The Maine Democratic Party’s Far Left Senate nominee, Graham Platner, is widely assumed to be off the ballot soon, after a new allegation against him of breaking and entering and sexual assault while intoxicated surfaced.
In a bombshell Politico report detailing the rape allegation, Jenny Racicot, who previously dated the scandal-plagued candidate, alleged he barged into her home in 2021 and forced her to have unprotected sex.
She also went on CNN Monday evening shortly after the report was published to tell host Jake Tapper that "by dictionary definition" Platner "raped" her.
"I thought, here's a man who was drunk and who, by dictionary definition, raped me. And he's blaming drunk women," Racicot said. "So, I just felt like that was a very odd take to have on that. And I also feel like with all of the comments that he made about women, sexual assault, rape, even, um, you know, the comments that he had made that was in The New York Times article about, you know, threatening people with rape, like, why does this person have this issue, like scattered throughout their life, throughout their commentary, like it’s on their mind?"
The New York Times already reported June 4 that several former girlfriends accused him of behavior described as “toxic” and “violent.” Platner, who said he and his wife worked through the texting scandal and has met privately with Senate Democrats in the wake of the controversies, denied “anything alleging physicality” with his ex-girlfriends in an interview with MSNOW.
Platner has also been forced to apologize after his old Reddit posts resurfaced in which he made a series of inflammatory comments about rape, race, political violence, police, rural Americans and military veterans.
There’s a lot to unpack in Graham Platner’s rise as a star of the Democratic Party’s new Democratic Socialist majority, and his precipitous fall from grace over issues that were there all along, but have suddenly loomed large as Platner’s poll numbers have tanked and he no longer looked like a sure winner against Republican Susan Collins.
However, our concern about Platner is more subtle than those of the Far-Left Democrats, like California’s Rep. Ro Khanna, who fueled Platner’s rise and excused Platner’s previously documented abuse of women.
In his last-minute pre-Election Day blitz Platner threatened to throw billionaires in jail, "We need to get money out of politics. We need to get rid of Citizens United. And, if I had my way, elections would last two months, they will be publicly funded and if a billionaire looked at a TV ad the wrong way, we'd put 'em in jail," Platner told a crowd of constituents a day before winning the Democratic Party’s Senate nomination.
Part of Platner’s cache with the Left is based on his regular threats of violence against those who disagree with him, particularly Republicans and those who are economically successful.
And Platner, as a combat veteran, has experience dealing out violence that he has readily shared with other angry Leftists.

Pictures from an official Socialist Rifle Association (SRA) social media account that appeared to show Platner serving as a range officer for the group’s training sessions.
Two accounts — both from self-described left-wingers — have surfaced that confirm Platner’s top role in the Maine chapter of the Socialist Rifle Association.
Posting under the Reddit handle “P-Hustle,” he wrote in August 2020 that his chapter ran “lots of range days, firearms education classes,” that he’d “just put on a defensive handgun course two weekends ago,” and that the group ran monthly introductory courses plus “more advanced classes for experienced members.” In a separate post, he recruited a Mainer to the chapter directly: “We’re quite active.”
Setting aside the hypocrisy of Democrats who, under the guise of hobbling an imagined right-wing militia, led a 2024 campaign to ban the type of training Platner provided to socialists and communists, Platner’s behavior toward women is a tell about what he would do if he achieved any kind of real political power.
Platner’s behavior toward women stems from a deep sense of entitlement – that he can do anything to anybody – and get away with it. Now, imagine Platner at the head of an armed group of communists and socialists bent on enforcing their will on you.
It doesn’t take much imagination to conclude that the rape of Jenny Racicot is a harbinger of what Graham Platner and his allies would do to the rest of us, whether we consent or not.
