Even overseas we cheered for Palin. Finally a person who speaks her mind and not corrupt politician minds. A breath of fresh air! Thank you McCain for being the Maverick that you are and giving Americans the opportunity to see what America Should be all about. I sat next to republicans and democrats even unknowns and at the end of Palin speech we all agreed she is exactly what this country has been hoping for.
Walter Andrson
She hit a GRAND SLAM with that speech. Best speech I have heard thus far in this election. This little lady has a long way to go in the GOP.
In addition, Fred Thompson and Rudy Guiliani made great speeches as well. All three of these people spoke TO people instead of AT people.
I do believe that the McCain/Palin ticket has put fear into the Democrats and that there is more to come!
Seaberry
I was so happy during her speech...brought tears of joy to my eyes many times.
Mary
I had planned on writing in Condoleezza Rice for president, but after hearing Palin's speech I will probably vote the McCain ticket, allowing Palin to line up as the 2012 presidental candidate. I still believe if we conservatives were smart enough and cared enough to really want to give our country the best possible president this time around, we would ALL write in Condoleezza Rice and take our country backfrom the grasroots. Palin may be almost as good as Condi in a lot of ways, but she is still only going to be 2nd in line and Condi already has the ear of most of the world leaders, is fluent in several languages, and is an expert on Russia, which would be a big plus with Putin working hard to put Russia back to the cold war form of government.
Donavan Smandra
Has anyone taken the opportunity to actually research Palin?
Let's start with the pipe-line...not even built, not even permitted for building. As a matter-o-fact, Alaska's legislature doesn't agree with the way she's negotiated the deal. It's still in process and may not happen. She wants it to run through part of Canada, Alaska doesn't because it won't benefit Alaska or the US. She wants the gas from that pipeline to be sold on the open market, not specific to USA.
She has one of the highest requests for ear-marks (per capita) in history, over 700million. John McCain spoke of it as irresponsible...before she was his pick as VP of course.
Her husband was a member of an independent party that wants Alaska to secede from the USA. In 2002 he suspended his membership...but still remains affiliated. She spoke at one of there events this year. Country First?
There were actually 2 bridges to no where. One of those bridges connected her town of Wasilla to Anchorage. She was fear-mark until it became unpopular and through Ted Stephens under a bus...although she did send him a 70 page document in Feb of this year about her pork-barrel spending, wanting his support.
Do we want someone who recently professed that we are at the end of days second in line to press the button?
There are many more issues with this woman...from family values to ultra conservative views that are far from mainstream and she's a flat out liar.
harley
your dreaming...never going to happen

We need to stop the casual use of the federal government as the problem solver of last resort. The first requirement should be to balance the budget. Balancing the budget is something that elected officials can affect, and their refusal to do so condones irresponsible behavior. Balancing the budget is the standard of conduct that should apply in most years. This was the standard that prevailed in the 19th and early 20th centuries in America. It was SUPERIOR to what we have today.
Stacy
I would like my Reps. to get their districts some of the money back that is sent to DC. If that is the only thing you have against the good doctor you should be supporting him not condeming him! IMHO Ron Paul is the only man in DC that can be trusted. He is doing a fantastic job of educating Americans on what is REALLY going on in our currupt government. He loves his country and is a TRUE PATRIOT. He deserves a place in the history books, but I doubt that will happen. It is tragic that the American people have been denied the opportunity to be lead by one of the greatest Americans in the history of our great nation!

As a Conservative Republican I am astonished that choosing a no name Like Sarah Palin has somehow energized the Republican faithful. Don't get me wrong, she may be a great Conservative. I'm not arguing those points. She just happens to be on the wrong part of the ticket.
I am not only un-energized, I am distraught. I don't have a candidate in the fight for president. We won't be voting for Sarah Palin, who may just be the candidate we should have running for president, we're going to be voting for Juan McAmnesty. For me, this man is the wrong choice. I like to think of myself as an American first-er, good ole Juan likes Mexico and war with Iran more than he likes the United States (think back to MCCAIN-KENNEDY and his little song: Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran).
I am a conservative, and I like the constitution and the rights it gives me. This is one of the tenets of conservatism, upholding the constitution! If you don’t want to conserve the constitution what in heavens name are you conserving? Were selling the farm for beans!
