2018 Elections

Blue Wave Balderdash

David Catron, The American Spectator

This couldn’t come at a worse time for the Democrats. Once-loyal supporters are becoming disillusioned and joining the #WalkAway movement, rejecting the party that presided over slavery, the KKK, Jim Crow, segregation, and the welfare plantation. The turnout they need won’t be there. Democrat claims to the contrary are nothing more than swamp gas, noxious effluvia from the bowels of a moribund Beltway beast.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Is Joe Biden a threat to steal Trump’s Make America Great Again voters?

Time will tell whether Joe Biden does run for president and if Trump will retain his solid hold on certain Democrat voting constituencies. For now, Trump’s trade policies appear to be paying off with economic wins and new achievements. As for the rest, let the political games commence.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: To truly be like Reagan Trump must morph into a big government slayer

Comparisons between Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump will continue as long as the current president emulates The Gipper’s America First playbook. Trump would do well to copy Reagan in one other respect – to call for big reductions in spending. If he does so, popularity will certainly ensue.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Dems show symptoms of acute Brett Kavanaugh derangement syndrome

It’s strange how the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh devolved into a deeply personal matter for Democrats. Their over-the-top protestations about the judge’s background and supposed lack of candor are making themselves look foolish. But since when do Democrats care about such things?

Outsiders vs. Insiders: RINO carbon tax reminds us the power to tax is the power to destroy

Legendary Chief Justice John Marshall once wrote that the power to tax is the power to destroy – and it’s never been truer than it is today. All Americans pay way too much in taxes – and the government spends even more than it takes in – politicians should keep the lesson in mind.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Take that Michelle Obama -- Democrats go low even when Trump goes high

Democrats aren’t doing a very good job of “going high” as Michelle Obama advised them to do two years ago. The party’s lack of substantive policy ideas forces Democrats to defend defenseless positions and relentlessly bash everything Trump does. Will voters make them pay?

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Trump asks ‘Why can’t we be friends?’ and critics won’t stop ripping him

Trump’s critics will continue hemming and hawing over his non-traditional approach to relations with Russia but he sets the policy and on balance it’s a sound one. Hopefully there will soon come a time when he won’t have to ask “Why can’t we be friends?” and face condemnation.

New Poll: Conservatives Say Kavanaugh Will Boost GOP In Midterms

Almost 95% of those polled by FedUp PAC say the Kavanaugh nomination will boost the GOP in the midterms because “most Americans support the Constitution and want Supreme Court justices who will follow it.”  Less than 4% think the nomination will hurt Republicans this fall.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: How California dreamin’ devolved into a liberal American nightmare

California remains the butt of jokes simply because its political leadership is granted free license to be as nutty as they want to be without fear of electoral rebuke. It’s a liberal politician’s dream; unfortunately for the rest of us California’s devolved into an American nightmare.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Why are Democrats trying to seize the stupid party label from the GOP?

Democrats can’t help themselves in trying to seize the “stupid party” label from the GOP. If the minority party continues committing political hara-kiri by calling for the abolishment of ICE, they deserve everything they get. Republicans should simply stand by and watch the implosion.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Trump steamrolls DC ruling class on the road to American rebrand

It's no secret Donald Trump will never be accepted as a member of the DC ruling class, but his backers don’t care and he himself is far from bothered by it. Trump will succeed in his drive to improve the American brand – whether the media or political elites ride along is irrelevant.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: International allies and competitors learn Trumpism transcends borders

One of President Trump’s best attributes is his ability to shake off criticism and do what’s right for the American people. Establishmentarians may not appreciate Trump’s style, but he gets results. It’s a lesson NATO allies – and our enemies – are relearning every day.

Fall Forecast: An Anti-Leftist Electoral Rout

Michael Ledeen, PJ Media

It seems that the leftist takeovers of the media and the education system are running out of steam. I’ll not be astonished at violence in the streets over the Kavanaugh nomination, but I don’t think it will lead to mass protests of the sort that accompanied the McGovern disaster. Worst of all for the Dems and their “intellectual” fellow-travelers, their distortion of the history of the past couple of centuries has caught up with them, and they are now speaking and writing on behalf of the modern world’s biggest losers.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Donald Trump may be the world’s most unlikely liberator of all time

It’s often said all politics is local but it could just as easily be argued politics is national and global as well. Political leaders win favor by advancing ideas and principles that people can relate to. Republicans would do well to remember folks are drawn to real ideas, not just smears.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: #NeverTrumpers make it plain they enjoy being lonely outside the party

Luckily for conservatives President Trump has lived up to his campaign promises and is leading the most principled government since Ronald Reagan. Trump’s “conservative” opponents won’t acknowledge the writing on the wall, leaving them alone and outside the party. Literally.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Kavanaugh nomination to trigger 2018 version of DC political apocalypse

There’s no doubt the next few months will be an exciting time to be in Washington. All eyes will be on the senate as the two parties deliberate over Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s future. Democrats won’t hold back on the ferocity of their attacks on the man – will the republic survive?

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Are unhinged Democrats on the verge of starting a violent insurrection?

Tensions in America aren’t dying down and ugly incidents are becoming the norm. The left is desperate to release the rage it feels over Donald Trump – and people like Juan Williams aren’t helping things. With a Supreme Court nomination to deal with now, it’ll only get worse.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Suicidal Democrats risk disaster by defending the remorseless Waters

Liberals may think they’re laying the groundwork for political success by backing their own no matter what anyone says or does but they’re really just setting themselves up for failure. Maxine Waters has become a lightning rod for a reason – Democrats are suicidal to follow her lead.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Immigration quagmire exposes both parties’ leadership deficit in DC

Leadership is in short supply for both parties and the American political situation has deteriorated because of it. No progress will ever be made on immigration until Republicans elect leaders willing to stand up for President Trump’s common-sense reforms. Democrats are simply hopeless.

Jon Tester is no partner of President Trump

Donald Trump Jr., USA Today

Jon Tester is no partner of President Trump. If we want to keep Montana strong and growing, we need to elect people who will support the President’s agenda — such as Senate candidate Matt Rosendale. True economic growth comes from within, not under the regulatory heel of Washington. It’s time we send Jon Tester back home and elect someone who will serve as a genuine partner of my father and his remarkable economic growth agenda.
