Did Your Local Newspaper Call Trump's Mt. Rushmore Speech 'dark and divisive'? Here's One Way To Push Back

If your local newspaper covered the President’s speech at Mt. Rushmore using the words "dark and divisive" they weren’t covering “the news” rather the paper was simply regurgitating Democrat Party talking points pushed out to reporters after every Trump speech. We urge conservatives to set the record straight by sending a letter to the editor defending President Trump’s Mt. Rushmore speech. To assist you in that effort, here are some sample paragraphs you might include in your letter.

A Culture War Battle Trump Can Win

Patrick J. Buchanan, CNS News

Trump is charged with "dividing the nation." But it is not Trump trashing cops or providing cover for "protests" marked by looting. Trump's stand for tradition and against mob rule is the only stand he can take. And it is a necessary stand. For this culture war is going to last long after this presidency. And it is going to determine what kind of country we shall become. Will it be the great and glorious republic of the past or the social and cultural Marxist hellhole that is the promise of the mobs? Trump just played the patriotism card, the correct card to play, and it may just work for his reelection.

Why Progressives Wage War on History

Ken Buck, National Review

History is unapologetic in its presentation of facts. History demands that we examine facts and incidents that make us uncomfortable. Such study challenges us, inspires us, and serves as a call to action in our own lives. The progressive pressure campaign is not about progress. Rather, it is an attempt to erase parts of history leftists do not like. This is a slippery slope, as many left-wing activists are even attempting to tear down statues of Abraham Lincoln, the president who ushered in the Emancipation Proclamation, freeing slaves. History, it turns out, is little concerned with our comfort level.

It’s the Ballgame, America

By Richard A Viguerie, CHQ Chairman
Because of the betrayal by the mainstream media and the silence by most Republican politicians, it falls to us conservatives to ride to the front lines of the civil war that’s now raging between those who love America and those who hate America. If you and other similarly experienced and trained conservatives don’t become fully engaged, it’s almost certain that the radical New Democrat socialists will win in November, and the America we know, and love will be gone forever.

Where are America’s Leaders? Is it you?

By Richard A Viguerie, CHQ Chairman
Since the 1960s, people have asked me how they can help in a political campaign or help with this or that conservative cause.  Well, not only is there a way for you to be involved in this year’s election, it’s vitally important, in fact I say it’s absolutely necessary for you to be involved if America is to be saved. Please read this memo and if you agree with it, please pass it on to others.

GOP Saps Need to Quit Being Idiots

Kurt Schlichter, Townhall

I’m a lawyer and I negotiate for a living, so maybe I can provide some perspective. The Republicans’ “negotiations” consist of giving concessions to people who hate them that will get them nothing in return but the contempt of GOP voters. I’m baffled why I have to explain this, but that’s a bad deal. If I did that kind of deal for clients, I’d be driving a 1991 Ford Fiesta hoopty with a missing rear bumper instead of my sweet, sweet premium touring sedan. Stop doing stupid things, Republicans! We want you to protect us from the coordinated attack upon us, not tongue-bathe the attackers. Do you need suggestions?

We Need To Fight And Win The Election We Have

After what we’ve seen in the streets over the past month it is inescapable that the future of our country is at stake in this election. Thus, it is to Donald Trump that Americans who wish to live in liberty will have to look if our constitutional republic is to survive. It’s time we conservatives stopped wishing for an election that was never going to be and buckled down to do whatever it takes to win the election we have.

Grassroots Conservatives Channel Winston Churchill

By Richard A Viguerie, CHQ Chairman
Britain’s great statesman and orator Winston Churchill once told the House of Commons that when he was a small child he was taken to Barnum's Circus where the exhibit he most desired to see was the Boneless Wonder, however his parents would not allow it. Were Churchill alive today, he would need only to stop by the offices of Republican Senators Mike Braun, John Cornyn, Ron Johnson, James Lankford, Mitch McConnell and John Thune to fulfill his youthful curiosity.

