Good News From Trump Wrecks Democrats

Trump SOTU
Good news for Americans is death to the Democrat Party.

And that is why in their coverage of President Trump’s State of the Union message most of the establishment media could not get beyond the shenanigans of the white-clad Democratic congresswomen and President Donald Trump’s pitch for the much-needed wall on our southern border.

The President was of course right when he said “No issue better illustrates the divide between America’s working class and America’s political class than illegal immigration.  Wealthy politicians and donors push for open borders while living their lives behind walls and gates and guards.”

The logical case for the Wall was made in one tight paragraph:

As we speak, large, organized caravans are on the March to the United States. We have just heard that Mexican cities, in order to remove the illegal immigrants from their communities, are getting trucks and buses to bring them up to our country in areas where there is little border protection. I have ordered another 3750 troops to our southern border to prepare for this tremendous onslaught. This is a moral issue. The lawless state of our southern border is a threat to the safety, security, and financial well-being of all Americans. We have a moral duty to create an immigration system that protects the lives and jobs of our citizens.

Unfortunately, his statement that tolerance for illegal immigration is not compassionate, it is cruel and “We have a moral duty to create an immigration system that protects the lives and jobs of our citizens,” while self-evident to conservatives, will not convince any Democrats to vote for the Wall because they have staked their political future on thwarting President Trump, no matter what the cost to the country.

One of the high points for conservatives was the President’s passionate and heartfelt plea for Congress to pass a prohibition on late term abortion – a much-needed presidential rebuke to the Democrats embrace of the culture of death that would guarantee a dead baby to any woman seeking an abortion – even if the baby is born alive.

Two other points ignored by most of the establishment media are worth highlighting.

First, one could argue that the major subtext of the President’s remarks was a list of points upon which past Congresses and past Presidents of both parties failed; trade with China, NAFTA, trade deals generally and especially securing the Southern Border. “I’m here to fix things professional politicians have screwed-up or ignored” is a major part of the Trump brand, and for those who were listening the President did a good job of reinforcing his brand.

Second, those handicapping the 2020 presidential race should take note of President Trump’s comments on socialism:

Here, in the United States, we are alarmed by new calls to adopt socialism in our country. America was founded on liberty and independence - not government coercion, domination, and control. We are born free, and we will stay free.

Tonight, we renew our resolve that America will never be a socialist country.

Count on that to be a major part of the Trump campaign pitch as the Democrats move further and further to the Left.

All of that, and more, took up much of the President’s time, but in a Washington not ruled by Democrat obstruction and resistance, the focus of President Trump’s State of the Union message should have been on all the good news, especially on jobs and the economy, that America has enjoyed during the first two years of the Trump presidency.

Due to President Trump’s pro-growth policies, including the rolling back of job-killing regulations, real gross domestic product (GDP) growth exceeded 3 percent over the last four quarters. Real GDP grew at annual rates of 3.4 percent in the third quarter of 2018 and 4.2 percent in the second quarter.

To put this in real bread and butter terms, more than 5 million jobs have been created since President Trump’s election and the unemployment rate remains below 4 percent. Last month was the eighth time this year that the unemployment rate has been below 4 percent. Prior to this year, the unemployment rate had fallen below 4 percent only five times since 1970, and as the President noted, “we have more women in the workforce than ever before...”

Initial weekly jobless claims have hit a nearly 50-year low under President Trump, and under President Trump, job openings outnumber the unemployed for the first time on record. Manufacturing added 600,000 jobs in the Trump era, 284,000 jobs in 2018 alone – the most added in a year since 1997, and more than two-thirds of Americans rated “now” as a good time to find a quality job, tying a record high in a poll by Gallup.

Thanks to the booming economy America’s working families are seeing more money in their pockets and long deferred improvements in their quality of life. In 2017, real median household income rose to a post-recession high, and in recent months, workers have seen their largest nominal year over year wage growth in nearly a decade. Consequently, consumer confidence has soared under President Trump, recently reaching an 18-year high.

To show you how bad this good news is for Democrats, who rely on race-baiting and racial division to put and keep them in power, the unemployment rate for African Americans in May fell to 5.9 percent, which is the lowest rate on record. Asian and Hispanic-American unemployment rates have also reached record lows this year.

President Trump’s policies are helping to lift Americans out of poverty. African-American and Hispanic-American poverty rates reached record lows of 21.2 percent and 18.3 percent, respectively, in 2017 and since the election, 4.6 million Americans have been lifted off food stamps.

In other words, the workers Donald Trump promise to fight for are the real winners of the Trump economic boom.

All that good news should have been the headline coverage, because, despite what the Democrats and their allies in the establishment media would like Americans to believe, that’s the real “State of the Union” in January of 2019.

Socialism

Our country was designed as a Republic.... It will never become a Socialist country.... There are too many vets that have died for this country...and too many vets that has just spent the last 17 to 18 years fighting for the Republic to allow it to turn Socialist.... I would rather see it burn to the ground than allow Socialism to dominate....
