Trump Is Just Saying What Regular Americans Think

Trump tweet leftists
Over the weekend President Trump unleashed a Twitter bomb on Minnesota’s Muslim Representative Ilhan Omar (MN-5) for her comments criticizing America and Fox News host Tucker Carlson and her participation in a recent progressive mini-revolt against Democratic Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

The catalyst for the President’s tweet storm was probably Omar’s comments at the Netroots Nation conference in Philadelphia where she said she is “ashamed” of the United States of America “continuing to live in its hypocrisy.”

“We export American exceptionalism,” Omar said. “The Great America. The land of liberty and justice. That is, you know, you ask anybody in, walking on the side of the street somewhere in the middle of the world, they will tell you America the Great.

“But we don’t live those values here,” Omar said.

Of course, Rep. Omar attempted to soften her criticism of her adopted country by claiming her remarks were not anti-American, but President Trump was having none of it tweeting:

So interesting to see “Progressive” Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run. Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how it is done. These places need your help badly, you can’t leave fast enough. I’m sure that Nancy Pelosi would be very happy to quickly work out free travel arrangements!

Rep. Omar was born in Mogadishu, Somalia, a country that is pretty much the definition of a failed state, so Trump’s criticism has a basis in fact as well as politics.

Democrats naturally went nuts and CNN reported a list of establishment Republicans who were quick to criticize the president, among them were:

Rep. Mike Turner of Ohio

"I am confident that every Member of Congress is a committed American," he tweeted. "@realDonaldTrump's tweets from this weekend were racist and he should apologize. We must work as a country to rise above hate, not enable it."

Rep. Pete Olson of Texas

"The Tweet President Trump posted over the weekend about fellow Members of Congress are not reflective of the values of the 1,000,000+ people in Texas 22. We are proud to be the most diverse Congressional district in America," Olson tweeted Monday. "I urge our President immediately disavow his comments."

Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina

Scott, one of two black Republican members serving in Congress, said in a statement that Trump's comments used "racially offensive language."

"Instead of sharing how the Democratic Party's far-left, pro-socialist policies -- not to mention the hateful language some of their members have used towards law enforcement and Jews -- are wrong for the future of our nation, the President interjected with unacceptable personal attacks and racially offensive language," Scott said in his statement. "No matter our political disagreements, aiming for the lowest common denominator will only divide our nation further."

Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska

"There is no excuse for the president's spiteful comments -- they were absolutely unacceptable and this needs to stop," Murkowski said in a statement. "We have enough challenges addressing the humanitarian crises both at our borders and around the world. Instead of digging deeper into the mud with personal, vindictive insults --we must demand a higher standard of decorum and decency."

Even Lindsey Graham 2.0 squirreled on the President after pretty much nailing Omar and her crew: "We all know that AOC and this crowd are a bunch of communists," Graham said on Fox and Friends. "They hate Israel, they hate our own country, they're calling the guards along our border—the border patrol agents—concentration camp guards. They accuse people who support Israel of doing it for 'the Benjamins. They're anti-Semitic. They're anti-America."

But he then criticized the President, saying, "Don't get down—aim higher. We don't need to know anything about them personally. Talk about their policy," the South Carolina lawmaker said. "I just don't think you—aim higher. You don't need to—they are American citizens. They won an election. Take on their policies. The bottom line here is, this is a diverse country."

However, as is often the case when Trump drops a Twitter bomb on Democrats, middle America seems to agree with the President. The consensus we found during a foray to our favorite shooting range was “don’t let the screen door hit her in the butt” and President’s tweet was liked over 168,000 times with comments equally as brutal:

American Infidel 1776 @N8JRP tweeted:

Let’s be Clear if these individuals did the things they’re doing here in there own countries. Their heads would have been lopped off...

Duncan Godfrey @Foll_ji tweeted:

Potus tells it as it is. Sweep your own back yard befor you tell me how dirty mine is.

Nick Gurr @NickGur52769087 tweeted:

Trump is correct. These women are bitches that argue and fight over anything American except themselves. Talk about bullies. Their ideas or no ones is their motto. I guess we are all those loose words they use against Trump.

Murdershyz @NovaBomber tweeted:

Until other countries have the first and second amendment, which will probably never happen, America will always be the greatest. Now if only some our fellow Americans could simply not try to remove those rights.

And Brett Leichtman @bleichtman824 tweeted:

Of course the left leaves out the part saying "come back and show us how". It's completely amazing. Thanks for your work sir!

As is usually the case, President Trump was merely giving voice to what Americans in flyover country think, and also as usual, he was unrepentant in the face of establishment Republican and Democrat criticism, tweeting in response to demands that he apologize:

"When will the Radical Left Congresswomen apologize to our Country, the people of Israel and even to the Office of the President, for the foul language they have used, and the terrible things they have said. So many people are angry at them & their horrible & disgusting actions!"
