In what might have been the most bizarre moment ever in a national political debate, The moderators of last night’s Vice President candidate debate asked Democrat Tim Walz how he changed his mind about banning “assault weapons” over his career. “I sat in that office with those Sandy Hook parents. I became friends with school shooters. I’ve seen it,” Walz replied.
But that blunder came later as Democrat nominee for Vice President Tim Walz started off the night mistaking Iran for Israel, dropping the ball on the first big question about national security, whether Israel should conduct a preemptive strike on Iran, but for the rest of the night he was saved from crashing and burning by the largely substance-free questions the moderators posed.
The record is Kamala Harris has tried to appease the Iranian regime — the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism — since she took office. Of course, it has been a massive failure — one that will only worsen if she and Tim Walz are elected in November.
Here’s what CHQ readers need to know:
Iran has managed to make at least $90 billion from illicit oil sales under Kamala, largely due to "ongoing hesitance to enforce oil sanctions on Iran."
Iran had just $4 billion in foreign reserves when President Trump left office.
Even now, the Harris-Biden administration continues to waive sanctions on Iran — including as recently as August.
A sanctions waiver in March gave "Tehran continued access to more than $10 billion — money it can use to import goods and repay debts, freeing up $10 billion elsewhere to spend on terrorism, missiles, nuclear weapons and the repression of Iranian women."
Iran has directed assassination attempts on American soil against former U.S. officials.
Iran has targeted the Trump campaign and President Trump himself.
The Harris-Biden administration rescinded critical Trump-era policies that weakened Iran, including U.S. participation in U.N. sanctions on Iran, and have enabled Iran and its terror proxies in the process.
Kamala has done nothing to stand up to Iran. She told Iran in October of last year "don't” — and since her tepid “warning,” Iranian proxies have killed U.S. troops, attacked U.S. Navy ships, shot down U.S. drones, and Iran itself has attacked Israel.
A Harris-Walz administration would make the situation exponentially worse.
And on the border Walz tried to fake his way through Kamala Harris’s failure as Border Czar and Harris’s intentional choice to open the border.
Walz lied about the border after Kamala unleashed the worst border invasion in modern history — and it’ll be much, much worse if the two are elected.
Walz has done everything possible to bring the open border to Minnesota:
Walz backed mass amnesty for millions of illegal aliens.
Walz refused to call Kamala's unprecedented border invasion a "crisis."
Walz wants to provide "ladder[s]" to aid illegal immigrants in scaling the border wall.
Walz signed legislation giving illegal aliens free, taxpayer-funded health care and college.
Walz signed legislation allowing illegal aliens to get driver's licenses and title vehicles.
Walz opened an "Office of New Americans," which spends taxpayer dollars "solely on supporting immigrant and refugee integration" in the sanctuary state.
Walz bragged about mass migration overwhelming a small Minnesota town.
Walz fully supports "sanctuary cities" and "sanctuary states."
Kamala has done everything possible to decimate American border security:
Kamala admitted her policy was to "undo" President Trump's successful border security — and she made good on that promise. On day one, she terminated almost every Trump policy by halting the border wall, suspending deportations, terminating 'Remain in Mexico,' implementing catch-and-release, and more.
In 2021, Kamala was crowned "border czar" and illegal border crossings went one way: UP. The average number of illegal border crossings each month has nearly tripled under Kamala (196,000/month) over President Trump, while the number of illegals released into the country went from two-digit monthly releases under President Trump to five- and six-digit monthly releases under Kamala — and that doesn't include the illegals she ferried in through her phone app and migrant flights.
Kamala handed control of the border to the brutal cartels and gangs who have exploited the crisis to expand their grip. Mexican cartels are now making 26 TIMES as much as they made in 2018 while the infamous Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang builds a "criminal empire" in the U.S.
President Trump didn't need a “border bill” to secure the border — and Democrats don’t either. It was a MASS AMNESTY bill that would have put illegal aliens on a fast-track to citizenship, established a first-ever minimum number of illegals who must be imported (1.8+ million per year), funneled millions of dollars to left-wing organizations that enable human trafficking, and more.
A Harris-Walz presidency would take it ten steps further if they are elected in November — granting mass amnesty to tens of millions of illegal aliens, decriminalizing illegal border crossings, giving taxpayer-funded health care to illegal aliens, and more.
Harris-Walz will make every state a “sanctuary state.”

When confronted about lying about his association with Communist China, Walz refused to answer the question and failed to answer the question about the dates when he was in Red China and what he was doing there.
Here are the top lines on Walz’s lies about his associations with Red China: Walz claimed he visited China 30 times, which his campaign later said was a lie — and that he really only visited around 15 times. From 1992 to 2003, Walz traveled nearly every summer to China — and “honeymooned” there in 1994.
Walz taught a Chinese Communist Party-approved course in China soon after the Tiananmen Square massacre.
