From the moment the FBI announced – even before they had unlocked Thomas Matthew Crooks’ phone – that the 20-year-old man who shot former President Donald Trump “acted
alone,” experienced observers began to see a cover up being put into motion.
And subsequent events have only solidified that perception.
Yesterday, after a great deal of bipartisan congressional pressure was brought on the Department of Homeland Security (parent department of the Secret Service) Senators were offered a “conference call briefing” on what the Department’s after-action analysis to-date has revealed.
As Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin put it, “The USSS Senate briefing was unbelievably uninformative.”
Senator Mike Lee of Utah had a similar take, posting to X:
And … just like that, Secret Service wrapped up the briefing after taking only a few questions
So much smoke and mirrors
So little accountability
It turns out only four questions were allowed and the rest of the Senators who were left waiting in the queue were told to submit questions in writing.
Senator Johnson, having danced in that street before with the Biden administration, had already delivered a letter to the appropriate Department heads, text below.
FOX News later reported that Speaker of the House Mike Johnson will announce more details about a "task force" to investigate the Trump shooting "next week." Speaker Johnson, who has already called for the resignation or firing of USSS Director Kimberly Cheatle, said "The House is conducting and IMMEDIATE and THOROUGH investigation of these tragic events. That work has ALREADY begun. The American people deserve to know the truth."
However, Johnson has yet to announce the structure of the task force and which members, from both parties, might serve.
Other sources claim that DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is actively trying to block the public testimony of Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle.
The Department of Homeland Security inspector general has also said it has opened an investigation into the Secret Service’s failure to prevent the assassination attempt on President Donald Trump. However:
Kimberly Cheatle, Director of the Secret Service, will testify behind closed doors.
FBI Director Christopher Wray will testify behind closed doors.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas will testify behind closed doors.
Separate from the “taskforce” envisioned by Speaker Johnson, House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Rep. Mark Green has summoned DHS Secretary Mayorkas, FBI Director Wray, and USSS Director Cheatle testify before the Committee on July 23, with responses to written questions due July 19.
Chairman Green put his expectations for the hearing in a letter to the principals, text below.
The Capitol Switchboard is (202-224-3121), call your Senators and Representative TODAY to demand that no cover-up of the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump be allowed and that they force the immediate public testimony of Kimberly Cheatle, Director of the Secret Service, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, and FBI Director Christopher Wray.

It may be that the shooter was "acting" alone, as there was no one else identified as "acting" with him that day at that location, but who helped him train and plan the operation? How did a kid who was rejected by his high school rifle team for being a "bad shot" learn to shoot so well, and to employ the tactics he did? Most suspiciously, why did the FBI HQ (the same ones who brought us Operation Midyear Exam and Operation Crossfire Hurricane) take over this investigation? If they had left the investigation in the hands of the Pittsburgh field office, I would have much more confidence in the results.
Asking Democratic Party lawmakers to investigate the near Trump assassination is like asking them to ban abortions forever.
The obfuscation of what really happened will continue for ever. Do we know for certainty who was behind JFK's assassination . . . ?
Maybe Congress, who holds the purse strings, should play some hard ball with the alphabets when they insist on the "ongoing investigation" BS... in order to avoid questions under pain of perjury or in order to hide evidence for years (Hunter's laptop ring a bell?). The deep state is out of control, and it's all due to the feckless oversight Congress has been conducting for decades. Yo, Congress critters...take their money away, and throw a few of the worst offenders in jail. And make sure it's a jail to which the DOJ political prisoners have been sent.
The conspiracy is the assassination attempt was nothing more than a photo op:
