Principled limited government constitutional conservative Rep. Randy Fine (FL-6) has recently introduced the No Sharia Act, which would ensure that no U.S. court, public agency, or legal institution can ever enforce or legitimize Sharia law.
“You don’t get to come to this country and demand that our legal system accommodate your oppressive laws” said Congressman Fine when announcing the bill’s introduction.
Fine, a first-term Republican representing Florida’s 6th Congressional District, maintains that code is an affront to Western civilization itself, reported A.G. Gancarski of Florida Politics.
“Let me be crystal clear: Sharia law has no place in the United States of America,” Fine said. “We cannot and will not allow for foreign values to overtake our country’s legal system. We’ve seen what has happened in the UK and across Europe with the spread of Sharia, and it is not an exaggeration to say it is coming here next. Well, we are not going to let that happen.”
Rep. Fine said that Sharia “practices undercut the American values of freedom and undermine the idea of assimilation into American culture, which has been the bedrock for immigrants’ success in this country.”
Furthermore, Sharia law “strips away the rights of women, children, and religious minorities that are central to the American way of life.”
“If you think an adolescent girl in a wedding dress next to a 50-year-old man is ‘cultural,’ you’ve lost your soul. This is America,” Fine said.
“We don’t stone women for speaking. We don’t hang people in the streets for the world to watch and celebrate. We don’t force little girls into marriage or mutilate their genitals in the name of religion. This is not and will never be our America, and the fact that we even have to consider passing a preemptive bill to protect our families and communities from it is disturbing, but this is the world we live in today.”
U.S. Rep. Keith Self of Texas co-introduced the bill, and U.S. Rep. Chip Roy of Texas is among the cosponsors.
Rep. Fine also introduced a bill to designate the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) as a foreign terrorist organization. The legislation directs the Department of State to investigate assigning the designation.
This takes long-overdue action to confront the terrorist threat posed by CAIR, a Trojan horse for terrorism operating inside our own borders. CAIR was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation’s trial regarding their support for Muslim terrorism and their founders’ role in funneling over $12 million to Hamas. This was the largest terrorism financing trial in American history. CAIR still maintains a direct relationship with Hamas, the barbaric terrorist organization that slaughtered over 1,200 people, including over 40 Americans, on October 7th.
“Enough is Enough. For far too long, groups like CAIR have operated in our country and on our college campuses, promoting violent radical ideologies and defending the indefensible. CAIR has no place in American society. This is a group that celebrated the massacre on October 7th, saying it made them ‘happy'. I was proud to lead Florida in designating CAIR as a terrorist front, and I will be 'happy' when Congress does the same.” said Congressman Fine.
Last year, Congressman Fine passed a similar bill in Florida, H.R. 1209, that ordered all executive agencies of the State of Florida, law enforcement agencies, and local governments to suspend their relationship with CAIR.
