Last night, in a speech mostly devoted to mythologizing herself, Democrat Border Czar Kamala Harris accepted the Democratic Party’s nomination for President and barely mentioned the border:
…I know the importance of safety and security, especially at our border.
Last year, Joe and I brought together Democrats and conservative Republicans to write the strongest border bill in decades. The Border Patrol endorsed it. But Donald Trump believes a border deal would hurt his campaign. So, he ordered his allies in Congress to kill the deal. Well, I refuse to play politics with our security. Here is my pledge to you: As President, I will bring back the bipartisan border security bill that he killed. And I will sign it into law.
I know we can live up to our proud heritage as a nation of immigrants— And reform our broken immigration system. We can create an earned pathway to citizenship— And secure our border. America, we must also be steadfast in advancing our security and our values abroad.
Notice there’s not one word about what has been happening at the border – record
numbers of illegal aliens being ushered into the interior of the United States by Kamala Harris, only the endorsement of a phony “border security” bill that devoted most of its provisions to making it easier for illegal aliens to stay in America, rather than be apprehended and returned to their country of origin.
So, here’s the real Kamala Harris record as Border Czar: Harris did nothing or should we say nothing effective.
She had to be bullied by the media and Republicans in Congress into going anywhere near the border and made one trip to Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, where the Biden Administration was bypassing the regular immigration process to fly aliens directly to the United States using taxpayer dollars.
Harris has been an abject failure in stopping the tsunami of illegal aliens crossing our southern border. On the Biden-Harris watch, there have been over 8 million migrant encounters nationwide, 6.7 million of which have been at the Southwest border. Worse yet, over 1.7 million known gotaways—illegal immigrants who have evaded Border Patrol— are now living in the interior of the United States without documentation and without having undergone any vetting by immigration officials.
And, it is worth noting that the first bill she introduced in the Senate was to guarantee taxpayer-funded lawyers to illegal aliens. She also supported decriminalizing illegal border crossings.
It appears that as border czarina, she unilaterally adopted that policy, and more than eight million illegal immigrants later, here we are.
As for the “bipartisan border security bill” Harris promises to bring back, here’s what we said about it at the time it was being debated and ultimately failed in the Democrat-controlled Senate.
Based on the leaks and Indian signs we picked-up from our friends on Capitol Hill we were confident in opposing the Lankford – Biden – Schumer open border bill before the official text was released.
And since it has been made public, we think Senator Ted Cruz was way too polite in terming it a “stinking pile of crap bill.”
As our friend Robert Romano explained in a must-read article for Americans for Limited Government, under Section 3301 of Division C, Title III of the legislation, entitled “Border Emergency Authority” for a Title 42-like emergency removal authority, the Secretary of Homeland Security would only have the power to activate the authority on a discretionary basis when there are at least 4,000 illegal entries a day: “The Secretary may activate the border emergency authority if, during a period of 7 consecutive calendar days, there is an average of 4,000 or more aliens who are encountered each day.”
That works out to 1.46 million illegal entries a year if the average held Mr. Romano calculated. Any fewer than that, and the President and Secretary of Homeland Security would not have the ability to close the border.
The border emergency would only be activated on a mandatory basis when the seven-day rolling average of illegal entries did not hit 5,000 illegal aliens a day: “The Secretary shall activate the border emergency authority if… during a period of 7 consecutive calendar days, there is an average of 5,000 or more aliens who are encountered each day; or… on any 1 calendar day, a combined total of 8,500 or more aliens are encountered.”
That’s a threshold of 1.85 million illegal entries a year if the average held. Any fewer, and an administration would have no obligation to do anything, explained Mr. Romano.
Conservatives are united in opposition to the betrayal of American sovereignty being championed by Senator James Lankford of Oklahoma. And Lankford has already been censured by his own state Republican Party for supporting and advocating opening the border to almost 2 million more illegal aliens.
What’s more the leaders of the conservative movement who are part of the Conservative Action Project, have issued a “Memo for the Movement” urging conservatives at the grassroots to join them in opposing the Lankford - Biden – Schumer open borders bill.
As they pointed out, the reality is that President Biden does not need new authorities to secure the border. He simply has to enforce existing law. President Trump was able to secure the border and drop illegal crossings to historic lows simply by enforcing the laws available to him. It is a fiction that more authority is needed to help President Biden do his job, and it is questionable whether, even with new legal authorities granted to him, Biden would even enforce those laws.

The Harris-Biden administration took 94 executive actions in the first 100 days to dismantle President Trump’s border security — including halting construction of the border wall and ending the “Remain in Mexico” policy.
Harris implemented a catch-and-release scheme via the CBP One app that has allowed millions of unvetted illegal immigrants to be resettled in U.S. communities with zero oversight.
Under Harris, at least ten million illegal immigrants, 30 tons of fentanyl, and criminals from all over the world have crossed the border — as American citizens are raped and murdered by illegals with no right to be here.
Kamala Harris would take it ten steps further if she is elected in November:
Kamala wants to make every state a “sanctuary state.”
Kamala backs MASS AMNESTY for millions of illegals already in the country.
Kamala supports decriminalizing illegal border crossings.
Kamala thought Barack Obama deported too many illegal immigrants.
Kamala compared ICE officers to the KKK and said we need to start "from scratch" with the agency that arrests and deports rapists and killers.
Kamala supports taxpayer-funded health care coverage for illegal immigrants.
Kamala wants to shut down immigration detention centers and release thousands of criminals.
Kamala said a border wall is "medieval" and mocked the idea that terrorists would take advantage of our southern border.
As a senator, Kamala urged the Senate not to fund additional Border Patrol personnel.
This week’s Democratic National Convention was all about erasing their records and remaking and repackaging Kamala Harris and Tim Walz into something resembling moderates that might be acceptable to the 62% of Likely U.S. Voters who consider the current situation with illegal crossings at the U.S.-Mexico border to be a crisis.
Don’t buy the newly repackaged Democrat candidate for President Kamala Harris, when the old Border Czar Kamala Harris failed so miserably in the job a large majority of Americans consider to be the most important issue in this year’s crucial election.