Walz’s company, Education Travel Adventures (ETA), benefitted from subsidies by the Chinese government, which sponsored students’ accommodations and transportation during the exchange programs.
Walz has repeatedly praised Communist China, saying that he had "never been treated better in his life" while living there and that there was "almost no crime." Walz recalled one of his trips to China as “a 15-day adventure of a lifetime.”
Walz got married in 1994 on the fifth anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre because “he wanted to have a date he’ll always remember.”
Walz has spent so much time in China, he learned the language: “I’ve lived in China and speak Chinese, I’m pretty friendly with China.”
Walz has close ties to the Twin Cities-based nonprofit organization Minnesota Global that houses an alleged CCP police station in Minnesota, which Walz has failed to shut down as governor.
Walz has repeatedly said that he doesn’t believe China should be seen as an adversary, even though the FBI has identified China as the greatest espionage threat to the U.S.
In 2019, Walz criticized President Trump’s tough-on-China trade policy and called for policies that put China first.
On abortion Walz tried to make Trump and Vance out to be anti-abortion radicals, when the real radicals are the Democrats and Walz and Harris. "Under Gov. Walz has an extensive record of abortion extremism. As governor, Walz legalized unrestricted abortion-on-demand until birth in Minnesota — “the most extreme abortion laws in the country.”
Walz signed legislation that eliminated informed consent, repealed a requirement that abortions be performed by physicians, repealed provisions to prevent coerced abortions, and allowed minors to obtain abortions without parental consent.
Walz signed legislation that removed a requirement to provide lifesaving care to babies born alive following botched abortions and dramatically weakened the state’s abortion data reporting requirements.
Walz signed legislation that repealed funding for pregnancy resource centers, which provided care and guidance for pregnant women and their unborn children.
Walz bragged about Minnesota being the “first state” to codify abortion-on-demand without limits.
Under Walz, eight babies survived abortion attempts in Minnesota — all of whom subsequently died after little or no lifesaving care was provided.
In Congress, Walz repeatedly opposed requiring lifesaving care for babies born following botched abortions, repeatedly voted against barring taxpayer dollars being used to fund abortion-on-demand, voted three times against prohibiting late-term abortions, and voted against criminal penalties for performing sex-selective abortions.
Walz once said he was so pro-abortion that Nancy Pelosi asked him if he should “tone it down.”
Walz’s position is echoed by Kamala, who couldn’t name a single limit she supports on abortion-on-demand.
The Harris-Walz position is grossly out of step with the American people:
Nearly three quarters of Americans OPPOSE abortion after 15 weeks, while just ten percent believe there should be no limits.
More Americans support protecting unborn babies at 15 weeks than oppose restrictions – including majorities of Democrats, independents, and women.
Meanwhile, President Trump supports the rights of individual states to make that decision for themselves.
On firearms, after saying he had become friends with school shooters, Walz mouthed the usual Democrat talking points to obfuscate the Harris – Walz plans to confiscate your firearms, as we’ve detailed here and here while opposing solutions, such as increasing security by posting police officers at schools.

Fox News: Loved ones of students killed in school shootings slammed Vice President Kamala Harris after unearthed comments from 2019 surfaced this week, detailing that Harris supports removing police officers from schools.
"My brother was killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting because of liberal policies like the one Kamala is pushing here… I wish there had been a police officer there to protect him. Students need more protection, not less!," school safety advocate JT Lewis posted to X. Lewis' younger brother, six-year-old Jesse Lewis, was killed in the 2012 Sandy Hook shooting in Connecticut that left 26 children and staffers dead.
Lewis was reacting to unearthed footage of Harris in 2019, when she was a California senator, declaring her support of removing police officers from schools in an effort to "demilitarize" campuses.
"What we need to do about … demilitarizing our schools and taking police officers out of schools. We need to deal with the reality and speak the truth about the inequities around school discipline. Where in particular, Black and Brown boys are being expelled and or suspended as young as, I've seen, as young as in elementary school," Harris said in 2019 in South Carolina, when she served as a California senator running for president during the 2020 cycle.
In the moderators’ final attempt to help Harris and Walz they put a question to the candidates about accepting the results of the 2020 election, and implied that Donald Trump and J.D. Vance would not accept the results of this year’s election if they lost, and further implied that rejecting the results of a disputed election was a uniquely Republican trait. Team Trump seemed largely pleased with how Senator Vance handled another three on one debate, with the campaign team saying, “Senator Vance spoke the truth, eloquently prosecuted the case against Kamala Harris' failed record, and effectively held Governor Tim Walz accountable for his lies on behalf of the Harris-Biden Administration.
“Senator Vance also perfectly articulated the Trump-Vance vision to make America safe again with their plan to launch the largest mass deportation operation in history; to make America strong again with a peace through strength foreign policy agenda; and to make America wealthy again by cutting taxes, unleashing American energy dominance, and ending inflation.”
Last night, Senator Vance proved why President Trump chose him as his running mate.
