The leaders of conservative organizations that are part of the Conservative Action Project have issued the following statement in support of President Donald Trump’s Executive
Order on election integrity. The statement further emphasizes the need for vigorous enforcement of the provisions of the Executive Order, especially in the off-year elections in the states of Virginia and New Jersey, where questions about the integrity of the voter rolls and counts have marred previous elections.
The statement and list of signers follows:
Conservatives applaud President Donald Trump for his recent executive order focused on protecting the integrity of American elections. Election integrity was a key focus for President Trump during the 2024 presidential campaign, and we are delighted to see him keep this crucial campaign promise.
While the Order makes several needed reforms, one of the most important is the requirement to add documentary, government-issued proof of U.S. citizenship on the voter registration form issued by the Election Assistance Commission. Giving Americans confidence that only U.S. citizens are allowed to register and vote in our elections is vital to the nation’s sovereignty.
We additionally applaud the President’s directive that the states and federal agencies comply with federal law governing the accuracy of the voter rolls. The Order enforces what is already federal law: that the nation’s voter rolls are to be verified and maintained to ensure that noncitizens and other ineligible registrations are removed. The nation’s voter rolls are filled with invalid registrations, and we are grateful the administration is going to take steps to promptly and aggressively utilize the data available in federal agencies, as identified in the Order, to compare to the voter rolls of every state and verify eligibility of every registration. This must be completed before the 2026 elections.
Because of the important elections in Virginia and New Jersey in 2025, we urge an expedited review of those states’ voter rolls. It is vital that noncitizens are removed from every states’ voter rolls as quickly as possible so that ballots are issued only to individuals who are citizens, legally eligible to register and vote.
There are few areas more fundamental to restoring faith in our government than making elections secure, accurate, and reliable. President Trump is keeping his promises to restore the integrity of our elections and we applaud the Order as a giant step forward in accomplishing that goal.
