Can you imagine a Republican Member of Congress who voted for a standalone bill to give your Social Security money to an illegal alien surviving the next Republican Primary election? Neither can I.

Steve Scalise made a big mistake in letting GOP-E lobbyist John Feehery pick his staff. People are policy. You can’t carry out a conservative agenda opposed to crony capitalism if you allow a DC lobbyist who outwardly disdains everything from cutting goverment waste to homeschooling pick your staff.

The contest for House Majority Whip is not between Reps Steve Scalise, Peter Roskam and some hypothetical perfect conservative. It is between Scalise, Roskam and the only candidate in the race with a record of standing for conservative principles when the chips are down – Marlin Stutzman.
