Reps Keith Self and Chip Roy: Sharia Free America Caucus Growing

In December 2025 U.S. Representatives Keith Self (TX-03) and Chip Roy (TX-21) officially launched the Sharia Free America Caucus in the House of Representatives, an effort to counter the alarming rise of Sharia in the United States. Sharia is a dominating force that is not compatible with the U.S. Constitution. The formation of the Caucus has earned the support of U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville—the leading voice in the Senate against Sharia.

“The American way of life is under siege by radicals from a culture waging war against our Constitution and Western values. We’ve seen what happens when nations allow this infiltration: countries like France and England are on the verge of losing their identity and sovereignty. The same forces are at play here in America today, and if we don’t stop them, they will conquer our country too,” said Congressman Keith Self. “I am proud to co-chair the Sharia Free America Caucus with Congressman Chip Roy to defend our Constitution, preserve our freedoms, and make America a Sharia-free nation—once and for all.”

“America is facing a threat that directly attacks our Constitution and our Western values: the spread of Sharia law. From Texas to every state in this constitutional republic, instances of Sharia adherents masquerading as 'refugees'—and in many cases, sleeper cells connected to terrorist organizations—are threatening the American way of life. Those who succumb to this political ideology seek to replace our legal system and Constitution. Under Sharia law, there is no freedom of speech, religion, or women's rights. Europe should be a wake-up call to America, showing what the spread of Sharia law looks like. America's immigration system must brace to take on this battle, not only to preserve our constitutional republic but to take charge in the spiritual warfare and defend our Judeo-Christian values. I am proud to co-chair this caucus with Keith Self, as it is important that our colleagues know the state of play; the preservation of America, Western civilization, and its people depend on it,” said Congressman Chip Roy.

“For months, I’ve been warning about the growing threat of Islam in the United States. Islam isn’t a religion, it’s a death cult. Sharia Law teaches that it is righteous to kill all infidels, and especially Christians. Unfortunately, 15 innocent people were murdered by Radical Islamists in Australia this weekend. If we don’t wake up, these types of terrorist attacks will become commonplace. I’m glad that some of my Republican colleagues in the House have a backbone and are joining me in the fight against this anti-American ideology,” said Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL).

Now, the Caucus has grown to twenty-six members from seventeen different states, highlighting the importance of this issue to the American people and those they select to represent them.

Members of the Sharia Free America Caucus include: Majority Whip Tom Emmer (MN-06) and Reps. Keith Self (TX-03), Chip Roy (TX-21), Brandon Gill (TX-26), Michael Cloud (TX-27), Mary Miller (IL-15), Andy Biggs (AZ-05), Eli Crane (AZ-02), Byron Donalds (FL-19), Scott Perry (PA-10), Randy Fine (FL-06), Andy Ogles (TN-05), Eric Burlison (MO-07), Josh Brecheen (OK-02), Sheri Biggs (SC-03), Ralph Norman (SC-05), Barry Moore (AL-01), Tracey Mann (KS-01), Russ Fulcher (ID-01), Mike Kelly (PA-16), Mike Kennedy (UT-03), Andrew Clyde (GA-09), Mark Harris (NC-08), Nick Begich (AK-at large), Cory Mills (FL-07), and Mike Haridopolos (FL-08).

“Sharia is completely incompatible with the American way of life and threatens the very fabric of our society. It is radical, oppressive, and must never be allowed to gain a foothold in America. I’m thankful to Congressmen Roy and Self for leading this noble charge in the House and looking forward to working together to combat this danger,” said Whip Emmer.

“Sharia Law is utterly barbaric and has no place in America whatsoever. My constituents in Texas are constantly expressing their concern and asking what can be done about the rise of mass Islamic immigration in north Texas, including developments like the East Plano Islamic Community. If people come to America in search of a better life, they need to be prepared to assimilate to our culture, not impose third world ideals into our society. I am proud to join the Sharia Free America Caucus led by my Texas colleagues Reps. Keith Self and Chip Roy,” said Congressman Gill.

“Our nation’s strength lies in upholding the Constitution as the supreme law of the land. The rise of Sharia law is an assault on our Constitution, our freedoms, and the Christian foundations of our nation. We cannot allow this oppressive ideology to take root in America. We cannot become like Europe and stand idly by while the bastions of liberty are eroded away, community by community. We will continue to work to protect our borders, ensure that newcomers respect and integrate into American values, and safeguard the liberties that make our country the greatest on earth,” said Congressman Cloud.

“I’m proud to join the Sharia Free America Caucus and stand firmly against this radical ideology that seeks to uproot the constitutional principles and Christian values on which our nation was founded. I applaud Representatives Roy and Self for taking leadership and confronting this serious issue facing our country,” said Congresswoman Miller.

“Sharia Law has no place in America and cannot subsume our Constitution and local laws. Its radical ideology is antithetical to our Judeo-Christian values and to the freedoms our great Republic was founded on. I am grateful to Reps. Self and Roy for founding the Sharia Free America Caucus, and I look forward to the work we will do to stop radical Islam in its tracks,” said Congressman Biggs.