I can expect amnesty from Obama, I can fight him through my representative in congress. If we vote Juan into office he will have the political capitol (that we will have given him) to push his SCAMNESTY and war off onto us and the democrat party will be only too happy to help him. I can not in good conscience give this man my vote.
I refuse to vote for Obama, but there is no way on God's green creation, I will vote for McCain. Damn the costs, we will only get more McAmnesty candidates in the future if we do not draw the line here. I am drawing my line here.
Fellow Conservatives do what you must. I'll be around when were all back on the right track. For now, go with God because I can’t go down the Juan McAmnesty road with you.
Your brother in arms,
Paul Gregersen
Sara Palan prays that the American troops in Iraq are part of Gods plan and she is taking heat for it. Sara is more prophetic than people yet grasp. Her spiritual claim recorded on youtube represents a literal Bible prophecy revealed right here.. The Bible designates the state of Alaska in this Bible prophecy as Sara clearly states.. Gods greatest blessing must reach the utmost bound of the everlasting hills. This prophecy can be seen in Genesis chapter 49:22-26. The Rocky mountains represent the only chain of mountains on the earth which are continuous and endless. Early explorers could never find the end of these prophetic everlasting hills discovered in America. The Bible’s “utmost bounds” of the rockies would not describe south America nor central America, only the western United States can pinpoint North America where the the Rockies clearly lead upwards toward the utmost bounds of the Rockies which pinpoint the Alaska uttermost bounds exactly. The prophet Jacob promised the tribe of Joseph the greatest blessings for the end of days as located exactly at this spot. These Biblical Blessings were promises given above all the tribes of Israel. See Genesis 49:1 and Genesis 49:22. These are real prophecies in the Bible about Alaska. Sara openly describes the Alaska prophecy and makes it very clear why her people in the west must prepare their hearts for the blessings God has promised them! Both 9/11 and the Iraq war are biblical events which confirm to us why Sara feels so strongly about our troops in Iraq. This is an overview of my book dedicated to Sara Palins mission titled “Bible prophecies of 9-11″ This is not just another good theory, but an actual Bible prophecy which clearly reveals the Iraq war and also 9/11. This prophecy is plainly written into the Bible. You will literally see the specific details of 9/11 within your own Bible! You will learn why Sara prays for Alaska to bless our nation! This election represents a biliclal moment in time. Critics are now working hard to prove that this discovery is false and have failed to uncover it as another hoax. We invite you to investigate this matter and follow along with your Bible and witness it for yourself. I am currently putting together a small group of christians to assist me on a national news story. A publishing organization affiliated with Salem communications has recently published their official press release which openly declares my biblical discovery to the public. http://www.eternaltruth.net This web sight can provide enough evidence for you to investigate the validity of my claim. I recently published this discovery which opens up a chain of clues dealing with King Nebuchadnezzar’s repentance process as recorded in Daniel chapter four. This recorded event resulted in God blessing Nebuchadnezzar and his ancient land located today in Iraq. That particular blessing involved future promises of freedom in the end times through great eagle’s wings. The eagle today is certainly the symbol of the United states currently bringing this freedom to Iraq as predicted in the Bible. I am contacting people who represent different denominations who can understand and explain type and shadow prophecies.. I am confident that a common continuity of opinion by such persons can validate my discovery to media sources as a worthy news story. This requires a non denominational approach to succeed. The interest factor for the media would be common agreement upon a specific biblical interpretation coming from differing faiths who agree upon a sound interpretation concerning one of the most important issues for this coming election about Iraq. As you know religion has become a central issue for presidential candidates opening up a rare opportunity to promote the importance of God and moral issues. Sara Palan is an example to christians for the following reasons. She has learned how to distinguish good from evil on a level where she no longer fears challenging evil. She sees deeply into the hearts of the people who are hiding an evil agenda. This book teaches you how to see the world the way Sara sees it. The wicked became afraid from the very first moment Sara came upon the national scene. These people instinctively knew that Sara could see them for who they were and could not be controled by their fear. Once christians become enlightened by this book they can gain the same understanding Sara has learned through both experience and wisdom. Christ warns us about people he described as evil vipers. Few can see the depth of exactly why such persons are so dangerous as they work in darkness to destroy everything good. Sara actually