The lawlessness in Minneapolis has officially crossed the line from federal felony into outright insurrection as new footage emerges of rioters breaking into locked ICE vehicle safes to steal their guns and ammunition.
In a video posted last night by citizen journalist Nick Sorter, rioters are caught on video looting an ICE vehicle and stealing equipment and documents, including the agent’s service rifle.
The insurrectionists tied a rope to the weapons locker in the agent’s vehicle and ripped it out with a pickup truck, as Minneapolis PD refused to respond.
The Minneapolis insurrectionists also stole sensitive documents, including arrest warrants and agent information from the DHS and FBI vehicles they broke into.
This isn't just a parking ticket – throughout history stealing weapons is a first step in revolutions, and even without invoking the Insurrection Act it is a serious federal crime:
Under 18 U.S.C. § 641, the theft of government property valued over $1,000 is a felony punishable by up to 10 years in federal prison.
Stealing a firearm is its own category of federal offense under 18 U.S.C. § 924, which also carries a sentence of up to 10 years in a federal facility.
If these stolen weapons are used or even possessed during the commission of another federal crime or a crime of violence, mandatory minimum sentences of 5 to 10 years are added on top of the primary charges.
These aren’t protesters. The First Amendment doesn’t apply here. These are Leftwing terrorists stealing weapons.
These well-organized Far Left Democrats have far surpassed anything considered peacefully protesting. With each riot, each passing day, the agenda is clear; use any means necessary to stymie federal authority and take out their ideological enemies, including ICE agents, independent journalists, and Trump supporters.
Federal investigators are already using high-definition livestreams and intercepted footage to identify these thugs and their vehicles. We demand the government apply the same vigor to apprehending these insurrectionists that it used to apprehend the January 6 protestors. We hope the knock on the door is coming, and these individuals are trading a few moments of viral internet fame for a decade or more in a federal cell.
