President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s bizarre behavior at Friday’s Oval Office meeting where he was invited to sign a mineral development deal with the United States blew-up the meeting in spectacular fashion.
Even though the Ukrainian parliament – the Rada – had approved the mineral development deal, Zelenskyy left without the agreement that would have cemented continued American support for his war effort and the redevelopment of his war shattered country.

An increasingly aggressive Zelenskyy appeared to finally lose it when Vice President Vance spoke up to criticize former President Joe Biden and laud Trump for seeking a diplomatic solution to the war.
Zelenskyy — a critic of direct talks between Washington and Moscow — responded with his view that Russia was untrustworthy and then challenged Vance.
“What kind of diplomacy, JD, you are speaking about?” he said. “What do you mean?”
“I’m talking about the kind of diplomacy that’s going to end the destruction of your country,” Vance responded before tearing into the Ukrainian leader. “Mr. President, with respect, I think it’s disrespectful for you to come into the Oval Office to try to litigate this in front of the American media.”
The low point of Zelenskyy’s unhinged behavior was when he called Vice President J.D. Vance “JD” instead of Mr. Vice President and then followed that slight up by calling him a bitch – сука – suka in Russian and Ukrainian.
Vice President Vance wasn’t the only one involved in the talks leading up to the Oval Office meeting to hold the view that maybe Zelenskyy didn’t want peace.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio explained “You start to perceive that maybe Zelenskyy doesn’t want a peace deal, he says he does but maybe he doesn’t. And that active, open undermining of efforts to bring about peace is deeply frustrating for everyone that’s been involved in communications with them leading to today.”
“The goal here is we have to explore whether peace is possible,” Rubio added. “I don’t know, I think it is but we have to explore that. How else is this war going to end?”
As we explained in our article “Is Ukraine Deal Trump Four-D Chess?” the minerals deal would put the American – Ukraine relationship in a whole new light.
Ukraine would no longer be an obscure country in the heart of Eastern Europe, it would be one of America’s primary sources of the materials upon which the 21st century economy will be based. But that calculation only works if there is peace in the region that makes exploitation of those resources possible.
Even more importantly to Ukraine, such an agreement would give the United States a clear national interest in maintaining an independent partner in the exploitation of those resources and provide Ukraine the funds with which to rebuild their economy and national infrastructure. And that partnership might just be Ukraine’s best security guarantee against further Russian aggression.
So, who might encourage Zelenskyy to blow-up such a deal after Ukraine’s Rada had already approved it?
Rumor has it that Zelenskyy’s patrons in the Obama – Biden foreign policy orbit, such as Anthony Blinken, Victoria Nuland, Susan Rice, and Alexander Vindman advised Zelenskyy to stand up to Trump and demand a written security guarantee – something that neither Obama nor Biden was willing to give him.
It seems strange that the team that offered Zelenskyy a ride out of town when the Russians invaded now want him to fight to the last drop of Ukrainian blood and the last dollar in the U.S. Treasury, who benefits from that?
Whether the Obama-Biden foreign policy cabal actively encouraged Zelenskyy to blow up the meeting with Trump should be easy for the NSA to figure out now that they are not spending all their time promoting transgender ideology. Wherever the motivation to blow up the deal came from one thing is clear, Trump wanted to make a deal, and Zelenskyy wanted to make a scene, * and what happens next is on him.
