CONSERVATIVES MUST ACT AS A 4TH FORCE –
NOT AS AN APPENDAGE TO THE GOP OR MAGA
CONTINUED #3
I said last week that I would give you examples where Republican political leaders have failed us. Here are just a few:
- Not defunding the left, including Planned Parenthood
- Growing the federal budget and deficit
- Appointment of Establishment people to run the government
- Appointing modern/liberal judges (Sandra Day O’Connor, David Souter, Anthony Kennedy, etc.)
- Failure to effectively fight Democrat policies, programs, and candidates
But under the leadership of President Donald J. Trump, the conservative movement began to play a larger and more effective role in Republican politics.
We had a seat most of the time at the policy tables in his first administration and are now seeing great gains in the second.
Conservatives are thrilled beyond words at Donald Trump’s election as the 47th president of the United States, and his brilliant leadership.
This time around, the vast majority of the conservative movement is on board with Trump.
There will be many occasions when he will need our help, support — and our involvement.
However, there will also be times where conservatives will have principled disagreements with President Trump and his administration. On such occasions we movement conservatives need to be effective in our principled opposition. Some of the examples where we disagree with President Trump/MAGA are:

- Picking economic winners and losers through tariffs, subsidies and regulation
- Spending, especially for failing to use the Big Beautiful Bill to roll back the vast post-COVID expansion of the federal budget
- The annual deficit, increasing the debt ceiling without a debt payoff plan
- Foreign policy
- Opposing conservatives in primaries who oppose President Trump on spending or other conservative principles
Because of these issues and others, we’ll need significant resources to be a strong force to reckon with, to push America to the right.
Remember the left is led by many brilliant, top-of-their game, world-class leaders (including John Podesta, Eric Holder, Marc Elias, James Carville, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, etc., etc.) with massive resources focused on pulling the public, major institutions, Republican politicians, and even President Trump to the left.
Conservatives unfortunately lack even one national conservative that’s as effective as these national Democrat leaders. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich used to provide that leadership for conservatives, but he has left the national playing field.
We will need dozens of our own major, world-class leaders who have the support of large, major organizations.
But to help lead America to preserve, protect, and pass on the blessings of liberty and freedom under God’s laws, the Conservative Movement will have to be far more effectively led with vastly larger and stronger organizations.
Unfortunately, today the Conservative Movement is seen (perhaps accurately) by many as a paper tiger. I’ll wrap up next week with how conservatives can recover and move forward.
