Elizabeth Warren

Playing percentages of the noble blood

Wesley Pruden, Washington Times

Mrs. Warren repaired to eugenics and higher math the other day, all to prove that she’s enough Indian to be chief squaw on the reservation. She sent off to have her genes examined and they came back with barely a passing grade. Someone has suggested that the president should, in a burst of charity, send Mrs. Warren a check for $976.56, or about 1/1024th of a million dollars, since Mrs. Warren is 1/1024th of an Indian. Any woman, or man, recruited from the street to submit to an ancestry test would find out that he or she is kin to the darnedest people. It’s the source of our nation’s pride.

We're All Indians Now

President Donald Trump seems to effortlessly induce Democrats to do dumb stuff that exposes their lies, hypocrisy and contempt for the intelligence of their fellow Americans. The President’s latest triumph in this regard is the revelation of the results of Senator Elizabeth “Fauxcahontas” Warren’s DNA test.

Democrat Senator Joe Donnelly: Woke Or Wuss?

Indiana's Democratic Senator Joe Donnelly’s carefully cultivated image as a “conservative Democrat” is in shambles, because not only was it a fraud to begin with, but it is now a position that is decidedly out of favor among the Democratic Party’s most motivated voters.

Fauxcahontas Speaks With Forked Tongue About Opioid Crisis

David Catron, The American Spectator

Warren's not only raking in huge amounts of wampum, she’s building up political IOUs in states without whose electoral votes no presidential candidate can expect to make it to the Big White Teepee. And to punch up her résumé, she has gone on the warpath against the opioid crisis using the same kind of phony stats she used in her medical bankruptcy studies. Yet she declines repeated requests for a DNA sample that would prove she’s a genuine Native American.

The Confederate Mind

Victor Davis Hanson, National Review

A century from now, our successors are likely to be as bewildered by the classifications of affirmative action and designated safe spaces as we are by segregation and “separate but equal” schools. A century after the Civil War, in reaction to the legacy of the Confederacy, progressives fought for integration; a century and a half after the Civil War, progressives are channeling the one-drop rule and advocating race-based dorms, safe spaces, and race-themed houses.

Elizabeth Warren loves corporate America putting its thumb on the political scales

Editors, Washington Examiner

Warren sits on the Banking Committee. Everyone knows she wants to run for president. Wall Street won't risk telling her to buzz off. What better way to gain control over the political activities of powerful companies than to increase the regulation and subsidization of top financiers? Washington is a tawdry place, and politicians often conceal their motives. Warren, by contrast, doesn't try very hard to hide what she's up to.

Living and Dying by Identity Politics

Jonathan S. Tobin, National Review

Warren’s supporters point to the fact that Scott Brown, her 2012 Senate opponent, didn’t seem to profit from his campaign’s emphasis on the “fake Indian” issue. But once she’s competing for liberal votes in Democratic primaries, rather than counting, as she did then, on her party uniting behind her no matter what the opposition says, it will be a very different story. She’ll likely discover that the game she’s playing is a lot more dangerous on the national stage than it was in Massachusetts.

CIDs Dangerous Anti-Fourth Amendment Weapons of the Administrative State

Civil Investigative Demands have become weapons of the administrative state. They have even exceeded their New Deal origins, and have become perhaps the most dangerous institutionalized violation of the Bill of Rights.

Tolerance for Elizabeth Warren's Fake News

L. Brent Bozell III and Tim Graham, CNS News

Elizabeth Warren falsely claimed in a professional directory to be descended from Cherokee Indians, so as to be listed as a minority when she was hired as a professor. When Trump makes fun of her by calling her "Pocahontas," the networks get oh so upset and call it a "racial slur." But they don't seem to care one iota about how American Indians feel regarding white people who take on a fake minority identity.

Media Are Wrong To Say Trump’s ‘Pocahontas’ Insult Of Warren Is Racist

Mollie Hemingway, The Federalist

The typical insult for Warren among her critics isn’t Pocahontas, but “Fauxcahontas.” For some reason Trump just goes with Pocahontas. These are not insults of Native Americans, but of people falsely claiming to be Native Americans. And one need not be that smart to understand that. It’s a low bar, yet one that a press corps engaged in pie trutherism over the weekend might be unable to meet.

Democrats Cover Up Menendez And Weinstein Corruption

While the salacious details of the Weinstein and Menendez affairs have occupied the public mind a more important question is left unaddressed: What did the other Democrats know about these two corrupt sexual predators and when did they know it?

Will Democrats Bet That Their Party Can Fly with Only a Left Wing?

John Fund, National Review

Democrats are delusional if they now think that moving to the left will improve their prospects. It’s their left-wing tilt that voters revolted against throughout the Obama years. Putting all their bets on a Trump tailspin is precisely the kind of wishful wager that an old casino operator like Trump was always glad to see foolish gamblers make at his tables.

The Warren-Sanders Presidency

Daniel Henninger, Wall Street Journal

Do not for a moment think Elizabeth Warren is barnstorming the country now only to elect Hillary Clinton. She’s getting out the vote to make sure Elizabeth Warren is in position next year to co-run the government from Capitol Hill.

Donald Trump Apologizes to Pocahontas

Steve Guest, Daily Caller

Donald Trump admitted that he regrets calling Sen. Elizabeth Warren “Pocahontas” because “I think it’s a tremendous insult to Pocahontas.”

Where Should Conservatives Stand On Trade Promotion Authority?

Paul Ryan and Ted Cruz have made a powerful argument that trade deals are good for the economy, good for job creation and good for American international competitiveness and that when we have a trade agreement with a country we tend to have a trade surplus, when we don’t have one we tend to have a trade deficit. So why the discomfort on the Right with giving President Obama the same kind of Trade Promotion Authority Congress gave President George W. Bush?

Why Elizabeth Warren won’t run and Jeb Bush won’t win

Jamelle Bouie, Slate Magazine

Bush would have trouble with actual Republican voters, while in the Democratic Party field Hillary Clinton towers over every potential competitor, including VP Joe Biden and far-left Senator Elizabeth Warren.

The Cromnibus Aids Crony Capitalism

A. Barton Hinkle, Reason

Give far-left Democrat Elizabeth Warren credit when credit is due; she is right about the cronyism in the hated CRomnibus spending bill. The Cromnibus removes an important barrier to future taxpayer bailouts of big banks.

Vichy Republicans

Not only did Boehner and McConnell drop their rifles without firing a shot and run in the face of the enemy, they then joined the tyranny of the enemy in oppressing the patriots who wanted to keep fighting.

The Real Fight Is Among The Dems

Charles Krauthammer, Human Events

While R's are debating the tactics of stopping presidential lawlessness, an inherently difficult congressional undertaking, particularly if you still control only a single house, Dems are trying to figure out what they believe and whom they represent.
