60 Second Activist: Tell Congress To Pass Federal School Choice Tax Credit In Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill

In just the last three years, 17 states have adopted universal or near-universal private school scholarship programs. But there are many Democratic strongholds left out - at least until now.

Now, Trump is giving choice a bigger boost. The Big Beautiful Bill creates a new tax credit (up to 10% of AGI) for charitable contributions to tax-exempt organizations that provide scholarships to elementary and secondary school students. The program is capped at $5 billion per year for four years.

We congratulate Rep. Adrian Smith of Nebraska, the lead sponsor of this idea, and Chairman Jason Smith of Missouri for including this program in the bill.

However, Democrats, at the behest of the Far-Left teachers union allies, have vowed to kill the bill – that’s where you come in. By clicking this link in less than 60-seconds you can let your Member of Congress know you demand a federal-level policy to allow any parent who wants to opt their child out of public school should have the opportunity to do so.

The Educational Choice for Children Act (ECCA) is a federal tax credit scholarship bill that would help over a million students access a school or education service of their parents’ choice. Scholarships are funded with private donations, not federal money, and donors receive a federal tax credit. Students could use scholarships for tuition, tutoring to address learning loss, special needs services, or education technology.

The ECCA has widespread support:

  • During his campaign and following his re-election, President Trump has made his support for school choice clear. Recently he stated in a post “I’ve made School Choice a priority of my Administration. We need School Choice passed in every State!” And when asked on Fox and Friends whether he would support the proposed ECCA, President-elect Trump said, “I would sign it.”
  • More than 74 percent of voters of Americans strongly support school choice for all students.
  • 72 percent of Hispanic voters favor the ECCA

“This legislation is an historic step for Congress to expand school choice in every state and fulfill President Trump’s pledge of universal school choice. The ECCA will empower parents and provide students with the opportunities they deserve regardless of their zip code,” said Anthony J. de Nicola, Chairman of the Board of Invest in Education Coalition. “Thank you, Chairman Jason Smith (R-MO), Rep. Adrian Smith (R-NE), and members of the Ways and Means Committee for your leadership on the ECCA. We urge the Ways & Means Committee to pass this critically important bill to help America’s K-12 parents and students.”
