Today’s Secure Freedom Minute with Frank Gaffney: In one of history’s most insidious and impactful acts of information warfare, Soviet Communist influence operatives successfully defeated Senator Joseph McCarthy’s efforts to expose their penetration of the U.S. government.
Even though McCarthy was correct, his name was made synonymous with false allegations of imagined internal threats –creating a societal norm that there are no actual enemies within and anyone who says otherwise is beyond the pale.
