A former senior official at the Southern Poverty Law Center was charged on Wednesday with fraud and conspiracy as part of a revised indictment alleging the so-called civil rights group was cheating its donors by using their money to pay racists and promote the very type of extremism that it was purporting to work against.
The former official, Heidi Beirich, once ran the center’s informant program, which placed operatives within groups like the Ku Klux Klan. Prosecutors say that while Ms. Beirich was overseeing payments to the informants, she was in a romantic relationship with one of them and the two shared a house and bank accounts where some of the money ended up.
Most of the charges against Ms. Beirich were contained in an earlier version of the indictment, but nonetheless signaled an escalation of the Justice Department’s prosecution of the law center, which is best known for investigating white supremacist groups. It was the first time anybody connected with the law center — not just the organization — had been formally indicted, reported the New York Times.
In the previous version of the indictment, Ms. Beirich had been identified as an unnamed employee of the law center. Prosecutors said she had been in a relationship with an informant who infiltrated a neo-Nazi organization, the National Alliance, and was paid more than $1 million over two decades. Between 2015 and 2021, prosecutors said, about $140,000 of that money ended up in the joint accounts she shared with the informant, known in the indictment only as F-9, according to a New York Times report.
Attorney General Todd Blanche addressed the charges against her at a news conference on Wednesday in Washington.
“I believe she was part of the effort to open bank accounts in completely fictitious companies’ names and make payments to individuals for reasons that were not accurate as described,” he said.
So, let this sink in: Heidi Beirich, the former "Intelligence Chief" of the SPLC paid her neo-Nazi boyfriend to be a neo-Nazi from donations to the organization that said it was fighting neo-Nazis.
But the establishment media, which for years has relied on the SPLC’s “Hate Map” and other reckless statements tarring political and social conservatives as “hate groups,” is doing its best to cover for the lying fraudsters.
As our friend, retired Col. John Mills, noted in a post to his must-read substack, NBC goes back to its fake news roots and calls Heidi Beirich an “Extremist expert”, where she was really funding and creating the “extremism” she was supposedly fighting.
Other media and bios called Heidi the “Intelligence Chief” of the SPLC, neglecting to point out Heidi was paying her boyfriend and many others to be part of extremist groups.
The result, Col. Mills noted, was the Charlottesville White Nationalist gathering has now been shown to be a false flag event funded by the SPLC.
Many people, including some of our friends, were targeted by the SPLC. As a result, some lost jobs, careers, and opportunities because of this dishonest blacklisting. Now, it turns out the SPLC was not paying “informants,” they were creating the story, but after relying on the SPLC to justify the destruction of conservatives, the establishment media won’t tell you it was all a lie and a grift to enrich a fat girl and her boytoy.