fought and removed such people from power in Alaska because she fully understands the depth such evil by knowing how to unmask their vulnerabilities. Simply by having your eyes opened to see good from evil as taught within this book one can likewise be enlightened like Sara Palan. The book “Bible prophecies of 9/11″ teaches you how to see the monster which is hidden from public view freeing your mind and spirit from the destructive blindness most people cannot fully see. Through this wisdom you gain power over such influences and free your soul from being trapped by their cunning snares. Some of the top conservative sights in America currently have my video presentation posted and available for public view. You may view my video on the Rush Limbaugh’s official myspace page. You may view it on Laura Ingrams page as well as numerous other conservative sights and blogs. The Iraq war will be of major political interest during the election. This is rather timely and important. This may be a way for you and others to gain national recognition by helping us unite christian denominations during a critical election year. This is also a chance for people of faith to show our troops a united support for their mission as one christian voice. If you are interested please feel free to view our video and test my biblical claims. Please call concerning any and all questions. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. http://www.eternaltruth.net

You are totally insane. As a real conservative believer in smaller government and the constitution Palin ? Just another neocon war monger. My goodness McCain caused 1.4T dollar loss in his role in the S&L crisis. Isman lobbying cost billions in cross media ownership media issues. The Lakid and neocons have armed Georgia. Palin teaching family values with a knocked up 17 year old? What are you thinking? The preemptive war profiteers and welfare proponents found a less educated nut job than McCain (yea call me elite)? Palin? The evil of two lessors is still evil. How would we feel if Russia armed the Quebec separatists? Blow back baby.. I am writing in anybody but the RNC or DNC candidates. You cannot be serious about Palin? It is going to be a worse pick than Spiro Agnew. Saturday night live had a field day.
Eric Karich
Anyone who thinks Sarah Palin is popular because she is a woman is an absolute idiot who does not know the average American voter. Doesn't anyone in the DC establishment remember Ronald Reagan? He enjoyed the same popularity as Sarah is enjoying now (also in spite of vicious media attacks). And he was nowhere near as young, attractive, or inspiring as is Sarah (sorry Ronnie, but you were a bit of an old fart by the time you finally made it). Many in middle America will vote for anyone or anything if it will shrink government. I was going to say we would even vote for a pig, but I guess Obama beat me to that one.
Jeff Long
Boy, you see it with clear vision for sure on this one. As a personal preference, I would always prefer a man for such a high-profile and highly stressed position, and I think most foreign nations, especially of the Muslim sort, would be more responsive and respectful to a man.
However, here you do not have the woman they expect from America, the amoral, or worse immoral advocate of abortion rights, gay marriage, etc., but rather a strong no-nonsense gal, who is surprisingly feminine and who possesses the qualities of a faithful wife and mother--not a Hollywood harridan.
Who knows if maybe she'll end up displaying the finest characteristics of Thatcher, Golda Meir, Saint Joan-of Arc, and Queen Esther, all rolled up into one package.
As one surveys the all girly men "serving" us today, a few more women of her caliber and temperament may be exactly what we need.
adp
What Ideas does she run on? Social conservatism defined by our forefathers -- constitutional conservatism -- is defined as defending life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. She appears willing to define our lives by her religious beliefs -- as a Pentecostal -- why is this better than complete religious agnosticism? In spite of this, her lack of international, military, diplomatic and macro-economic experience is scary given that she could be so close to the presidency. Reformer? Her track record on that is light and mixed -- more of an opportunist for her own benefit. We need statesmen (or women) in office -- who are curious, educated, worldly, visionary and committed to the principles in our Constitution -- with our economy on the ropes, we need the best and brightest of more than 300 million Americans. She and McCain seem about average (although McCain's military service is extraordinary) -- but we can't afford another administration led by the average among us.
Joyce Pfluger
I beleive any investigation must be done by someone outside the establishment. This should be encouraged by the Republicans now.
Dave Hetrick
You might want to check into former members of Congress, such as Phil Gramm. While you're at it, check into the investor demand for over-rated CDOs that encouraged lenders to make "credit for the non-creditworthy" available, and into the practices these lenders used.
A lot of greedy people contributed to (and profited from) this mess over the years, not just politicians. Unfortunately, "we the people" will end up paying for the cleanup, again (e.g, the S&L failures).
