In a perfect world, politicians would be invited to appear on cable news political talk shows to wax over issue positions and be quizzed by neutral hosts on records and backgrounds in order to back up assertions they’ve made in the campaign, and the truth would be found somewhere in the process.
Instead, recently, or at least ever since the debate between a very defensive and aggravated Donald J. Trump and Democrat cackling Kamala Harris – joined by the ABC Moderators fanning the flames – the country has been taken by storm fixating on rumors concerning cats and dogs becoming the main dinner course of Haitian “migrants” who shouldn’t even be residing in this country to begin with.
It's safe to say Republicans are sick of being asked about the Haitians’ dietary preferences, because one, the subject just revolves around a difference of opinion, and two, the sensationalized nature of the theme takes away from other material that calls out for a greater examination by the establishment media. Like Kamala Harris’s and Tim Walz’s governing records and positions on issues.
How bad has it gotten? Last weekend revealed the truth. In an article titled “JD Vance accuses CNN's Dana Bash of giving 'multiple choice answers' to Harris, Walz during contentious clash,” Hanna Panreck reported at Fox News the other day:
“Thousands of Haitians have arrived in Springfield since the COVID-19 pandemic, and residents have been pointing to an uptick in crime, mayhem and car crashes due to the massive influx of new residents. In a town of 58,000 people, about 20,000 Haitians have arrived, according to city officials…
“’The evidence is the firsthand account of my constituents who are telling me that this happened and, by the way, I’ve been trying to talk about the problems in Springfield for months and the American media ignored it. There was a congressional hearing just last week of Angel Moms who lost children because Kamala Harris let criminal migrants into this country who then murdered their children. The American media totally ignored this stuff until Donald Trump and I start talking about cat memes,’ [Vance said]
“’I say that we’re creating a story, meaning we’re creating the American media focusing on it. I didn’t create 20,000 illegal migrants coming into Springfield thanks to Kamala Harris' policies. Her policies did that, but yes, we created the actual focus that allowed the American media to talk about this story and the suffering caused by Kamala Harris' policies,’ Vance responded.”
Yes, it may be true, both Trump (in last week’s debate) and Vance found a creative way for the establishment media to finally pay attention to something that’s been going on right under their noses for years, but in doing so, the Republican ticket opened up a can of worms no one could have anticipated prior to the actual happening.
Naturally, the American media’s reaction to the story has been over-the-top and generated a backlash of negative publicity that hasn’t been helpful to the good side. Americans with reactionist tendencies seem only to see the imagery of slaughtered pets and poor, downtrodden “migrants” who are being picked on by the racist, sexist, “deplorables” MAGA voters, not the situation beneath all the hype.
The actual story has much more to do with allowing those Haitians into a peaceful midwestern small city and doesn’t have anything at all to do with a he-said-she-said dispute between the Trump ticket and the Springfield authorities involving cats and dogs and geese and ducks and… (sounds like “Surrey with the fringe on top from Oklahoma, doesn’t it?)
Facebook has been inundated with posts from liberals who sympathize with… the illegal aliens, like it was the citizens of the Ohio town who were in the wrong by not being welcoming enough to the illegal invaders. What a farce.
Liberals also claimed there were bomb threats because of the story, which were completely debunked. They were phoned in from a foreign country. They're are shameless.
Let’s just assume, for argument’s sake, that none of the reports of illegal Haitians are true and that this large body of “undocumented newcomers” is, as a population, upstanding former citizens of one of the poorest, least educated nations in the world and they have come here, en masse, just to live peacefully, take jobs that Americans (purportedly) don’t want and to create new customers for the bountiful resources that are available to Americans of the region who couldn’t otherwise hope to legally procure for their own use and enjoyment.
Yup, buy stuff -- and food -- that nobody wants, too. And spend money that nobody needs. It’s that way in the liberals’ illegal alien fantasy world, isn’t it?
