Keeping Up With Honduras
Written by CHQ Staff on July 07, 2009, 12:51 PM
Thomas Jefferson once said "a little rebellion now and then is a good thing." These revolutions are especially good when they usher in a new era of democracy and freedom, such as that which appears to be occurring in Honduras.

However, with all of America's problems, it's hard to keep tabs on everything going on in other places.  Fortunately, conservative legend Woody Jenkins created a Web site called SupportFreeHonduras.com that is keeping track of all the latest developments with commentary from a pro-freedom perspective.

Please visit SupportFreeHonduras.com by clicking here, and check out the latest information about the revolution to stop the spread of communism inside Honduras.

I think Jesus said it best (paraphrased); "Before you take the speck out of your neighbor's eye, take the beam out of yours." Why are we so pre-occupied with other countries socialist/communist governments? They can now point to us, and say, "We are trying to become like the United States. We want something for nothing. We want to take from the innovators, because we have the votes. We want to punish success, with unbridled tax, and governmental spending burdens." Just a thought, or two.

Support Honduras and Democracy There are times when a free society will do the right thing to oust Fascism, Socialism, Communism, or some other type of totalitarianism government. America declared freedom from England in 1776. We saw movements of this type of activity in Tiananmen Square, China in June, 1989. Then there was a 2004 coup in Haiti. Just recently, we saw a movement to overturn repression in Iran. Now, we come to Honduras. It appears ousted President Manueal Zelaya was making efforts to extend his government http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dominican_Republic-Central_America-United_States_Free_Trade_Agreement. On June 28, 2009, there was an ousting of Honduras’ President Manuel Zelaya http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,529885,00.html. According to the Associated Press, ‘Micheletti's supporters say the army was justified in ousting Zelaya — on orders of Congress and the Supreme Court — because he had called a referendum which they claim he intended to use to extend his rule. Zelaya denies that and has said he will no longer press for constitutional changes’ http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090704/ap_on_re_la_am_ca/lt_honduras_coup . It appears there may be an overwhelming support of the coup, ousting President Zelaya, as the Hondurans Congress has named Roberto Micheletti President, and he immediately declared a Democracy for all Hondurans. From the Tico Times, ‘…United Nations and the Organization of American States (OAS), which gave the de facto government 72 hours to cede power. The ultimatum, which could result in expulsion of Honduras from the OAS in the event Zelaya is not reinstated, expires July 4’ http://www.ticotimes.net/topstoryarchive/2009_07/070309.htm. President Obama is "wrong" in his effort to save former President Manuel Zelaya, who was coddling up to Venezuela President Hugo Chavez, Cuban Prime Minister Fidel Castro, Iranian President Ahmadinejad, and others of the Socialist and/or Communist leaders http://www.venezuelanalysis.com/news/3752. The Honduran coup was successful on orders of Congress and the Supreme Court in preserving a free democracy. President Obama must support the majority free Democracy over all totalitarianism governments. That is what America had stood in support of for over 233 years. The leaders in Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, and similar restrictive systems of its people are opposed to a true Democracy. I inspire President Obama to reverse his current position in support of a free democracy. Costa Rican President Oscar Arias will mediate the standoff between former Honduran President Manuel Zelaya and the current President Micheletti regime that overthrew him http://www.nowpublic.com/world/honduras-news-oscar-arias-mediate-zelaya-micheletti-talks. The Pesident of the OAS was directly involved with the 4 clowns of ALBA to get Zelaya back to power and incorporate Honduras to the group. The 2 main Countrys to create this situation are Cuba's experience And Venezuela's dollars coming from the oil sold to the US and of course the OAS president that is part of the combo. Latin America has to learn from the behaivior and action taken by the Homduran Congress, Supreme Court and the Armed forces that did not allowed a communist takeover.

From the leader of the Honduran coup: "He negociado con maricones, prostitutas, con ñángaras (izquierdistas), negros, blancos. Ese es mi trabajo, yo estudié eso. No tengo prejuicios raciales, me gusta el negrito del batey que está presidiendo los Estados Unidos." -------- "I have negotiated with queers, prostitutes, leftists, blacks, whites. This is my job, I studied for it. I am not racially prejudiced. I like the little black sugar plantation worker who is president of the United States." If the people behind the Honduran coup are looking to garner support in the United States, statements like this from their leader will rather limit the scope of that support except among the sort no one is proud to have supporting them.

What would we do in the United States if our president directly disobeyed the U.S. Supreme Court, the United States Congress, fired the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of State for refusing to engage in illegal activities? The recent Gallop poll shows that Honduran Citizens support the oster of the faciast Zelaya by over 2 to 1. That they were against Zelaya forming a "National Assembly" aka Chavez style by more than 3 to 1. The Honduran military reported that when they siezed the ballot boxes from the Presidential Palace when Zelaya was arrested, they were already full of "yes" ballots. Zelaya had already rigged the vote to give him power to change the constitution. I say congratulations and great job to the Honduran Supreme Court for ordering the arrest of the traitor Zelaya. Good job to the Honduran Congress for voting to support the Honduran Supreme Court and the Honduran Armed Forces who were obeying the rule of law in arresting a traitor. I thank President Michelleti for accepting congresses vote in selecting him to be the interm President until the national elections in November and the new President is sworn in January 2010. President Michelleti has stated that he will not be on the ballot in November, thus showing that he is a selfless patriot of Honduras.