Jerry
To think that we can get a true beneficial investigation is like saying we will check with the fox who is watching the chicken house, it ain't going to happen. We can clean house in November, and that is what needs to be done.
Robert Holtzclaw
It is time that congress is held accountable for violating their oath to uphold and protect the Constitution. The Fed must be abolished and we must return to the rule of Constitutional law.
Gordon Vinson
You have very eloquently, succinctly and forcefully outlined the reason for the success of Governor Palin with not only conservative Republicans but independent minded Americans who
want an alternative to the collapse of America as our forefathers designed it.
Jerry
Great speech and based on truth not political wishes. If enough people get a chance to read it, conservatives would see an increase in their ranks.
There are too many conservatives who are like me, in their very late years who no longer have the physical vitality to fignt the good fight. But I try to keep writing and preaching the conservative gospel in a column I write for a weekly newspaper in a small town, as well as lots of emails and forwarding of other blogs from other conservatives.
I hope that conservative ideals return to America before I am called away; the thought of a socialist/communist government led by an unqualified radical with questionable and dubious background could be the end of America as I have known it for more than 80 years.
I would like to see a huge increase in Sarah Palin types that will get this country back on track and off the self-serving 'what's in it for me' kick that liberals and leftists are so consumed with.
Thank you Richard Viguerie for your enlightening words.
Kathy H
I remember reading an article on Newsmax.com and one by Cliff Kincaid about George Soros standing to profit from a U.S. economic collapse and how he was doing everything in his power to have the Democrats prevail....hmmmm. If that's not the case though, I think this financial crisis may be just what we needed to force both parties to take their dirty hands from behind their backs and show us what they've really been up to. I hope it also makes more people question the tax codes and why it has to be the taxpayers who ultimately end up paying for the politicians' dirty deeds. One other thing I've been thinking about.....I wonder if this financial crisis might somehow conveniently morph into that US/Canada/Mexico merger. In one of those articles about George Soros, he had more or less predicted a U.S. monetary collapse which would call for a new currency....perhaps the so-called Amero? Sounds like the fall of the U.S. economy has been manipulated for awhile now. And of course,'we the people' are just going to lie down and let it happen. How sad.
Timothy Boggs
I am a cranky conservative because those conservatives in Washinton seem to have forgotten the honest man whom the city was named after and instead have de-regulated everthing from govenment to big business thinking that the boards of directors of this country and their lackies who hope to hold seats on the boards some day are "basicly good", when the exact oposite is true. To quote a great example, "none are rightous, no not one" and "man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of GOD". People are NOT basicly good. Shame on the so called conservatives in charge for thinking so. We all need a bridle of some sort or another. It's called regulation.
Marc
Thanks for that wonderful speech.
Eric Karich
I think that everyone here at the Conservative Leadership Conference enjoyed your speech.
I have to take issue with Mr. Boggs, we Conservatives don't seek deregulation because we think people are naturally good (you are correct, they are not), but because we want the free market to do the regulation. I think shareholders who own the company can determine whether their Board and Executives are doing a good job, and if not they can be fired. Not a perfect system, but it is infinitely better than having Big Brother make the determination.
Pete Meis
Mr. Viguerie, like most people in America today, do not know that, when the object of the verb is in the plural form, one is supposed to use the word,"are", not "is". When will the ignorance stop?
Pete Meis
I meant to use "does", not "do". It was just a typo.
Warthog
Richard, this is an outstanding article, succinctly summarizing all that is wrong with our current, corrupt and irresponsible government.
I have heard that new Senators and Congressmen, no matter how idealistic and determined to make a difference, are taken under the wing of an old established politician who explains the facts of life to them. "Son, you either play the game the way it is, or... you will not be on any important comittees, etc, and when the time comes for your re-election we'll either not support you or find an opponent who will beat you and your career as a politician will be over."
Warthog
P.S. Hey, Pete- Why don't you take the content of Richard's article to heart, rather than worrying about a perceived lapse in his grammar??? Yours seemingly isn't any better!
Robert Camp
The President get's the blame for everything going wrong on our economy and the Congress get's away without accepting any responsibility for the messes they create. I think it's time for America to demand a Constitutional Convention to do away with the Congress. So if things go wrong with our economy then we know who to blame and we can kick him/her out on their ears. What do you think?
