Covid-19

David Franke On Covid-19’s Greatest Tragedy: The Nursing Home Elderly

We were warned by the nation’s first large coronavirus outbreak—the one at that nursing home in Kirkland, Washington. But New York's Andrew Cuomo isn’t the only guilty governor. Gov. Phil Murphy of New Jersey issued an almost identical order six days after Cuomo, and Gov. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan has also issued such a directive. All three are liberal Democrats who claim to speak for the disadvantaged—but who is more helpless than these nursing home patients?

Call The White House: Urge Expansion and Extension of President Trump's Limits on Immigration

On April 22, 2020, President Trump issued a much-needed Proclamation limiting immigration while millions of Americans are unemployed due to the effects of the Wuhan virus. The restrictions on immigration imposed by that Proclamation are due to expire this coming Saturday, June 20, 2020 and we strongly urge CHQ readers to call upon President Trump to renew and expand those desperately needed protections for American workers and their families. The White House switchboard 202-456-1111 call now.

James Hooley: China’s raid on the Tongass National Forest chops American jobs and profits

James Hooley, Assistant to President Ronald Reagan, and a Senior Political Advisor to President George H.W. Bush and Senator Robert Dole, makes the case that expanded logging in the Tongass National Forest will benefit the Chinese economy to the detriment of American small businesses, workers and taxpayers.

Yesterday The S&P 500 Erased Its Losses For 2020 – Liberals Puzzled

The economy and the stock market have come roaring back because the government is getting out of the way – ending lockdowns and promising more deregulation. As obvious as this is, it apparently surprised Democrats, such as New York Times columnist Paul Krugman and Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden. Plus, good news for America, especially good economic news, is bad news for Democrats, so the media continues to downplay the good news.

David Franke: Why Covid-19 Is So Different from Previous Pandemics

Our friend David Franke writing for RichardCYoung.com says this is not the first time that a pandemic has struck hard at the United States. What is different today is how we have over-reacted with fear and panic. Mr. Franke takes a quick stroll through the history of the past 100 years and then draws some lessons about why our current reaction is so unprecedented.

Confirmed: 'Some people are making more money by not working.'

While some workers are turning down jobs because they’re worried about getting sick or infecting family members or because they don’t have child care, others are flat-out telling employers they’re making more money safe at home collecting unemployment. Fifteen days to flatten the curve morphed into five months off work at more than your regular pay, to -- if Democrats get their way -- a full year of watching TV on the taxpayers’ tab.

Conservative Leaders: End Perverse Incentives Keeping Workers Home

No matter the dearth of local COVID cases or the establishment’s strict safety precautions, expanded unemployment benefits, including a $600 a week COVID "bonus," have incentivized some employees to refuse to return to work. Now, a group of conservative leaders has penned an open letter to Republicans in Congress and President Trump urging them to fix the policies that encourage workers to stay off the job.

Support Trump 's Plans to Jumpstart the Economy and Get Americans Back to Work

Contrary to what Democrats clearly want – which is to increase the economic damage and misery – President Trump has begun to implement a bold plan of regulatory relief to jumpstart the economy and get Americans back to work. If if your Governor still has your state lockeddown call him or her to demand that the economy of your state be reopened. To send a letter to your Senators and Representative and state elected officials go to www.ReOpenAmericaNow.org and use the "Send Letter" tool.

The Media Bias Against Florida's Conservative Governor Ron DeSantis

New York has 10 times the coronaviru deaths that Florida has. With the Democrat icon showing so badly the liberal media claims the notion that there is a blue-state and a red-state way of attacking the virus is absurd. We might agree, if the Leftwing media was not giving New York's Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo a pass for his disastrous results while pillorying Florida's conservative Governor Ron DeSantis for his success, not only in saving lives, but getting Floridians back to work.

Patty Murray and Senate half-wits confront pandemic

Charles Hurt, Washington Times

Winston Churchill, the greatest half-American to ever live, famously said: “The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter.” The quote is half-right. The best argument against democracy is actually a five-minute conversation with the average lawmaker. Never clearer has this been than watching the U.S. Senate this week confront the deadly pandemic ravaging the world today. It would not take long before the hearing devolved into the same silly nonsense that dominated the impeachment trial that the Senate was obsessed with when the pandemic first reached America’s shores.

To Mask Or Not To Mask?

