James Comey

DOJ Says Comey Wasn’t Honest In Senate Hearing

Alex Pfeiffer, Daily Caller

Comey testified that when he told Sessions that he should prevent any “future direct communication between the President and me,” the attorney general didn’t reply. The DOJ said in a statement, “The Attorney General was not silent; he responded to this comment by saying that the FBI and Department of Justice needed to be careful about following appropriate policies regarding contacts with the White House.”

James Comey's Russia Rorschach test

W. James Antle III, Washington Examiner

Trump supporters came away thinking Comey didn't lay a glove on the president and instead exposed himself as a craven political operator and the kind of leaker that Trump is trying to hunt down. To Trump's opponents, Comey heroically resisted the president's attempt to an influence an FBI investigation into former national security adviser Mike Flynn and was summarily fired for his independence.

James Comey: The Incredible Shrinking Man

Perhaps if James Comey had known his Rudyard Kipling a bit better he might have chosen a different metaphor for himself than Captains Courageous, like the one where Kipling said, Now, don't be angry after you've been afraid. That's the worst kind of cowardice.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Are Trump’s tweets really killing his agenda?

It’s understandable why Trump seeks to bypass the media and speak unfiltered with the voters by tweeting. Such an ambition is not only necessary, it’s noble. It’s also evident he needs some sort of a balance where he’s no longer hurting his agenda 140 characters (or less) at a time.

Comey’s First Soft Shoe Drops

Ross Kaminsky, The American Spectator

It’s hard to see how Thursday’s Senate testimony by James Comey will offer nearly the drama that CNN and other Trump opponents breathlessly hope for. Not only has Comey laid out a story that is not especially harmful to the president, but which would be harmful for Comey to then contradict, we should also remember that Comey has always positioned himself as the last honest man in Washington, a reputation which he certainly hopes to capitalize on with a seven-figure white-shoe law firm partnership.

Comey Hearing 'Much Ado About LESS Than Nothing'

Roger L. Simon, PJ Media

Amidst the unending parsing of words, repetition of questions asked a hundred times before, and tedious media recaps of information readily available last August is an absolute waste of U.S. taxpayer time and money.  Every second spent on this interminable nonsense is a second that could be spent infinitely more productively solving one of the nation's and the world's increasingly serious problems.

James Comey: Everything You Need To Know In One Line

There was one line in his written testimony that summed up everything you need to know about James Comey, why he was fired and why he was such a danger to constitutional government: "the FBI’s traditionally independent status in the executive branch."

Outsiders vs. Insiders: ‘Hard votes’ no excuse for GOP leaders to avoid pushing Trump’s agenda

We need to stop making excuses for Congress and refuse to give them an “out” for failing to do what they’re supposed to do. They are sent to Washington to take part in the process and govern the country according to the will of the People. It’s about time they started doing it.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Media should swallow their own Comey nothing-burger with relish

Liberals and Democrats will pull out all the stops to make James Comey’s senate testimony into a big deal, but the former FBI Director’s appearance will no doubt prove to be a nothing-burger, one that the establishment media should be made to swallow on its own.

Far Left Anti-Trump NSA Leaker Arrested

One is left wondering what kind of background check Ms. Winner was given prior to and during her employment and how, in view of these social media red flags, she was given access to sensitive intelligence about the FBI investigation into Russian influence operations in the United States.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: All hands needed on deck to defend Trump from the leftist fringe

Trump the man may not be as popular as conservatives and Republicans would hope for, but his policies are winners; so too is the president’s drive to make America great again. If recent history is any indication Trump is more than willing to do whatever it takes to get there, too.

Outside the Beltway, Republicans Couldn't Care Less About Comey

Katie Glueck, Kansas City Star

Many consider the broader Russia issue as, at best, a distraction from issues like health care and the economy. And others saw the swirling questions around Russia—including the Comey investigation and coming testimony—as pure partisanship driven by Democrats and the media to undermine the legitimacy of Donald Trump’s victory last November.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Hillary and Joe clown act sets stage for a real 2020 Democrat sideshow

If we take up a collection to help Hillary Clinton pay for the significant amount of mental help she obviously requires we'd run into a real problem because in fairness we would need to provide the same support to every deranged liberal in America -- and that's a lot.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Democrats’ empty plate of lies on Russia leaves them wholly unsatisfied

The left cannot be bargained with; its shock troops don’t listen to reason and don’t care in the slightest that they’re perceived as violent disruptors. They feast on chaos, which I guess helps to make up for the lack of substance they’re able to ingest in matters like the Russia probe.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Just how low will the sick establishment media culture go?

What at one time was an organ for reporting facts for public digestion now has devolved into a tabloid industry that feeds off of our sick culture’s hunger for bad news. Like Roman emperors, the media gives the people what they seem to crave – blood and despair.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Dems and GOP centrists vie for title of lead Trump obstructionists

Now that focus returns to domestic policy, plenty of obstruction awaits Trump and conservatives from the left and the establishment center as well. The resistance to change isn’t always partisan and ideological; it will be an uphill battle to truly drain the swamp in Washington.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: This summer, brace yourself for the season of all-out political war

Our president is going to need help in the days to come. The Democrats will see any increase in Trump’s popularity as a sign they need to ramp-up their vitriolic distracting Russia nonsense. It isn’t about pleasing one demographic group or constituency anymore; it’s all out political war.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: At long last Trump budget puts American taxpayers above tax takers

The left and the establishment want to be rid of Trump because he represents a true departure from the status quo in Washington. Trump’s budget is proof positive there’s a new game in town. Would Jeb Bush have proposed to drastically reduce social spending?

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Why chasing ghosts in the Trump/Russia affair will cost Dems dearly

Democrats and the media are hanging all their hopes on the unlikely prospect that some damaging evidence will turn up linking Trump to Russia. When it doesn’t happen – and they have to return to talking about the issues – they’ll face an angry public just itching to make them pay.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Media will bash Trump mercilessly until Americans decide it's too much

The country won’t improve until Americans call out the media in large enough numbers to not only affect the bottom-line, but also pull the plug on the false assumptions underlying the liberal agenda. Only then will we realize how much is too much.
