Democrat Representative Eric Swalwell, the California Congressman who was one of the faces of the Russiagate Hoax and the Democrats’ attempted impeachments of President Trump, has dropped his campaign for governor of California amid a flurry of lurid sexual misconduct charges.
Swalwell, who had a sexual liaison with the implausibly named Communist Chinese spy Fang Fang, already had a sex problem, and the new charges and claims, some of them potentially criminal, were enough for even California’s weird Left leaders to call for Swalwell to drop out.
The New York Post reported Swalwell’s reputation has been in free fall after four women on Friday accused him of sexual misconduct, including alleged rape.
One of the women, a former staffer, claimed he raped her when she was drunk and left her bruised and bleeding during an alleged 2024 attack in New York — sparking a probe from the Manhattan DA.
Another woman alleged she also awoke next to him in a hotel room after a drunken night out, adding he allegedly kissed her and touched her leg without consent, reported the New York Post.
“Influencer” Ally Sammarco, in a report published by CNN, Sammarco alleged that Swalwell had sent her inappropriate messages on Snapchat in 2021, including unsolicited nudes.
Swalwell would also go for jogs in her neighborhood and ask her to come downstairs from her apartment to chat, she alleged. “It made me feel gross and uncomfortable,” she said of the nudes. “I didn’t ask for that.”
The congressman admitted to “mistakes in judgement in the past” but issued another defiant rebuttal of the allegations leveled at him.
However, even Swalwell’s closest supporters weren’t buying his denials. Lefty billionaire Stephen Cloobeck dramatically cut ties with Eric Swalwell and revealed he has kicked him out of his mansion — just hours before the congressman dropped his run for California governor.
“I am no longer supporting Eric,” Cloobeck told The Post in an exclusive interview. “F—ing tell everyone I’m a libertarian. F— you, Democrat Party. I’m a libertarian now.”
Cloobeck spent more than $1 million supporting Swalwell’s candidacy, and the embattled congressman filmed his denial video Friday from inside the billionaire’s palatial Beverly Hills mansion, reported the New York Post.
Cloobeck confirmed to the Post Swalwell was no longer staying with him and added that he would need to talk with his attorney to see if can claw back the $1 million he gave an independent committee supporting Swalwell.
Leading Republican candidate for Governor Steve Hilton told The Post: “Of course Eric Swalwell had to drop out of the California governor race. The question is, why was he ever in it, knowing he had all this going on?
“It just shows you the disgusting arrogance of these career politicians: they have total contempt for the voters, assuming they can do whatever they want and get away with it.”
“Even worse is the sickening hypocrisy of the Democrat elite in California. All those machine politicians and unions that endorsed Swalwell and threw money at him – they knew about his past.” Hilton added: “The Swalwell Stink is on the entire corrupt Democrat machine in California.”
Prior to dropping out Swalwell was all over social media, and his lawyer Elias Dabaie also went onto CNN to try to bat down the claims, saying there may be a conspiracy by the Democratic Party to get rid of Swalwell in order to consolidate Democratic votes in the governor’s race.
Democrats are notorious for “managing” primaries to clear the field for their preferred candidates, so there may be something to the Swalwell field clearing conspiracy theory, but the arrogant sleazebag was brought down by his own despicable conduct, not a political conspiracy by his opponents in the Democrat primary.
Plus, Swalwell’s arrogance and hypocrisy throughout the Russiagate and Trump impeachment dramas put him in a very vulnerable position with the media. Swalwell and fellow conspirator Adam Schiff presented themselves as paragons of rectitude fighting President Trump.
