Richard Viguerie: Stevens Conviction Symptomatic of Culture of Corruption in Politics
Written by Richard Viguerie on 2008-10-28T00:23:43+00:00
The conviction of Senator Ted Stevens, the senior Republican in the U.S. Senate, is “just a symptom of the corruption that has infected Republicans and Democrats alike,” Richard A. Viguerie, Chairman of ConservativeHQ.com, said.

“That infection is spreading through Washington and all of American politics, from the houses of Congress to the courthouses,” Viguerie said.

“Sometimes, as in the ethanol subsidy program or in the bailout of Wall Street millionaires, the level of corruption is so large that it’s hard for the mind to grasp.  It’s like an Enron a day,” he said.

Viguerie noted that Republican reformers who have stood up to the GOP establishment have been targeted for retaliation.

“Republicans and Democrats, liberals and conservatives, politicians of all stripes should understand that, since they won’t take action to clean up their own houses, the American people will do it for them,” he said.

Great post. Stevens was found guilty of financial corruption. Barack Obama is guilty of constitutional corruption. In a speech Tuesday night to the Tipton County Republicans of Tennessee I argued that Senator Obama is not a natural born citizen and therefore not eligible to serve as President. His stonewalling tactics and failure to authorize the release of documents related to his birth show contempt for both the Constitution and the American political process. Rather than address the issue of Ted Stevens, I'd just like to say that after hearing McCain picked Pail for vice-president I did a little research and have not stopped smiling since. I hope she runs in 2012 and in 2016 and in 2020 and in 2024. By the then the Democrats should have cleaned up the mess Bush is leaving them

hey Richard A. Viguerie! Why do you quote yourself in your own article? Richard A. Viguerie said this and that and wait it is his own website. I'm Big Rod and I loved Bush but hate Mccain. Palin is an attractive and so I think she's smart because how else can you earn money to buy such nice clothes? What if Palin wore a Richard A. Viguerie and even wore it to the Richard A. Viguerie! I hope its not paid for by Richard A. Viguerie because the rest of us Richard A. Viguerie would really be scared she's taking our money and giving it to the scum bags who never deserve money to begin with! Like the Antarcticans!

I am ready to join a Conservative Party. I am tired of people claiming to be conservatives, like President Bush, and then spending taxpayers money like there is no tomorrow. Most Americans are fiascally conservative and if the social conservative issues could be adddressed a Conservative Party could be highly successful. It is clearly evident that we have very few elected individuals in Congress who are conservative.

The Repubs have become much worse than the Demos this time around -- may the GOP hijackers be ditched and reformed by a bottom-up conservative rabble that honors the Constitution, including restraint in finance and war. The Rovian Repubs and their annointed are least-common-denominator again. Hockey VPs and Joe-the-what? -- who are they kidding? Americans are smarter than that. We need thoughtful, educated and experienced leadership. Repubs are rotten after the past 8 years. The heros now are the party mutineers. Stevens and at least some of the others would have been spared by term limits. The Demos and the heros must -- imperatively -- work across the aisle to save our Republic. Please go back to the Constitution now.

Today is election day! Time to vote every dishonest and spend-thrift Repub war-monger and fear-monger out of office and start over. John Dean wrote a right-on post on Saturday headlined "It Is Now Absolutely Crystal Clear That Republican Rule Is Dangerous and Authoritarian". This is where we are! Ron Paul writes in his book "The Revolution" -- where we ought to go. The Constitution guides us how to get there. Our country, our veterans and our citizens deserve so much better than the result of the last eight years.