Jarey
I hate to liken this Presidential race to voting for 'the lesser of two evils', but the 'evils' are not equal. We all know what we'll get with Obama; higher taxes when the Bush tax cuts phase out, outright socialist policies even worse than now, most likely his radical cronies in the cabinet, etc. At least with McCain we get some basic loyalty to this country and an announced antipathy toward the corporate elite who have helped ruin this country. The amnesty question can be dealt with thru bombarding Congress threatening their longevity in office.
Hillary wants Obama to lose and set the stage for her to run in 2012. A race between her and Sarah Palin, as the incumbent Vice-President, would really be interesting. I also believe Condi Rice is just part of the same old status quo, the political elite who won't listen to us. We're supposed to rule them, not the other way around. Condi couldn't win because she really is connected to Bush.
Jarey
Joseph, regarding getting "back on the right track", if Obama is elected we'll NEVER get back on track. It will be over with. Not voting is not an option, I believe, no matter how much we wish we had a candidate other than McCain.
Richard Fuller
Sarah Palin has the liberals and all thier socialist/communist demacrats running scared, [VERY] scared. McCain could not have picked a better running mate. She has more experience than the whole demacratic camp. Including foreign policy. If we can regain a concervative congress and rid our gov. of anti American unelected officials such as the council on foreign relations, the fedral reserve, and other communist backed institutions, we have a chance to ger this country back on a constitutional basis. Barak Obama and his camp, have yet to make a statement or take a stand on any issue without first hearing it from the McCain/Palin camp, pretty much like parrots,They have no comprahencive solutions of thier own . other than to deliver These United states of America into the hands of the new world order and total communism.TO understand Barak Obama, It is my belief that we first have to read the communist manafesto,Investigate his ties with his Kenya Comunist party family members. And make very sure that he is a bonified American citizen.I have an idea that thier closets have some pretty dangerous skeletons to let loose on this Nation. And if we do not get behind McCain/Palin,I am afraid any attempt to ge this country back on a constitutional basis, will be greatly hampered. AND BY THE WAY GOV.PALIN IS PRO UNION.So run scared VERY scared Dems.
Michael W. Botello
Hello Richard, as well as all those who read and post their comments!
Allow me to share an expression a very dear friend and my boss, H. Chapman Rose, Under Secretary, Dept. of the Treasury, shared with me once when I was feeling a little anxious about the Stock Market in 1986. You do remember when that occurred don't you? Chappie was quite calm and suggested that I exercise the seat of my pants.
As I have grown older, I have borrowed that bit of advice and shared it with those I have met from time to time who have become overwhelmed with the cares of this world. Some have appreciated the guidance and others have ignored it; nevertheless I accepted it as sage advice from a man far wiser than I.
Richard, when we joined in the battle for your nomination in 1984 for Lt. Governor of Virginia, we did so with the hope and intent that your candidacy would culminate in a victory that would bring about the kind of change in government we see unraveling before us today. Virtuous behavior is a rare commodity in government and yet we have an opportunity to see it happen in spite of the whirlwind of calamity occurring around us.
It is true that the individuals involved in abusing, twisting or manipulating the policies, procedures and/or regulations that have brought us to the point of fiscal collapse and taxpayer funded financing and the gross mismanagement of private companies and/or funds sponsored, subsidized or backed by the Federal Government will be investigated and prosecuted. However, that will not be the end; it will be the beginning of a long train of events that will ultimately lead to more Federal regulation.
What we fail to realize as we condemn the actions of the individuals who have brought about the financial collapse we are dealing with now is that in addition to the prosecution of those individuals and resuscitation of the economy is that there will be more oversight to prevent the abuses from happening again.
The Founders of this great nation were, and intended that those individuals, who served the public interest, be completely “Disinterested” in their own personal gain. In other words, public servants were to be of such “high moral character” that they had no interest in personal gain whatsoever; that their interest was in the public good only.
Such individuals were the Founders of this nation and we have them in our ranks today. However, these individuals are hard pressed to serve in such a corrupt environment and the cost is very high personally, professionally and emotionally. If you want to know how costly ask Richard; he can tell you what the “real” costs are; and not just the financial, but the cost to his family and the criticism he endured on behalf of all who supported him.
Be assured that we will get through this economic crisis as we did in 1929, and we will see more Federal regulation as a result. We will also see a more active role by Congress in our lives as we have not seen in the past as they pass additional legislation restricting more of our liberties.
