Whose Side Are Harris And Walz On?

Last week Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave what easily the most consequential speech of this year’s United Nations General Assembly.

In what was a week of – at best – speeches of turgid self-promotion by heads of state (see example from Joe Biden here) Netanyahu offered a vision of moral clarity about the threat to Western Civilization presented by Iranian Islam and its current culture of worldwide jihad.

“Our enemies seek not only to destroy us but to destroy our common civilization and return all of us to a dark age of tyranny and terror,” Prime Minister Netanyahu declared:

…Iran’s aggression, if it’s not checked, will endanger every single country in the Middle East, and many, many countries in the rest of the world, because Iran seeks to impose its radicalism well beyond the Middle East.

That’s why it funds terror networks on five continents. That’s why it builds ballistic missiles for nuclear warheads to threaten the entire world. For too long, the world has appeased Iran. It turned a blind eye to its internal repression. It turned a blind eye to its external aggression. Well, that appeasement must end. And that appeasement must end now.

Nations of the world should support the brave people of Iran who want to rid themselves of this evil regime. Responsible governments should not only support Israel in rolling back Iran’s aggression, but they should join Israel. They should join Israel in stopping Iran’s nuclear weapons program.

.

Mr. Netanyahu was right – Iran is the major threat to peace and to the very existence of Western Civilization – unfortunately President Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and the rest of the appeasers and Iranian jihadi sympathizers in the Democratic Party will never admit this plain fact.

And as the Editors of the New York Post noted, Netanyahu promised, “If you strike us, we will strike you. There is no place in Iran that the long arm of Israel cannot reach.” Israel will not permit Iran to hide behind its proxy forces of Hezbollah and Hamas.

Of Hezbollah, he rightly asked: “Imagine if terrorists turned San Diego and El Paso into ghost towns. How long would the American government tolerate that? I doubt they’d tolerate it for a single day.”

For Hamas, he had a stern admonition about the remaining hostages: “Let them go. All of them. Those alive today must be returned alive.”

And for the larger assembly, which is as ever naked in its hostility toward the Jewish state (and Jews), he brought a most unwelcome message from the battlefields.

“We are winning… We will fight until we achieve total victory. There is no substitute for it… Israel will win this battle because we don’t have a choice.”

American voters might think that after 45 years even the densest among our self-appointed elite “foreign policy experts” might come to understand that America and the West more generally don’t have a choice either.

But they don’t seem to get it.

In the past four years, significant funds, nearly $60 billion, have effectively been given to Iran's mullahs by the Biden-Harris administration.

During this same time period Iran has sent hit squads to America to assassinate President Trump and other prominent opponents of the regime.

And as Majid Rafizadeh pointed out in an article for the Gatestone Institute, starting a war against Israel through its proxies Hamas and Hezbollah, closing off the Suez Canal, and firing on US troops in the region more than 150 times just since October was apparently Iran's gracious way of saying thank you.

What’s more, the FBI recently confirmed that information stolen by the Iranian regime agents, through their hacking of Donald Trump's campaign, was disseminated to individuals connected to the Democratic campaign.

In a joint statement cited by Mr. Rafizadeh, the FBI, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency revealed that Iranian agents executed a malicious operation, whereby they "sent unsolicited emails to individuals then associated with President Biden's campaign that contained an excerpt taken from stolen, non-public material from former President Trump's campaign as text in the emails."

Despite having received the data that originated from the Trump campaign, Harris – Walz campaign refrained from acknowledging it until the FBI publicly disclosed the fact on September 18. On September 19, the Harris campaign finally responded, claiming that it had not utilized any materials that Iranian hackers had allegedly collected from Trump's email accounts.

However, it tells you everything you need to know about where Harris and Walz stand in the battle between Iran’s Islamic leadership and the West that they did not once condemn Iran’s interference in our election or indicate any intention to confront Iran about it should they be elected.

Indeed, they did the exact opposite and called for Israel to negotiate with Hezbollah and Hamas, rather than destroy them. With the election a mere 35 days away, it is time for American voters to demand that Harris and Walz explain, with clarity, not their usual word salad, whose side they are on – that of Israel, America and the West or that of a nuclear armed Iran and its goal of a worldwide Islamic state.
