Today Is Election Day and It’s A Binary Choice

Today is Election Day, and for the past however many days, weeks and months Republican and conservative voters have been subjected to a relentless demoralization campaign designed to convince them that it is inevitable that Republicans will lose their congressional majorities and that President Trump’s many successful policies are the cause of this allegedly unstoppable “blue wave.”

One of the most broadly used weapons used in this information warfare campaign is the purported Democrat lead in the “generic ballot” poll that pits an imaginary Democrat against an imaginary Republican to arrive at an imaginary election result.

Other than as an easily manipulated gauge of general public sentiment, the generic ballot question is completely meaningless because there is no national election for Members of Congress – it’s 435 individual elections for Members of the House of Representatives and 100 individual elections for the Senate, of which 35 are on the ballot this year.

This means when you walk into the polling place you are not voting for the imaginary perfect Democrat or Republican. You only have a binary choice between the real live Republican and the real live Democrat running to represent your district, and the policies they will favor if elected.

So, in the Texas Senate campaign you only have the binary choice between Republican Ken Paxton – arguably the best Attorney General in America – and Far Left Democrat James Talarico.

Talarico’s comments to the effect that "God is non-binary" and Jesus Christ is a "radical feminist" and that modern science claims there are "six biological sexes" are reason enough to vote for Ken Paxton, but those out-of-the-mainstream religious and cultural positions have real policy implications.

So, you may disapprove of Ken Paxton’s split from his wife, and even be indifferent to Talarico’s aberrant theology, but do you want a return to the Democrats’ open borders policy, a repeal of no tax on tips and Social Security, the shutdown of the American energy industry, boys and men in girls’ sports and locker rooms, the loss of parental rights regarding transgender healthcare and abortion up until the moment of birth, and the massive tax increases necessary to fund Medicare for all?

Because that’s the binary choice you have – James Talarico is for those policies and Ken Paxton opposes them.

And to the extent there’s any reality behind the concept of the “generic ballot” there’s the same dynamic in Michigan and other Senate races.

You may be indifferent to Abdul El-Sayed’s long association with the Muslim Brotherhood and other Muslim terrorist-affiliated groups, but are you indifferent to the policies he plans to support if elected?

Are you ready to pay the $40+ trillion in new taxes to fund his universal Medicare plan, and be forced to give up your private insurance under penalty of law? Are you ready for a ban on gas-powered vehicles that will destroy Michigan’s auto-manufacturing base, and the rest of the Green New Deal?

Because that, and abortion up to the moment of birth, transgender ideology, boys and men in girls’ sports and locker rooms, and open borders and amnesty for illegal aliens are what you get if you elect Abdul El-Sayed to the United States Senate.

It’s a binary choice – Republican Mike Rogers opposes those policies, Abdul El-Sayed will support them.

Maybe you’re not a fan of dynastic politics and question the process by which Darline Graham was appointed to represent South Carolina in the United States Senate after her brother Lindsey Graham’s sudden death.

What you get with Darline Graham is the continuation of the conservative policies that have been the hallmark of South Carolina’s Republican Party politics since Ronald Reagan. What you get with Democrat Annie Andrews is the whole Far Left Bernie Sanders – AOC agenda, with special emphasis on transgender mutilation of children and abortion up to the moment of birth.

Again, it’s a binary choice between the two candidates on the ballot in South Carolina and their worldview and ideology, not a choice between two imaginary perfect candidates, selected through an imaginary perfect process.

It’s the same binary choice in Maine between Republican Susan Collins and Far Left Democrat Troy Jackson.

Maybe you are indifferent to the fact that Troy Jackson fathered two children by and lives with his cousin and that he has a well-documented anger management problem, particularly with regards to women.

But the binary choice is between Senator Susan Collins’s free market Republican policies and the Far-Left Bernie Sanders-AOC agenda espoused by Jackson; Medicare for All, free college and daycare and school meals, paid for with massive new taxes and an end to private health insurance, banning fossil fuels and the rest of the Green New Deal, and of course transgender ideology and abortion up to the moment of birth.

We could go on through all 35 Senate races, but you get the picture, there’s no generic ballot, it is a binary choice between an individual Democrat and an individual Republican and the policies they will vote for if elected.

The Democrat choice is for a candidate who favors abortion up to the moment of birth, transgender ideology, boys and men in girls’ sports and locker rooms, open borders and amnesty for illegal aliens, universal Medicare, with private health insurance outlawed, the Green New Deal ending fossil fuels and gas-powered cars, and increasing your taxes, including reinstituting the tax on tips and Social Security, to pay for it all.

The Republican choice is for a candidate who will fight for you to keep your money and your freedom and the sovereignty of your country.

It’s a binary choice. Do not fail to make that choice – make a plan to vote and cast your vote like your life, your freedom and our country’s sovereignty depend on it, because they do.
