The United States exists as an idea. We are a nation which was not naturally formed due to geography, language or a shared history. Being an American stems from the idea of freedom. If you can demonize those who established that idea, remove them from the public square and even make it dangerous to discuss or laud them, America itself begins to disappear. The left knows this full well.