Pay Attention To Joe Biden’s Threat To Transform America

Over the Independence Day weekend likely Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden tweeted, “We're going to beat Donald Trump. And when we do, we won't just rebuild this nation — we'll transform it.” Having already experienced eight years of the Obama – Biden administration’s efforts at “fundamentally transforming the United States of America,” we here at CHQ take Biden’s tweet as both a promise and a threat.

ProtectMonuments.org Launches Campaign To Protect America’s History

Public monuments belong to all Americans and citizens across the country are demanding that our elected officials protect our monuments.  To that end, the American Constitutional Rights Union (ACRU) has launched its Protect Monuments Project to mobilize citizens and pressure public officials to protect historic monuments and buildings from leftist criminals and vandals who seek to erase our national history.

Conservative Leaders: History Matters, Protect America’s Monuments

Over 100 leaders of the conservative movement have joined together to issue a “memo to the movement” applauding President Trump’s “Executive Order on Protecting American Monuments, Memorials, and Statues and Combating Recent Criminal Violence” and decrying the vandalism and assaults on revered American monuments, including the Lincoln Memorial and the World War II Memorial.

Trump makes punishing leftist anarchists for desecrating monuments a priority

Tammy Bruce, Washington Times

We are seeing Mr. Trump emerge, once again, as the right man at the right time. The president is illustrating that law and order is of paramount importance and is at the foundation of everything else. We know he understands the policy issues on which he was elected, but now it is more important than ever to show the American people that he’s acting to secure this nation, as the legacy media is working overtime to convince us that chaos reigns. Why? Because, like abusers and batterers everywhere, they tell you if you just surrender, they’ll stop hurting you. That’s a lie, and it will be rejected in November.

'Moral' History vs. Factual History

David Harsanyi, National Review

In the progressive retelling of history, the role of both victim and oppressor is predestined according to the hue of a person’s skin. Everyone involved is stripped of agency. And every injustice is retroactively framed in the light of contemporary racial grievances. Trying to transpose woke 21st-century perceptions and grievances onto the ancient world is problematic, but I’m certain we’ll see some intellectually corrupt academics cooking up “scholarship” on the matter soon enough. This is how woke history works. What do you do when your moral truths don’t align with the historical record? You fix it.

Must See Sen. Tom Cotton Video: Biden Will Bring Anarchy To Your Hometown

Senator Tom Cotton is right, Joe Biden is too liberal and too confused to lead, and if we allow Joe Biden to be elected President, anarchy will be coming to our towns and cities. We urge CHQ readers and friends to watch the ad through this link to YouTube and then help make it go viral by sending the link to your family, friends, neighbors, fellow parishioners, civic club members and other contacts.

Peter Wood on the Vandalism of Civilization

Dr. Peter Wood is one of a small but brave band of academics who have the integrity to criticize the role of college and university faculty members and administrators in encouraging “the wreckage of the public square” as he put it. We urge CHQ readers and friends to call upon their colleges and universities, especially publicly funded institutions, to do their part in restoring the principles of respect for the common good and to oppose the wreckage of the public square.

Their America, and Ours

Patrick J. Buchanan, The American Conservative

Asked on Fox News about what is happening today with the public insults to our national anthem and the desecration of our monuments, Justice Clarence Thomas raises questions being asked by many Americans: “What binds us? What do we all have in common anymore? … We always talk about E pluribus unum. What’s our unum now? We have the pluribus. What’s the unum?”

Our War against Memory

Victor Davis Hanson, National Review

Two millennia after Roman autocrats’ destruction of statues, and armed with the creepy 20th-century model of Fascists and Communists destroying the past, we, of a supposedly enlightened democracy, cannot even rewrite history by democratic means — local, state, and federal commission recommendations, referenda, or majority votes of elected representatives. More often, as moral cowards, we either rely on the mob or some sort of executive order enforced only in the dead of night.

America’s Second Civil War

Patrick J. Buchanan, The American Conservative

“Where does this all end?” President Trump asked. It doesn’t. Not until America’s histories and biographies are burned and new texts written to Nazify Lee, Jackson, Davis and all the rest, will a newly indoctrinated generation of Americans accede to this demand to tear down and destroy what their fathers cherished.