“I’m proud to join these patriots as a member of the Sharia Free America Caucus. As someone who fought in the Middle East, I know firsthand that this authoritarian ideology cannot coexist with Western values. It’s imperative that we learn from Europe’s failed policies and never surrender to this growing threat. As a Caucus, we are committed to defending our nation, as well as preserving the liberties and freedoms we cherish,” said Congressman Crane.

“Sharia has no place in America. We will not surrender our freedoms. I’m proud to stand alongside these America First patriots as a member of the Sharia Free America Caucus,” said Congressman Donalds.

“I’m proud to stand with so many colleagues sharing the mission and convictions that sparked the founding of the House ‘Sharia Free America’ Caucus. From Dearborn to ‘EPIC City,’ Sharia law is sweeping across America – and must be stopped. Our Constitution protects the God-given right to freedom of religion and expression; but too many policymakers and community leaders are willing to sell out our liberties and safety by bowing to the intolerant and oppressive ideology of militant and radical Islam. We welcome oppressed people from around the globe to enhance and participate in the self governance model that is America; we did not, however, invite them to leave their theological oppression abroad to come and conquer America under the flag of violent submission and oppression that is Sharia law,” said Congressman Perry.

“Islam is a religion of violence, abuse of women, and ruthless political conquest. Its laws and practices have no place in American society. That’s why I joined the Sharia Free American Caucus. Islam is conquering Europe, and I refuse to let it conquer America,” said Congressman Ogles.

“America First means one country, one Constitution, and one legal system. I’m proud to stand with Reps. Keith Self and Chip Roy to make clear that no foreign or religious legal code has any place above American law,” said Congressman Burlison.

“As Sharia law sympathizers grow increasingly emboldened within America, I urge local, state, and federal lawmakers to resist efforts to establish Sharia law in American jurisdictions. Those who do not assimilate to the American way of life should not be allowed into our country. I am grateful to Representatives Keith Self and Chip Roy for founding the Sharia Free America Caucus and look forward to working with the Caucus to promote the Western legal tradition and defend the American way of life,” said Congressman Brecheen.

“America is strongest when we stand united behind the Constitution and the rule of law. I’m proud to join the Sharia Free America Caucus to protect our nation’s core values, uphold freedom, and ensure that no foreign legal system undermines the liberties guaranteed to every American,” said Congressman Norman.

“The Constitution is the supreme law of the land, and it must never be undermined by outside ideologies that are incompatible with American liberty. I’m honored to join the Sharia Free America Caucus and stand alongside my colleagues to defend our sovereignty and ensure that our nation’s legal system remains firmly rooted in the freedoms and principles that define the United States. Protecting constitutional governance is essential to preserving the security and liberty of the American people,” said Congressman Moore.

“Parts of our country are learning just how devastating Sharia Law can be to our citizens and our way of life. I am proud to join the Sharia-Free America Caucus as an original Member. The U.S. Constitution is—and must remain—our sole legal framework. Sharia Law is incompatible with the foundational principles of our nation and has no place in Idaho or anywhere in America,” said Congressman Fulcher.

“America is built on constitutional liberty, equal protection under the law, and individual freedom. Sharia law undermines those principles and is fundamentally misaligned with the values we hold dear as Americans. I’m proud to work alongside my congressional colleagues in the Sharia Free Caucus,” said Congressman Kennedy.

“Sharia Law has no place in America, as it is simply incompatible with the U.S. Constitution and Western civilization. Congress must take this threat seriously by banning Sharia Law, defending our Western values, and protecting our American way of life. I’m proud to join Reps. Self and Roy’s Sharia Free America Caucus, and I thank these patriots for leading on this critical issue,” said Congressman Clyde.

To date, members of the Sharia Free America Caucus have introduced or supported critical pieces of legislation to combat Sharia in America, including:

    • H.R. 5512, the No Sharia Act, which would restrict courts from enforcing any judgment, decree, or arbitration that relies on Islamic law or any foreign system that violates constitutional rights.
      • Senator Tuberville leads S.3008, the companion version of the bill in the Senate.
    • H.R. 5722, the Preserving a Sharia-Free America Act, which would prevent foreign nationals who adhere to Sharia from entering or staying in the U.S.
      • Senator Tuberville leads S.3009, the companion version of the bill in the Senate.
    • H.R. 6225, the Pausing All Admissions Until Security Ensured (PAUSE) Act, which would freeze ALL immigration until the system is fixed.
    • H.R. 6230, the Tehran Incitement to Violence Act, which would designate Iranian clerics who put multi-million-dollar Sharia-based fatwas on the heads of President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as terrorists.
      • Congressman Self introduced this bill, which was passed out of the House Foreign Affairs Committee on December 3, 2025.
    • H.R. 5890, the No Tax-Exemptions for Terror Act, which would eliminate the tax-exempt status for groups, like CAIR, with close ties to terrorist organizations.
    • H.R. 4387, the Muslim Brotherhood Terrorist Designation Act of 2025, which would designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization.
    • H.R. 4097, the Designate Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) as a Terrorist Organization Act, which would designate CAIR as a terrorist organization.
