Craig Shirley: When The Democrats Lose Today

When the Democrats lose today, they will be saddled with and searching for yet another excuse as to why they lost. Again.

Democrats. obsessed with power, naturally see Stalinist-like plots wherever they look while searching fruitlessly for the real reason as to why they lost yet another presidential campaign.

Joe Biden's foolish, stupid and heartless comments about the supporters of Donald Trump as ”garbage" is one for the history books and will shortly become enshrined in Democrat lore as the reason why they lost to such an obviously inferior candidate. And they may be right. It’s already become a tired cliché that his gaffe is the equivalent to Hillary’s infamous “deplorables” slur. And they may be right.

Of course, slow thinking left wing careerists like Nancy Pelosi will say the reason why Kamala lost is because she didn’t drill down hard enough on collectivism. That she should have gone full “nanny start.” And no, they won’t be right. The closest this country has ever come to full on socialism was during the New Deal when the federal government actually got into regulating baby diapers.

Talk about a Nanny State.

But the foolish Democrats look for any excuse every four years when they lose, and they have been doing it since 1968.

Vice President Hubert Humphrey supposedly lost because of Richard Nixon’s “Secret Plan” to end the Vietnam War and not because the incumbent Lyndon Johnson had so screwed up the country, any change was acceptable.

Of course, the mythology in 1972 was George McGovern lost because of Watergate and not because their nominee George McGovern was a total bozo.

Ronald Reagan won in 1980 over incumbent Jimmy Carter because of “Debategate” or an “October Surprise” or because Carter had halitosis. The left has never been able to accept that a Hollywood movie star could beat their intellectual titan Carter into the ground and go on to become one of our greatest presidents. To the left, to run government, you must be in government, Or academia. Or anything that smacks of collectivism. Certainly not a businessman, or a farmer, or a soldier or a Hollywood actor.

And who can forget Willie Horton? Surely Michael Dukakis lost because of the Willie Horton issue and not because he was a lefty so out of touch with average Americans, he could not even screw up anger at the hypothetical raping of his wife.

This is the problem with Democrats. They keep looking for excuses when the fault is not in the stars but themselves. This is a center right country rooted in common sense and they keep pitching leftist, wacko anti American woke ideas. They offend people and they scare people. They have little in common with the average American.

When they lose, there will be the usual finger pointing again, as there always is when Democrats lose. There will be panels and discussions and white papers and polling and incessant talking but they need to realize once and for all their exhausted, ultra left-wing politics are not suitable for America now, or ever.

They need to come to grips with the fact that our ideas are better than their ideas.

Let's all hope and pray that the Communists lose this election so badly that they can't steal it no matter how much they cheat. But Communists aka liberals are like mosquitoes. It seems like no matter how hard you try to get rid of them they always come back.
