Rededicate 250, National Day of Prayer in D.C., this Sunday, May 17th

Our friend Kelly Kullberg, General Secretary of the American Association of Evangelicals, sent us a reminder that this coming Sunday, May 17, 2026, is the exact 250th anniversary of when the Second Continental Congress held a day of prayer and fasting just weeks before declaring independence on July 4th.

And AAF is hosting Rededicate 250: A National Day of Prayer, Praise, & Thanksgiving on the National Mall in Washington, DC to commemorate that historic day, and to rededicate America as One Nation Under God.

At Rededicate 250, Americans will come together to remember God’s hand in the story of our nation and to worship, pray, and join in fellowship.

Special guests include A Message from President Donald J. Trump – God’s Hand in the Founding of a Nation, Speaker Mike Johnson, Secretary Pete Hegseth, Franklin Graham, Chris Tomlin, Jonathan Roumie, Bishop Robert Barron, Eric Metaxas, Dr. Ben Carson, Sen. Tim Scott, and Blessing Offor—as well as dozens of faith leaders and Christian performers (see the list below).

This event is family friendly—there will be food trucks, a Freedom Truck Mobile Museum, a playground, and restrooms. You can bring picnic blankets and spread out on the lawn.
