Yesterday, in a disgusting betrayal of every law-abiding citizen, Chicago’s Democrat Mayor Brandon Johnson declared city spaces as “ICE-free zones.” Johnson’s order shielding the most depraved, violent criminal illegal aliens from justice is a dangerous intensification of Democrats’ lunatic “sanctuary” agenda where criminal illegals come before American citizens.

and

More than 900 people have been arrested so far during Operation Midway Blitz since its launch on Sept. 8, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
Johnson’s pathetic excuse that enforcing our nation’s immigration laws somehow “undermines community trust” exposes his true loyalty: to criminal illegal alien predators, not the terrified families of Chicago.
However, as ridiculous as Johnson’s declaration of insurrection sounds, it has real “on the street” consequences for federal law enforcement in Chicago.
The order purports to cover schools, libraries, parks, and other city-owned spaces, and allows private establishments to voluntarily participate in a citywide network that protects residents from ICE operations without a valid warrant.
Each city property will have signage stating the following: "This property is owned and/or controlled by the City of Chicago. It may not be used for civil immigration enforcement, including as a: Staging area, processing location or operations base."
"The order builds a broad civic shield that limits the reach of harmful enforcement practices," Johnson claimed. It strengthens neighborhood solidarity and it reaffirms Chicago's role as a welcoming city. The fact is, we cannot allow them to rampage throughout our city with no checks or balances. Nobody is above the law. If we break the law, you should be held accountable. If Congress will not check this administration, then Chicago will."
Chicago’s insurrectionist mayor further stated the city “will continue to monitor federal operations and may take further steps if ICE escalates its enforcement activities.”
The mayor’s outrageous actions have already incited Chicago’s illegal alien criminal network to launch attacks on ICE agents.
On Saturday morning, federal agents were rammed and trapped by 10 vehicles, where anti-ICE crowds had gathered for days. Nearly a dozen people were arrested.
An internal dispatch revealed that Chicago police officers were ordered by their chief of patrol not to respond after Border Patrol agents called for help, saying they were boxed in and surrounded following a ramming incident.
Fox News reviewed the computer-aided dispatch message sent to Chicago police officers by their chief of patrol. The message instructed officers not to respond to a Saturday morning ramming on the southwest side of the city in which an armed woman was shot and agents were boxed in and surrounded.
"PLEASE CHIEF OF PATROL NO UNITS WILL RESPOND TO THIS AS RELATED FROM 04-Oc5-2025/12:34:44…CALLER IS 1 OF APPROX 30 ARMED PATROL AGENTS (ICE) WHO ARE BEING SURROUNDED BY A LARGE CROWD OF PEOPLE REQUESTING CPD," the dispatch message read.
One of the drivers accused of ramming into the law enforcement vehicle was armed with a semi-automatic weapon, according to DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin, who also said officers were unable to move and "were forced to deploy their weapons and fire defensive shots at an armed U.S. citizen."
The armed woman, a U.S. citizen identified as Marimar Martinez, was named in a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) intelligence bulletin, DHS wrote in a statement. She allegedly doxxed agents and posted online, "Hey to all my gang let’s f--- those motherf------ up, don’t let them take anyone."
McLaughlin said no law enforcement officers were seriously injured during the incident, adding that the woman involved drove herself to the hospital to get care for wounds.
The driver of another vehicle, identified by DHS as Anthony Ian Santos Ruiz, was allegedly involved in the ramming and has been apprehended by law enforcement.
"Trying to intimidate law enforcement will not slow us down," FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino wrote in a statement on social media. "The mission will not stop."
