Richard Viguerie on the Mount Vernon Statement
 
(Manassas, Virginia) The following is a comment by Richard A. Viguerie, Chairman of ConservativeHQ.com, regarding the signing of the Mount Vernon Statement:
 
“Because today is my 48th wedding anniversary, I’m not able to be at the Conservative Action Project (CAP) in Alexandria.
 
“However, I am pleased to be a signer of the Mount Vernon Statement.
 
“I feel it’s a good first step, and I applaud those conservatives who have provided the leadership to produce this statement of conservative principles.
 
“In the coming weeks, I look forward to working with all principled conservatives, including the newest branch of the small-limited government coalition, the Tea Partiers, to take the steps necessary to maximize our victories in 2010 and beyond.
 
“For years, I’ve said the number one problem for the cause of limited government is that many conservatives became an appendage of the GOP.
 
“The GOP lost control of Congress in 2006 and the White House in 2008, not because of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Barack Obama, but because of George Bush, Karl Rove, Tom DeLay, Denny Hastert, Bill Frist, and other big-government Republicans.
 
“Hopefully, the Mount Vernon Statement will draw a line to clearly separate the principled conservatives from the majority of Washington politicians (Republican and Democratic) who want to continue to expand the reach, power, control, and influence of government at all levels.”

Considering that I live in Mount Vernon, NY; I am all for small government. We have to take control of our own lives and the only way to do that is keep pounding the senators; congressman, etc. Of course, they are ignoring us, but we're not going away until get the message. THE PEOPLE WANTS THIS ADMINISTRATION OUT. If we hired them; then we can fire them in November.

It is only when we blame ourselves for what we've done (voting for change and liberals) and then forgive ourselves as a nation for allowing morality, principles and traditions to be flushed down the toilet that we can move on. The truth is that the American people didn't pay attention to the corruption that was becoming increasingly worse in the government. They didn't want to get involved. I know. I am a long time political activist who has fought on the front lines against corruption most of my life, but more so since 1989 after I started the first group in the nation helping victims of legal abuse and proposing new laws. My group made a silent difference in the courts as well as proposing laws. Remember, without justice, there is nothing but corruption, tyranny, and persecutions. So, after many years of patriots such as myself warning Americans on cable TV and talk radio who didn't want to get involved because of fear of retaliation which is real, the liberals appear to be ignoring the Will of the people and shoving everything they can down the throats of the American people against their will while the American people are losing their jobs, homes, retirements, and freedoms and the blind liberals democrats are ignoring the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights and their oaths of office. They swore to uphold the U.S. Constitution. Ironically, the government is justifying why they are spending multi-millions of our tax dollars during a deep depression to try terrorists aka war criminals aka enemy combatants (because of the insanity of political correctness which should be kicked out of the English vocabulary forever), comfortable and providing them with the best U.S. legal attorneys and judges and court system that the U.S. taxpayers can buy. Ironically, Americans can't afford attorneys or can't afford to buy justice. This in my opinion is reckless liberal spending of our tax dollars by those in the White House. In fact, the courts are closing down a few days per month and cutting hours and staff because we're bankrupt, especially in California as well as DMV, so why the special treatment for anti-American enemies who state they'd do it again, have no remorse, and said they want to wipe us off the face of the map? Does any of this make any sense when that money could be used to maintain the courts for U.S. citizens? Yet, our U.S. Navy Seals are being tried in military tribunals for a few dollars per day because they captured the enemy and the anti-American enemy combatant says he was allegedly slapped or punched after the same enemy combatant tortured, murdered, and dragged four U.S. citizens through their streets and hung two by the bridge, but this topic doesn't seem to get much press. No special funding or treatment for the U.S. Navy Seals to my knowledge. So, my talk radio show, "Issues of the Day," that addressed these issues started off with "Wake up, America!" back in 1989-1993 and my cable talk TV that addressed these issues 1990-2004 when so many Americans refused to stand up and fight back. But, after 12 years of patriotic activists, who are called conspiracy nuts, put themselves on the line to wake up America, we are now happy to witness the American people awakened and pulling their heads out of the sand. Most Americans are loyal patriots who love their country and are now joining forces and uniting peacefully. They've pulled themselves out of bed with their new enlightenment, put on their combat boots, picked up their imaginary arms aka petitions, votes, and protests, and are now beginning to march to the same drum beat while chanting a new slogan, "Just Vote Them Out." Yes We Can, "Just Vote Them Out." God Bless 'em. Together, we can bring change in November 2010 and 2012.

The significance of this signing harkens back to the WF Buckley statement signing back in the early 60's. The key to that signing was that it brought togerter the different stands of conservative thought that previously had similar thoughts, but acted on them (or didn't) in different uncoordinated ways. This was the moment when right, the eastern elite, the wayward former commies, the non government croud unified on what they all agreed on, the founding principles and became a force that changed the outcomes of elections. These groups have fractured since 1988 and with their seperation so went their power to enforce the ideals of conservative governence. Hopefully this group will pick up where the group left off when they seperated. The key element that Richard brings up is the Tea Partiers, this group of individual citizens are the power that can propel the ideas of the signers of the Mount Vernon Statement into control over the existing political parties

The beast has grown at gargantuan proportions. And it keeps on growing because we let them sucking us dry. I am sure the Republicans are going to capture a few seats in Congress this fall, maybe become the majority AGAIN, they will do what their predecessors did for a decade, rubber stamping Bush’s policies, in 2012 or 2014 the democrats are going to come back as majority and the cycle repeats itself until no more USA. We will soon have USSA. The elite will live in opulence and the plebeians in barracks working for the elite. The plebeians will eventually be wondering what happened.

For what it's worth, I believe in the Declaration of Independence which states: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.” Right now we are at the mercy of a government that has lost its beliefs, values, honor and position. Our elected officials are supposed to be in a position of service. "Of the people, by the people, and for the people” This government is taking from the poor in the name of recession and giving to international bankers like AIG, The Federal Reserve (which is a bank) and Giant corporations like GM and other automotive companies in the name of bailouts. We the United States of America is bankrupt and still borrowing money as if we can spend our way out of Debt. The bible states in Proverbs 22:7 “The poor are ruled by the rich, and those who borrow are slaves to the moneylenders,” What foreign country will we be slaves to? We the people need to take back our country. We need to pay the debt we owe. And we need to NOT BORROW ANY MORE MONY. There is one other scripture I would like to quote from the wisest of men to ever walk this earth, King Solomon Proverbs 30:8-9 (New International Version) 8 Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. 9 Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, 'Who is the LORD?' Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God.
