The Indispensable Julie Kelly

Updated: Jun 30, 2021

History shows us that in a free society there is always someone to step up to the challenges

of office, always someone to start the neighborhood grassroots organization that grows into a nationwide movement, and someone brave enough to call out injustice when they see it. In a free society no one is indispensable it seems.

However, in these troubled times, when America is becoming less free by the hour, there truly are a few people who have made themselves indispensable to the cause of liberty. There are others, but Rep. Louie Gohmert in the House of Representatives, Tucker Carlson on Fox News, Dan Bongino on Fox and on his radio show top my list, and one other you may have never heard of – journalist and political commentator Julie Kelly.

Julie Kelly, through her Twitter account @julie_kelly2 and her articles for American Greatness, and other outlets, has almost single handedly brought to national attention the plight of the political detainees arrested for their presence at the Capitol during the January 6 riot.

Scratch any coverage of the outrageous treatment of these American citizens, a number of whom are veterans with years of honorable service in our military, and you will most likely find Julie Kelly’s reporting as a source – if not the only source – for the facts of their case.

Why is this?

Because Julie Kelly has been about the only journalist with the courage to detail the persecution of these American patriots and to object – loudly – to their solitary confinement, their beatings by guards at DC’s MAGA GULAG, and for the blatantly political nature of the charge-stacking prosecutors from the U.S. Department of “Justice” have been using to bully arrestees into pleading guilty to charges from which thousands of Leftwing protestors have been allowed to walk away.

And Julie Kelly has broken details of apparent Capitol Police misconduct and gathered hours of video that show what really happened on January 6 – and it wasn’t the “insurrection” that the establishment media would like you to believe occurred.

Three quick outtakes from some of her many writings and posts on the subject will illustrate just how indispensable Ms. Kelly is to the pursuit of truth and justice in the matter of the January 6 Capitol riot.

In “Recent History Suggests FBI Involvement in January 6” she demonstrated and explained in connect-the-dots detail how the FBI has acted as agents provocateur against the Right and helped feed the media lies to drive narratives about Donald Trump and the MAGA Movement:

If the past is prologue, there’s no reason to consider the FBI’s involvement a “conspiracy theory” rather than a solid likelihood. How many times have we been down this road over the past five years—assured that claims about the FBI’s malfeasance and abuse were “conspiracy theories” only later to learn they were true?

We were told the FBI did not use spies to infiltrate the Trump campaign. They did. We were told the FBI didn’t ambush and frame former National Security Advisor Mike Flynn. They did.

We were told the FBI would not mislead the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court. They did. We were told the FBI wouldn’t doctor official reports or correspondence. They did. We were told the FBI would never use a sketchy Russian national to bolster the collusion case against Trump. They did.

Sadly, the FBI is one of the least trustworthy agencies in the federal government—and that’s saying a lot. The stench of Jim Comey’s deceitful reign has irrevocably tarnished the reputation of the FBI for tens of millions of Americans.

In “As the Big Lie About Sicknick Persists, Alleged Attackers Languish in Jail” Ms. Kelly was one of the few journalists to pursue the story of Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick’s cause of death and to tell the truth – that Officer Sicknick died of natural causes, not being hit with a fire extinguisher – even as the establishment media persists to this day to promoting the lie that Sicknick was killed by protestors at the Capitol to justify keeping some of the protestors locked up.

And in “Did Cops Attack and Provoke Peaceful Protesters on January 6?” Ms. Kelly reported on the case of Thomas Webster, a decorated Marine and ex-NYPD officer with no criminal record, was arrested in February.

Mr. Webster was charged with seven counts including assaulting the officer with a flag pole that was attached to his U.S. Marine Corps flag. As Ms. Kelly’s review of the video record established, he did not hit the officer with the pole, but he’s been behind bars ever since.

As Julie Kelly reported:

So, what provoked Webster’s physical exchange with another cop? In the clip, Webster screams at officers from both USCP and D.C. Metro police who were fortified behind a row of bike racks. “You fucking piece of shit. You fucking commie motherfuckers, man. You wanna attack Americans? No, fuck that.”

Exactly.

Had the government decided to include video of the situation several minutes before Webster’s meltdown, it would have shown, according to court filings, police officers attacking and provoking protesters outside the Capitol who were doing nothing wrong.

In a June 17 court filing asking for his client’s release, here is how Webster’s attorney described part of the body cam footage that wasn’t released to CNN:

For the ten minutes prior to encountering the defendant, Officer N.R. can be seen reaching over the metal barrier and pushing a female protester holding a flag to the ground on two separate occasions. The protesters . . . were by and large peaceful. It was only after tear gas and pepper spray were deployed by police upon this group of peaceful protesters that the crowds changed.

Officer N.R. [the cop Webster allegedly assaulted] was equipped with a helmet, a shield, a gas mask, and a full complement of body armor. [P]rotesters—who did not attend the protest with a mask or face shield—are observed suffering the effects of being gassed and pepper sprayed by police. Officer N.R. can also be observed mocking several protesters who were complaining about this Officer’s excessive use of force.

Angered by the use of police force . . . Webster is heard angrily referring to the police officers as ‘commie motherfuckers.’ The video depicts this officer reaching beyond the metal barriers and pushing Webster on the chest. It is at this point that Officer N.R. again reaches over the metal barricade and punches Webster on the left side of his face.

The Justice Department disputes Webster’s account. But he made the same accusation under oath during a February court hearing. In his interview with the FBI, Webster also said the officer “was encouraging me to jump over the barrier . . . like waving me on with his hand.” Webster told agents the officer landed “a big sucker punch” on him.

Why would Webster lie? The fact is Julie Kelly’s reporting on the video proves he didn’t.

What makes Julie Kelly so indispensable is she is the only journalist who has doggedly followed the details of the January 6 riot and the plight of the arrestees to reveal one of the most underreported aspects of January 6 – how law enforcement attacked Americans doing nothing wrong and how hundreds of Americans languish in jail for the crime of supporting Donald Trump.

Thank you for this article, George. While I can't read 'everything' on a timely basis, it is nice to go back and read some things a couple of days later. The Truth will always 'come to the surface'. The citizens of this country are facing their biggest threat: from those given 'authority' to act on their behalf. The patriots are getting "tested' by the "authorities". My fond hope is that the 'cover gets blown off' on all this 'house-of-cards' pretending. Like Philip, I intend to visit Julie's website, American Greatness, to get honest, truthful reporting of the "facts" (vis-a-vis the "opinions" of the so-called Mainstream Media).

Let's all have a "shout out" for the God-granted founding and continuation of th…

In case there's any doubt, yes, the USCP and D.C. Metro police have been infiltrated, by political design, with leftist, community policing, thugs, as per the -rat party reimagining of what policing should look like...sort of like their antecedent brown shirt fascist socialists of historical infamy.

The battle cry of Democrats for the last 12 months defund the police will cost then in 2022 and now they know it. the democrats might have corrupted the DOJ and IRS again. but the worm is turning on more corruption? Ex-FBI chief gave $100K to Biden grandkid trust as he sought ‘future work’ from Hunter emails, Hey let's past hat with the DOJ, maybe all the federal agencies, Hunter should have enough work for everybody.
