal his superior virtue to Trump and those who elected him.

To Romney Donald Trump’s many successes are nullified by his refusal to follow the path of establishment Republican losers, like him:

To a great degree, a presidency shapes the public character of the nation. A president should unite us and inspire us to follow “our better angels.” A president should demonstrate the essential qualities of honesty and integrity, and elevate the national discourse with comity and mutual respect. As a nation, we have been blessed with presidents who have called on the greatness of the American spirit. With the nation so divided, resentful and angry, presidential leadership in qualities of character is indispensable. And it is in this province where the incumbent’s shortfall has been most glaring.

Romney further took aim at the President by saying, “I will act as I would with any president, in or out of my party: I will support policies that I believe are in the best interest of the country and my state, and oppose those that are not. I do not intend to comment on every tweet or fault. But I will speak out against significant statements or actions that are divisive, racist, sexist, anti-immigrant, dishonest or destructive to democratic institutions.”

In this, without citing any evidence, he implicitly accused the President of being “divisive, racist, sexist, anti-immigrant, dishonest or destructive to democratic institutions.”

After running a content-free campaign for President in which he barely mentioned the worst economy since the Great Depression, Obama’s effort to grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens, and ignored the bedrock cultural issues that motivate key elements of the Republican presidential coalition, Romney disappeared only to resurface regularly to criticize Donald Trump and Republicans who are actually doing something to implement the Republican platform and the conservative agenda.

Fortunately, like Negan in The Walking Dead, Trump is not afraid to pick-up his trusty barbed wire wrapped baseball bat Lucille and take a swing at Romney’s head, tweeting:

Here we go with Mitt Romney, but so fast! Question will be, is he a Flake?  I hope not. Would much prefer that Mitt focus on Border Security and so many other things where he can be helpful. I won big, and he didn’t. He should be happy for all Republicans. Be a TEAM player & WIN!

Echoing Trump’s call for Republican unity Romney’s niece Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel tweeted:

POTUS is attacked and obstructed by the MSM media and Democrats 24/7. For an incoming Republican freshman senator to attack @realDonaldTrump as their first act feeds into what the Democrats and media want and is disappointing and unproductive.

Fans of the Walking Dead TV show and the comic series will recognize that the Whisperer War, is one of the most destructive events in the series and due to the treachery of the leaders of the Whisperers, it nearly leads to the extinction of the human survivors.

The only thing that saves the survivors is their willingness to take the war straight to the leader of the enemy, in this case Senator Mitt Romney, and their unity in the face of the twin threats of a vast herd of walkers and the traitorous Whisperers.

Mitt Romney is now the leader of the zombie wing of the Republican Party - the old globalist elitists, cheap labor Business Round Table Republicans are politically dead, they just don't know it yet. The toll-free Capitol Switchboard is (1-866-220-0044) we urge CHQ readers to call Senator Romney’s office to tell him attacking the President is disappointing and unproductive and that you are not buying his virtue signaling.
