Assault on America, Day 7: Style over substance is the way of the new Democrat House majority

As long as there’s a Democrat pretty face and an American establishment media to exploit it, expect more fawning and groveling over someone like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Style over substance or practicality is the way of the left -- the crazier the idea, the more they love it.

Assault on America, Day 6: How long will voter ignorance fuel Dems in shutdown tug-of-war?

Both sides blame the other for perpetuating the government shutdown. Democrats continue relying on the ignorance of voters to make their arguments stick, a situation where eventually good common sense should prevail. Trump can take matters into his own hands…should he?

Senator Lindsey Graham Makes A Great Point

Sen. Lindsey Graham said Sunday, “We’ll have offers on the table when we find somebody that’s not crazy to deal with…” judging by what the Democrats’ leaders are saying it looks like it is going to be a long shutdown, if it can’t end until someone who is not crazy represents them at the negotiating table.

Assault on America, Day 5: Reaction to Romney op-ed tantrum shows RINOs on the run in DC

Joining with the enemy makes you a traitor and earns nothing but derision from decent people. If you don’t believe it ask (former) Senators Flake and Corker how they’re feeling these days. Mitt Romney will survive his latest brush with political death -- but he shouldn’t go tempting fate any longer.

Democrats Keep Their Promises

Much as we dislike the substance of the Democrats’ promises, as Republican Rep. Tom Reed’s flirtation with voting for the Democratic rules package demonstrates, it is hard to argue with the appeal of politicians who actually do what they say they will do, even if what they promise is a disaster waiting to happen.

Assault on America, Day 2: Democrats thumb nose at America by choosing Pelosi as Speaker

Don’t expect Americans to greet “new” Speaker Nancy Pelosi with smiles and embraces. Pelosi hasn’t changed from a decade ago when she was one of the most despised politicians in the country. Lovers of limited government should see her as a worthy antagonist -- and then oppose everything she does.

Spawn Of The Fake Steele Dossier

What research on the Steele dossier has slowly revealed is the scope and logistics of the information operation designed to sabotage an American election. Players include the press, political operatives from both parties, and law enforcement and intelligence officials.

Assault on America, Day 1: Mitt Romney fires next volley in elitist war on MAGA agenda

#NeverTrumpers like Mitt Romney won’t ever get onboard with the conservative agenda. The swamp dwelling ruling elites are too preoccupied with preserving their own power and playing nice with the opposition to “do the right thing.” Trump will be Trump -- and he’ll win in the end.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Democrats’ reckoning a safe bet in a certain to be tumultuous 2019

The always festive New Year’s celebrations were the calm before the storm where 2019’s political battles are concerned. 2018’s strife only figures to worsen now that liberals feel empowered to act on their aims. Democrats happily wall themselves off from reality -- an impossibility in 2019.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Prediction -- Democrat excess leads to new and improved Trump in 2019

DC elites were thrown into a tizzy when Trump won two years ago and looked perplexed as he laid out his America First vision during his inaugural address. This refusal to confront the reality of Trump isn’t likely to dissipate when Democrats take power in the House. How’s that for a prediction?

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Will Trump win his own ‘Battle of the Alamo’ even if no one survives?

By now President Trump realizes it’s not fun being in the White House, but nobody ever claimed it'd be easy (except for maybe him). It took decades for the Washington establishment to control government and they won’t be vanquished without a long battle. Trump is up to the job.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Plenty of good reasons why compromise is a dirty word in America today

Talk will continue on possible ways to fix the shattered American political system but in today’s highly divided culture and society, a workable solution doesn’t appear evident. If neither side seems willing to compromise, there are good reasons for it. Conservatives won’t get their hopes up.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Trump’s choice to pull out of Syria a Christmas gift to all Americans

President Trump’s decision to withdraw from Syria will certainly draw more than its share of comment even at this calm (from a news standpoint) time of year. Christmas presents a chance to ponder the concept of peace on earth, goodwill towards men -- never more so than in 2018.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Yes, SNL liberals, It’s a Wonderful Life with President Donald Trump

Life without Donald Trump as president wouldn’t be as clear cut wonderful as liberals would have you think. Saturday Night Live can do all the ridiculous skits in the world and it still doesn’t change the fact we’re living in a complex place and it requires capable people to lead. Trump fits the bill.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Weekly Standard demise a lesson for Trump on what NOT to do on wall

Few conservatives will miss Bill Kristol’s The Weekly Standard now that it’s gone. The defunct publication was a glaring example of how not to conduct a successful enterprise; by alienating those inclined to support them, the magazine guaranteed its own demise. Let’s hope the same fate doesn’t befall Trump.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Democrat oversteps on Trump impeachment will stir populist uprising

When government oversteps its bounds there’s invariably a popular uprising to combat it. Be it the Boston Tea Party in 1773, the modern-day Tea Party movement or this year’s anti-gas tax protests in Paris, the people don’t take it kindly when political elites dictate and condescend.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Shutdown the Democrats’ inane talk and just fund the wall, Republicans

If Republican ruling elites are truly terrified over Trump’s threat to shutdown the government, they must accept it’s their own inactions that brought on the confrontation. They can use the coming days to salvage a little dignity and give Americans a Christmas gift -- a big beautiful wall protecting them.

The Crime OF Being Trump

The prosecutorial harassment of Donald Trump, those related to Donald Trump or in Donald Trump’s “circle” is an outrageous perversion of justice. What's more, the opprobrium heaped on the Trump family by the establishment media and popular culture has also claimed entirely innocent victims, such as Josh Trump of Delaware.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Obamacare’s demise is the goose that laid the golden egg for GOP

With the downing of Obamacare last week Republicans now have a golden opportunity to make something worthwhile out of the last days of this lame duck session. With budget talks stalled over the border wall there’s something new to talk about and accomplish if they’ll only take advantage.

Comey Continues to Display His Lack of Credibility

Victor Davis Hanson, National Review

If any private citizen tried Comey’s gambit with federal IRS auditors or FBI investigators, he would likely be indicted for perjury or obstruction. There has been no explanation from Comey about why, when, where, and how the FBI used an informant (or informants) in hopes of gaining damaging information for use against Trump. Comey’s sanctimoniousness and misdeeds pose lots of questions. Is Comey a mere hypocrite? Or in guilt does he project his sins onto others? Or does he, by design, pose as a moralist to help insulate himself from future legal jeopardy? Or all of the above?