If you are suffering from whiplash or feel like you are watching a tennis match join the club trying to follow the conflicting medical advice about face masks. And if the medical and public health advice is conflicting, wearing a mask – or not – now seems to have become a political statement as well. As the unconstitutional lockdowns begin to come off other arbitrary mandates, such as wearing a mask when outdoors, are being imposed. We are interested in what CHQ readers think about wearing a mask – please let us know in the comments after this article.

The Best Defense Against Covid-19 is a Strong Immune System

Given the importance of our immune systems in keeping us in good health, and protecting us from the pandemic, one would think serious attention would be given to strengthening everyone’s immune systems before drugs and medical procedures are needed.  But one would be wrong in that assumption.  Very little attention is focused on strengthening natural immunity, in the mainstream media or even in the general medical community.

COVID-19 fear will destroy America

Cal Thomas, Washington Times

Ted Nugent sums it up: “Why do I have to stay home just because you are scared? How about you stay home … you stay in your house indefinitely, you wear a mask, you socially distance yourself from me, you avoid restaurants, you avoid baseball games, you stay off the roads, you avoid malls and beaches and parks … I’m done playing your dumb game … I’m no longer going to be a prisoner of your fear. I’m no longer staying in my house or catering to you because you are scared … YOUR fear is not an excuse to destroy America. YOUR fear is not my fear and your fear does not have the right to interfere with my life, my job, my income or my future as a free American citizen.”

Grading the Governors on Economic Response to Covid-19

Stephen Moore, CNS News

Saving lives must remain the highest priority for governors. Still, the blue Northeastern and Midwestern states that are still in economic paralysis need to worry about avoiding a depression scenario. By continuing a lockdown, those states risk high and prolonged levels of unemployment, a surge in the rates of child poverty and economic deprivation, trillions of dollars of reduced wealth and household savings, and millions of small-business failures—with all of the human misery that is associated with them. For a robust national recovery, we also need California, Illinois and New York to get up and running, now.

There’s No Proof Killing The Economy Saves Lives

The evidence is growing that lockdowns did not have the kind of life saving effect that their advocates, such as Dr. Anthony Fauci and Democrat Governor of Virginia Dr. Ralph Northam, claimed they would. We urge CHQ readers and friends to read Grading Our Governors: A Report Card on Reopening States' Economies and if your Governor has not earned an “A” or a “B” to call him or her to demand that the economy of your state be reopened.

Dr. Anthony Fauci Is A Carpenter With Only One Tool

By Richard A Viguerie, CHQ Chairman
In his dire warnings, that not unexpectedly drew praise from Democrats who need unemployment to be at a high level to win this November's election.  Dr. Fauci reminds me of a carpenter with only one tool – which in his case will be a clamp on the economy. President Trump should reject Democrat calls to run the country on Dr. Fauci’s one problem – one tool approach.

GOP Must Stop Pelosi’s $3 Trillion Vote Fraud Power Grab

It’s hard to know where to start explaining just how bad Speaker Pelosi’s next gen bailout bill is – but we will start with the institutionalization of California-style vote fraud.  The toll-free Capitol Switchboard number (1-866-220-0044), we urge CHQ readers and friends to call their Senators and Representative tell them Pelosi’s $3 trillion vote stealing plan is a non-starter and that America needs to get back to work.

How Does COVID-19 Fit In China’s Bio-Weapons Program?

The focus of our preliminary assessment of the Chinese actions was on the economic warfare domain, but that is only one of the seven domains of warfare recognized in Chinese military thinking. But a must-read article by our friend Clare M. Lopez raises a new and even more frightening possibility: The Chinese Communist Party intends to militarily defeat, occupy, and colonize the U.S. and biological weapons figure prominently in their strategy.

Evidence is Building that the Chinese Developed COVID-19 to use as an Economic Weapon Against the United States

If you are a loyal Chinese Communist, you see President Trumps actions, as an Act of War. This American President is looking to stop China’s accent as the world’s leading economic and military power. That cannot stand.  As the virus spread, the Chinese realized that COVID-19 would be an effective economic weapon. Which may be why they cancelled domestic flights in and out of Wuhan, but allowed international flights to continue, hoping the virus would spread to the United States.

Conservative Leaders To GOP: No State and Local Government Bailouts in COVID-19 Relief Legislation

As Congress contemplates a future relief package, the conservative leaders of the Conservative Action Project, led by Chairman Alfred S. Regnery, urge Congress to reject state and local government cash bailouts in favor of policies which give states the flexibility to address the COVID-19 crisis according to the needs of their state – including providing relief from onerous regulations, unfunded federal mandates, and policies which stifle economic growth.
