Richard Viguerie: Tea Party Activists Are the New GOP
Written by Richard Viguerie on October 31, 2009, 04:15 PM
The following is a statement by Richard A. Viguerie, Chairman of ConservativeHQ.com, concerning the withdrawal of GOP candidate Dede Scozzafava from the special election in New York’s 23rd congressional district:

“In her statement announcing suspension of her campaign in the special election for New York’s 23rd congressional district, Assemblywoman and liberal GOP nominee Dede Scozzafava refused to throw her support behind a fellow Republican, Doug Hoffman, who is running on the Conservative Party ticket in this particular race.

“That was one more example of the ‘closed tent’ mentality of big-government, establishment Republicans who have worked long and hard to keep conservatives out of power at the national, state, and local levels.

“The GOP leadership’s backing of Ms. Scozzafava was a slap in the face to Tea Party activists, town hall protesters, and conservatives across the country. The Washington GOP establishment’s abandonment of fiscal responsibility led directly to the election of Barack Obama as President and Nancy Pelosi as Speaker. The American people see the GOP leadership and establishment every bit as much a part of the problem as the Democrats.

“Doug Hoffman and NY-23 is an earthquake in American politics, and is the first of many challenges to establishment Republicans that we will see for the 2010 elections and beyond. The stupid decision by Republican leaders to pour $900,000 into the NY-23rd race against a conservative has unleashed a fury that will lead to new GOP leadership.

“Conservatives anger at Washington-establishment Republicans will cost the national committees tens of millions of dollars as conservative money will start flowing directly to the Tea Parties and their candidates.”

Democrats = Communists Republicans = Corporate Nazis They are two sides of the very same coin of elitists bankers. The Republicans only wish they could hijack the Tea Party goers. Demand 1 term limits for everybody and if they are in, vote them out until we get it done. VOTE INDEPENDENT.

Dear Mr. Vigueri, First let me thank you for tirelessly working for liberty over the past years. Your efforts and successes have been remarkable. Please let me suggest that there is a key factor missing in our war with anti-liberty socialistic liberalism today which our Founding Fathers understood was a necessary part of attaining and holding liberty and which they gave much credit to and used for their victory in our American Revolution. This is simply prayer. Most of our Founders understood the importance of God in freedom. They understood that our right to liberty comes from God. They understood the power of prayer in a good cause. They prayed to God for guidance and help and they received it and they openly thanked God for it and gave him credit for their success. I'm asking that you include and encourage others to include this spiritual element in our fight. Without it our victories will be hard to attain and even harder to maintain. Prayer is a most powerful force. The painting of George Washington kneeling in the snow praying at a very dark time in the Revolution is a very powerful image. Surely if the Father of our nation could humbly get down on his knees and pray to God for help and guidance then certainly we can too and if we do, we also shall be successful in our cause. Thank you very much.

I don't get it? Why should the GOP leadership funnel money to a different partie's candidate? They are honorbound to fund the GOP nominee. This article makes no sense, unless the GOP candidate was given GOP funds in a primary, against another conservative candidate. That wouldn't be cricket. Maybe the next time, the voters, in the district will nominate a conservative, under the GOP label, who will not sell out to big government/big corporate interests.

So these people, http://moronswithsigns.blogspot.com/ , are the new GOP? God save us all.
