As a recent NewsBusters study shows, so far in this news cycle, the major networks have skewed the coverage of the effort to defund Obamacare to make it look like the repeal effort is not about Obamacare’s failed business model and job killing taxes and regulations, it’s all about Planned Parenthood.
The divide between the GOP establishment and House conservatives could not have been starker on "Meet the Press" Sunday as House Freedom Caucus member Rep. Dave Brat and moderate Rep. Charlie Dent took the gloves off. Brat accused Dent of siding with Nancy Pelosi and blasted him for saying that conservatives should be punished for not toeing leadership's line.
Congressmen Peter King and Charlie Dent claim that the “slimdown” is hurting Republicans because the polls show the public blames the GOP for such inconveniences as the National Parks being closed. If King and Dent want to govern by the polls, and not principles, then this is an issue really worth fighting for; not only because it is an equality under the law issue, it is also an issue that polls something like 92 percent in Republicans’ favor.
