Urgent Action Needed TODAY to Stop Cap and Trade

A vote is coming to the House floor later today that will drastically change the everyday lives of all Americans, and not for the better. The bill, which will implement "cap and trade" polices in the energy industry, would open the door to massive government regulation of our day-to-day lives.  Just look at what the Heritage Foundation has to say about the Cap and Trade Bill:

    Cap and Trade Is Wrong

    * It's a Massive Energy Tax
    * It Will Not Make a Substantive Impact on the Environment
    * It Will Kill Jobs
    * It Will Cause Electricity Bills and Gas Prices to Sharply Increase
    * It Will Outsource Manufacturing Jobs and Hurt Free Trade
    * It Will Make You Choose among Energy, Groceries, Clothing and Haircuts
    * It Will Be Highly Susceptible to Fraud and Corruption
    * It Will Hurt Senior Citizens, the Poor, and the Unemployed the Worst
    * It Will Cost American Families Nearly $3,000 a Year
    * President Obama Admitted "Electricity Rates Would Necessarily Skyrocket"
       Under His Cap-and-Trade Program (January 2008)

Make no mistake about it. . .this bill affects EVERYBODY.  Not just conservatives, or liberals; Republicans, or Democrats.  This bill will raise the cost of living by THOUSANDS of dollars EACH YEAR for every American family.

This is why we must take action now!

Conservative author and radio host Mark Levin, who called this bill a "direct assault" on the people of America, has identified 25 Representatives in Congress who are waffling on this issue.  Please call them RIGHT NOW and tell them to vote "NO" on Cap and Trade.

Print this email, sit by your phone, and take time to call as many of these Representatives as you can.

Here is what you can say:

"Hi, my name is [your name], and I am deeply worried about the impact of Cap and Trade legislation on my life and the economy, including the massive tax increase that would result.  I strongly urge Representative [Name of Rep.] to vote 'NO' on the 'Waxman-Markey' bill. Thank you for taking my call."

By taking away jobs and increasing the cost of living, this Cap and Trade bill is an attack on the daily lives of all U.S. citizens.  This terrible law will pass or fail in the House of Representatives later today by a few votes.  It's that close.

If you haven't done so already, please take just a few minutes RIGHT NOW to call as many of these 25 Representatives in Congress as you can and tell them to vote NO on Cap and Trade.  It will pass or fail by a handful of votes, and if we don't stop this legislation, it will radically and permanently change America for the worse.

What I'd like to know is how are we going to enforce this on the big polluting countries. What good is cleaning up our air, when China continues to pollute the air above them with impunity? This is more than a double whammy against us. First, the Chinese don't care how many people die from any form of pollution, or contamination. They've got people to spare. Second, the gap between what it costs us versus the Chinese to produce goods will widen. Third, don't we breathe the same air as they do? Our air pollutant diminuation will have no effect on CO2 emissions worldwide, if countries like China continue on their polluting ways.