Let’s also further assume that border state Republican governors really are racist against every nationality that’s streamed across the southern border during the term of senile Joe Biden and cackling Kamala Harris and therefore ordered barriers put into the Rio Grande River solely because they don’t want brown people – or Africans or Chinese or Venezuelans – to enter. Or, that the governors won’t ignore the multitude of drugs, human trafficking or fentanyl infiltrating this country in record amounts.
Yes, you heard me, everything the Democrats have been denying about what’s happening within the interior of this country is just a fabrication of Donald Trump’s over-active imagination in this scenario.
Well, what about the things that can’t be denied about illegal immigration, that some liberals (obviously not the most ardent of deniers) may even concede is taking place as we speak?
Illegal aliens, by nature, are human beings who are not planned for. Yet still they exist and no government can count on them being here because they are, well, illegal. Say you’re planning a party for a bunch of guests, most of which you’ve invited and are looking forward to getting to your house.
Or how about planning a wedding? Most of us have done this at one time or another, haven’t we? You make a guest list, hire caterers, book a venue, calculate the amount of dance floor space needed, the number of chairs (if the ceremony is in a church, you can skip this step), the quantity of flowers to decorate the room, the number of bridesmaids, groomsmen, whether additional help will be required to assist elderly attendees, how many bartenders, the amount of booze, Hors d'oeuvres, party favors, the number of hours for a photographer and/or a videographer… and if you’re like me, you still worry about what you left out.
Then, what if, on the day the event is supposed to happen, ten times the number of guests show up, and they’re not the least bit interested in watching your son or daughter get married, but they do take a keen interest in the necessities that you provide. They don’t have any money, mind you, probably don’t speak the language, aren’t dressed in appropriate attire and demand, thanks to a gaggle of liberals who informed them that they’re entitled to such things, that you hand it over to them.
And they get kind of ornery when you don’t comply. It can get ugly.
Extend the logic a little further. When the uninvited guests arrive, they demand shelter and common supplies. Sure, you’ve blocked a number of rooms at convenient local hotels for your guests to stay – and pay for – but the aliens just come to town and are more than content to live in tents or other open spaces until some benevolent government official says they can’t stay there, but there are hotel rooms available, free of charge to get the surge of humanity under a climate-controlled roof.
Meanwhile, there aren’t enough police in town to keep order, but that’s of no concern to the “humanitarian” pro-illegal alien crowd who just seeks to ease their guilty consciences and offer a new place to live for these American-Dream pursuing foreigners. Nor are there enough schools to house their children, or English language teachers to instruct them in the customs, laws and traditions of this country.
Further, some of these children, as kids of all cultures are known to do, get in trouble. Some of them have psychological or health anomalies that would require treatment or monitoring, but the town’s resources and personnel are stretched to the breaking point by the influx of extra people and can’t even do their duty to the citizens who live there and are entitled to receive the benefits or services that their tax dollars pay for.
If even one school child is beaten up or assaulted by “newcomers”, it’s a preventable tragedy, which could subject the government authorities to being sued for restitution and recompense from the wronged party. The perpetrator will need representation, of course, which will have to come from somewhere.
What else? How about telephone and internet service? The “newcomers” insist that they be provided phones so they can communicate with each other or social services for common, ordinary, everyday needs. They have to be able to receive a phone call regarding a job? Or transportation to go and pick up an assistance gift card? Or be able to go to a store and obtain those things? Clothing for their backs?
The long and short of it is, even if the “newcomers” are perfectly law abiding, which they’re not, and compliant with every rule and community ordinance, they are still an incredible burden on the host locale, because they are illegal. And they’re not wanted, not because they happen to be non-white or are foreigners or because they’re poor.
It’s because they’re uninvited squatters who disrupted the balance of the people who live there and didn’t ask for the burden and are stuck with cleaning up the mess. And then paying for it.
Kamala Harris and the Democrats created a controversy where there wasn’t one. This is the “Haitian illegal alien whip” scandal all over again, though this time it’s a thousand miles away from the Rio Grande River and it isn’t border patrol agents riding the horses – it’s auto accidents and local pets and wildlife that’s drawing the media focus away from the epicenter.
