Marjorie alerted us and other supporters that the Satanic Temple (TST) just opened a third abortion facility. Yes, you read that correctly. The Satanic Temple is proudly performing “Satanic Abortion Rituals” (their term) as a part of their so-called religious practice.
And they are using mail-order abortion pills as their primary weapon against the unborn.
TST is an IRS-recognized religion that denies the authority of God and describes its mission using seemingly benevolent and unassuming terms. The Satanists claim to have two abortion clinics in Virginia, killing babies in that state and surrounding region. They also have a New Mexico clinic. As part of their ‘religious ritual’ abortions are free of charge, with those wishing to kill a baby for Satan only needing to cover the cost of medication through a third party, at a very low price boast the Satanists.
Over the past several years, TST has filed lawsuits in multiple states, including Texas, Indiana, and Idaho, directly challenging those state laws that restrict abortion. TST alleges that abortion restrictions in certain states interfere with the ability to obtain a medication abortion and argues that abortion is a protected religious right, observed Katherine Drabiak in an article for Harvard’s Petrie-Flom Center.
No court has yet ruled on the merits of TST’s legal arguments.
However, according to Ms. Drabiak’s research, about half of states have Religious Freedom Restoration laws, which are designed to carve out exceptions or provide a defense where a law conflicts with a person’s sincerely held religious belief.
While that does not guarantee recognition of the Satanist’s claims, by classifying the act of performing an abortion itself as a Satanic ritual – a rite of destruction that is required by the tenets of the belief system. TST’s website describes “the Satanic Abortion Ritual,” refers to the Satanic tenets that it supports, and provides directions for how to complete the ritual. This includes taking the prescriptions, looking into one’s reflection, and invoking a specific Satanic affirmation, their clever lawyers have been working diligently to make what is in essence child sacrifice legal.
