Green New Deal

Whistling Past the 'Green New Deal'

L. Brent Bozell III and Tim Graham, CNS News

The socialists are running the show at the Democratic National Committee, and to say they're not ready for prime time is an understatement. Theirs are policies grade schoolers might love. Or maybe even they would laugh at the inanities prescribed. So are the media at all concerned? It's so nice to be a Democrat with today's network-news environment. No ABC or NBC anchor will narrate a commercial sternly warning, "Air travel. A cheeseburger. A glass of milk. You may have them today, but you may be about to lose them! Is this what the country wants?"

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's Green New Deal and the Unicorn Caucus

Wesley Pruden, Washington Times

These are not happy days for Democrats, proving once more that nothing recedes like success. The radicalization of the party quickens. Rep. Ilhan Omar, the newly elected congressperson in Minnesota and a fierce supporter of the campaign to boycott, sanction and pull investments from Israel, accused Jews of being obsessed only with money and of showing more loyalty to a foreign country — i.e., Israel — than to their own. It was a familiar canard, demonstrating again how friendly the party has become to purveyors of anti-Semitic poison.

The Green New Deal is a Suicide Note for Democrats

Patrick J. Buchanan, The American Conservative

In a presidential election, the "out" party candidate usually has an advantage. No record to defend. He or she can choose the terrain on which to attack the incumbent, who has a four-year record. Rarely does an out party present a fixed and stationary target as exposed as this, as out-of the-mainstream as this, as vulnerable as this. The only explanation for the endorsement of the Green New Deal by candidates with a prospect of winning the Democratic nomination is that they are so fearful of Ocasio-Cortez and the left for whom she speaks that they must endorse her plan.

How About A Red, White And Blue New Deal?

Kurt Schlichter, Townhall

It’s funny how the solution to every problem the left obsesses over is having leftists take away your money and your freedom. But, in my Red, White and Blue New Deal (Support your own damn self and leave me the hell alone.), no one takes anything from anyone else. You take care of yourself, and you get left alone, which is frustrating for the left because the left exists to steal what you have earned to redistribute as the left sees fit, and to command you to do, think, say, and feel as the left sees fit.

Green is the new red

Stephen Moore, Washington Times

We will need these to pay for the deindustrialization of America. Conservatives have tended to laugh and sneer at the GND (me included), but these frontal assaults on free market capitalism are quickly becoming Democratic orthodoxy. Green is the new red, as the saying goes, and unless conservatives defeat and discredit these dingbat ideas, Donald Trump will be proven wrong. America will be on its way to becoming a socialist nation.

The Democrats' 'Green New Hoax'

Tammy Bruce, Washington Times

The so-called “Green New Deal,” onto which 70 leading Democrats have signed, doesn’t exist. Like a salesman parked at a corner hawking a small bottle filled with a mystery substance that will cure everything from insomnia to cancer, the Democratic Party is promoting a fraud-work quilt promising a cure for all. In reality, this hoax targeting the liberal base, GenXers and progressives, is nothing more than an elaborate Get Out the Vote organizing effort. No one asked former President Barack Obama for specifics of his “hope and change” plan, and we all know how that worked out.

Saving The Earth At The Point Of A Bayonet

The only way the Green New Deal could be accomplished would be through the forced relocation of millions of workers and their families in a massive societal restructuring akin to the forced collectivization of Russian agriculture after the Soviet Revolution of 1917 or Chairman Mao’s Great Leap Forward economic restructuring of Communist China.
