Sotomayor and Biblical Justice
Written by on June 25, 2009, 10:03 AM
In the weeks since President Barack Obama nominated Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court, there has been an avalanche of opposition from conservative groups across the political spectrum.
In the thundering of conservative voices, the very important Christian perspective is sometimes not given the attention it deserves. One such perspective is from Dean Herbert W. Titus. Not only is Dean Titus one of the best constitutional lawyer scholars in America, he brings a unique Christian approach to Sotomayor's nomination that acutely examines her judicial style compared to Biblical traditions of justice. Dean Titus concludes that Sotomayor is someone "who is definitely not qualified to be elevated to the nation’s highest court," and even suggests that she "should be removed from the court of appeals on which she currently sits." Please click here to read Dean Titus' excellent analysis of Sotomayor through the lenses of the Bible. New Comment |