So, Richard, as one who stands in the gap with you building the wall with a trowel, mortar and brick in one hand and holding a sword in the other, I thank you for standing fast in the face of overwhelming criticism, the tide of “Relativism” in our society and the rejection of an absolute moral compass between what is right and what is wrong. You are a Bulwark against that tide and you are truly appreciated.
Semper Fidelis!
Michael W. Botello
Nicolas Martin
In the end, the conservatives can't help themselves. They always come crawling back to the Republican Party, no matter how much money Republican politicians spend, how much new government they create, and how much they embrace socialism. I get Mr. Viguerie's emails paying lip service to free markets, but I prefer to judge him by his deeds and his associations: conservative socialists.
Nicolas Martin
Richard Viguerie is a sell-out. He's willing to accept nationalization so long as a sham investigation is conducted first. Of course the bias of any government investigation is that government is not the culprit, and the nature of the scapegoat will depend on which party controls the investigation. Mr. Viguerie always comes crawling back to the Republicans, though they are now the party that has given us what George Will calls "the most leftist administration in American history." The Chinese communists extoll the virtues of capitalism, while the American Republicans sing the praises of socialism. Nixon would smile cynically.
William Sankey
I can tell you what will happen. NOTHING. Any one who steps forward, will be vilified. Just like Richard said.
It happened to me. I was in the Air Force for 25 years. I settled in small town Iowa. There were things going on in city hall that was not right. I ran and got elected to the city council. I found out that there was a problem with the utility department. Actually in the billing and accounts receivable. There was no oversight. The lady running it was, supposed outstanding member of the community. Well, I did some investigation and the lady resigned. There is over $100,000 missing, but the lady is a member of a family who settled this town and has such a good reputation. Also another family did not believe in paying real estate taxs. I also started the process of getting these properties back on the tax roll. Well guess what.
I am now the worst man in town, because of these two familys. This is what will happen to who ever runs a full independent investigation. The media will do all they can to prevent an investigation. It will be just like what happened here in this town, except on a larger scale.
GARY HILL
INVESTAGATE SO THAT CRIMINAL CHARGES CAN BE BROUGHT AGAINST THOSE WHO COOKED THE BOOKS, TOOK THE MONEY AND RAN.
BUT NO BAILOUT!!!!
Timothy Birdnow
Mr. Viguerie is right; this was a scandal of titanic proportions, and I suspect a number of people in Congress should go to jail over this. The sham ``bailout`` is really a cover-up, by the Bush Administration as much as the Democrats. Granted, Bush tried to reform Fannie and Freddie, but he was right on board with the ``affordable housing`` movement, and his own Justice Department and others coerced lenders to make sub-prime loans.
I remember reading the whole crazy idea back in `02 or `03; since landlords didn`t want to participate in Section 8 housing (and they don`t because of the draconian requirements the government puts on them, requiring that they make all sorts of improvements on the property, then not paying if one of their own inspectors misses an inspection or files paperwork improperly, as well as low-balling the rent) so they were going to push for loans so Section 8 people could BUY houses rather than rent. These are people who cannot rent on the open market because they have no income or terrible credit, and the government was going to demand they receive homeloans! It`s much more expensive-and demands far more responsibility-to own property than to rent it. Real smart, that!
But Congress saw a way to buy votes and funnel money to Chris Cox and Barack Obama, so they took it. This has been as dirty of an issue as I`ve seen; some accountability is necessary, or the bailout will accomplish nothing. It likely will accomplish nothing anyway, except Socialize the Mortgage industry.
Larry Picchiotti
Mr. Martin sums it up perfectly. The current Republican party is just as bad as the Democrats. Conservatives need to vote third party (Libertarian or Constitution) to get real change.
Matt Kratoville
Gee, folks, what now? Socialized Mortgages?????
What a country!!!
John Ternest
Well said, much nicer than my thoughts. I believe the Attorney General should be writing up warrants for arresting these criminals from bush on down . There should be an arming of the public to arrest all of the bastards that want the average citizen to pay for their greed and mismanagement. All the bankers and mortgage houses top officials should be arrested and jailed. The people that defaulted on their loans knew beforehand what could happen and most of them took out their equity and want to screw over the responsible citizen and make him pay for their greed and corruption. Vote out any incumbent that allows this to happen . Nowhere in the constitution does it say to give welfare to crooks.
