Our friend Frank Gaffney in one of his recent must-listen "Secure Freedom Minute" broadcasts gave a heads-up that we have new allies in the fight against the Democrats' unconstitutional plan to give away American sovereignty through two World Health
Organization treaties – 22 Republican state Attorneys General.
The Biden administration’s outrageous efforts to surrender our nation’s sovereignty and personal medical freedoms to a Chinese Communist Party asset running the World Health Organization turns out to have another problem: It would also supplant U.S. states’ rights to make decisions on public health, a power the federal government is not assigned under the Constitution – and, therefore, is not entitled to give away to Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus or anybody else.
This position was powerfully declared last week by twenty-two state attorneys general in the second formal throwdown with President Biden over the WHO in as many weeks. Like every Republican member of the Senate, these states’ senior legal officers reject the accords still being stealthily negotiated less than three weeks before they are supposed to be approved.
In a direct confrontation with Democrats push this stealth giveaway of our constitutional liberty the Attorneys General said, “We will resist any attempt to enable the WHO to directly or indirectly set public policy for our citizens,” in a letter organized by Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen.
The WHO will discuss drafts of its proposed pandemic agreement and amendments to the International Health Regulations (IHR) at the upcoming World Health Assembly, May 27 to June 1. The proposals aim to give the WHO more authority to prevent, prepare for and respond to pandemics.
The AGs argued that the proposed amendments would “transform the WHO from an advisory, charitable organization into the world’s governor of public health.”
At the end of May, President Biden intends to join other nations in supplanting our Constitution and the liberties it guarantees with something called “global governance.”
Their plan, which has been stealthily negotiated for several years at the World Health Organization (WHO), would permit no informed debate – let alone require the approval of the American people through their elected representatives in the United States Senate.
How bad are these treaties?
The World Health Organization (WHO), led by its Director-General Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus, who owes his rise to the Chinese Communist Party, is finalizing documents that would allow the WHO to dictate global public health policy. The result will be a crushing of national sovereignty and individual medical freedoms in the United States and the world.
The WHO would accomplish this via a Pandemic Treaty and by amending International Health Regulations that would oblige the U.S. and 195 other nations to submit to whatever its Director-General deems to be an actual or potential “Public Health Emergency of International Concern” (PHEIC). All Member Countries must also carry out whatever the Director-General determines is the appropriate response. Such PHEICs can include perceived “health” emergencies other than pandemics, including for example: climate change, reproductive health, immigration, gun violence or even potential emergencies involving plants, animals, or ecosystems.
After Tedros and the World Health Organization’s catastrophic mishandling of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is utterly unacceptable to give the WHO still more, let alone binding, control over our public health to impose the same measures—based on the China model—that failed so spectacularly last time. Considering the enormity of the stakes, preventing our country from being subjected to such medical tyranny masquerading as “global health and pandemic preparedness” has taken on critical urgency.
And the concern about the loss of American sovereignty is not a paranoid fantasy of Rightwing whackos as Democrats would have us believe.