FGH
SOCIALISM FOR WALL STREET. Or is it FRAUD STREET. Socialism limits freedom, chokes productivity and taxes the productive citizens progressively. It bankrupts nations. It hides behinds mountains of debt and ruins the paper currency through inflation. Why should taxpayers becomes VICTIMS of the political actions of liberal Democrats and big government Republicans to the tune of $700 billion? You and I know how $700 billion can become $1 trillion, then $2 trillion and more and more. This proposed bailout is a sinkhole full of quicksand with no way out. When you call your representatives ask them why did the oversight committees in the House and Senate allow the FATCATS on Fraud street to turn our financial system into gambling casinos????
allison
I think it's sad that the conservative pawn Palin is nothing but a pawn and will be thrown out like the baby in the bathwater should the bailout fly. The bailout as is -- should not fly but McCain needs a VP that is credible and one in whom Americans can feel confidant especially in this economic disaster. Bush should be impeached along with Cheney now. Richard is correct - they cannot be trusted. The best thing McCain can do now is go ahead with the debate and tell America where he stands. He'll probably support the bailout in some form and conservatives will have to watch the bathwater go down the drain, baby and all, unless Dr. Ron Paul steps in for an emergency delivery!!!!
Nicolas Martin
I agree that it is economic fascism. But I wonder why, in his last post, Mr. Viguerie said about this fascism: "No consideration of bailout until AFTER full investigation." Fascism becomes suitable after it is investigated?
richard viguerie
Mr Martin
I do not support THE BAILOUT. What I'm calling for is a thorough and complete investigation. Which may take 6+ months. Then lets debate THE BAILOUT and work to defeat it.
Nicolas Martin
Mr. Viguerie, in your prior blog post you did not unqualifiedly oppose the bailout. You wrote, "Congress must refuse to take up bailout legislation until a thorough investigation determines who is responsible for the financial crisis," That is clearly not a categorical renunciation of the bailout, it is making it contingent on investigations. Fascism postponed is still fascism.
Jeff
What are we to beleive? No matter what decision is made there will be an economic fall that all Americans will pay for. I ask this objectively, were the American People supportive during the rise of the economy reaping the benefits of financial security and rising equities in property? The American people have been mis-guided, however not all were so easily fooled. Maybe it is our education system that ultimately failed to educate generations on economics. Come on people you cant say that you did not see this coming 4 years ago. No matter what decision is made the damage is done, the people will have to suffer in this crisis. Quit pointing blame educate yourself on this disaster and become part of the "FIX" not the temporary solution. I have lost all faith in Washington and Wall Street, I do have faith in the American People to recognize their part in this economic decline and stand up and fix this by admitting they had an active role.
I am tired of American People claiming to be the victims and blaming Washington for everything. If we have to increase our taxes $2,500.00 this year to bail out these companies that obviously violated our trust then that is what we must do, however I will say before I agree there better be a legitimate plan in place to ensure that every penny used is accounted for and documented for our American Investors to view.
Sue Tovey
You are one hundred percent on the mark! The American people and the Congress are being railroaded into a situation that is fraudulent in nature.......a total power grab by the Federal Reserve. The American people are against it in huge numbers, and before any money changes hands, the situation should be investigated from start to finish. Who is REALLY AT FAULT HERE?
"Where has Secr.Paulson been while all of this was taking place?" Wasn't he supposed to be working for the American people? Obviously, he was not watching the store.....or was he?

Mr Vigueri,
I am a registered conservative for 35+ years and I disagree with you on the fact that Mr. McCain might risk all the gains he has made with conservatives if he help with this Necessary bailout. This bail out will help small business job growth etc. etc. He just needs to make sure their are guidelines to protect this investment in America's future.

I am a conservative. You don't have any idea what you are talking about. The plan is sound. It will actually turn a profit over time.
Jinny
I find your comments ridiculous. You were responsible for helping to defeat George H. W. Bush. You called for a democratic congress in 2006 to teach conservatives a lesson.
You helped bring Bill Clinton and his wife to the White House for a disastrous 8 years, you helped bring back the liberals to congress, that really helped us now didn't it? Are we better off in this country because of their elections and your input? NO!
