The Pope’s Embrace Of Islam Fails All Christians

The Pope’s Embrace Of Islam Fails All Christians

In a statement that stunned traditional Catholics, and left Christians around the world bereft of leadership in the face of the greatest threat to the Christian West since 1683 when Muslims stood at the Gates of Vienna, Pope Leo XIV said recently, “One of the values of this trip [to Turkey and Lebanon] is precisely to raise the world’s attention to the possibility that dialogue and friendship between Muslims and Christians is possible.”

With all due respect to the Pope and his laudable desire to foster peace, his statement is not only at odds with the reality of Muslim attacks on Christians and Christian institutions around the world, it is most certainly not embraced by Islamic leaders or most Muslims.

Muslims will embrace “interfaith dialogue” only so far as it advances their goal of converting or conquering the West, otherwise their view is, as one Michigan Imam put it, “Christians are deceitful rogues under Allah’s wrath. They are infidels and don’t worship the same God as us. How can Muslims mix with these infidels?”

What is even stranger about the Pope’s statement embracing “dialogue and friendship between Muslims and Christians” is that it comes on the heels of the recent kidnapping and murder of hundreds of Christians, most of them Catholics, in Nigeria and Cameroon. That jihadi attack prompted his Holiness to issue a statement saying, “I feel deep sorrow”, the Pope said, “especially for the many boys and girls who have been abducted, and for their anguished families. I make a heartfelt appeal that the hostages be immediately released, and I urge the competent authorities to take appropriate and timely decisions to ensure their liberation.”

Finally, the Pope invited everyone to pray that churches schools might never be the target of violence: “Let us pray for these brothers and sisters of ours, that churches and schools may always and everywhere remain places of safety and hope.”

Again, with respect we have to ask, why didn’t the Pope identify the kidnappers and ask for the intercession of Muslim leaders, such as his “friend” His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, to obtain their release?

The answer is that deep down inside he probably recognizes that no such assistance will be forthcoming because to offer it is contrary to the Quran and the teachings of Islam – to say nothing of the fact that any Muslim leader offering such intercession would be immediately targeted for assassination as an apostate by Sharia-adherent Muslims.

We suggest that rather than listen to globalist believers in syncretism, the Pope listen to Fr Brendan Kilcoyne, a parish priest in Balla, Co. Mayo, Ireland, who has spent his career preaching the gospel and defending the faith on the frontline of the Muslim invasion in Catholic Ireland.

“I am in favor of what I would openly call discriminatory immigration, and I mean discrimination in a positive, constructive sense,” said Fr Kilcoyne.

“If it were up to me, I would only permit Christian immigration into Europe… I would only permit Christian immigration into Ireland. I think you can justify that on any number of grounds.”

Fr Kilcoyne, speaking on an episode of his podcast The Brendan Option titled ‘Immigration or Invasion’, said people should be “worried” about the situation. He said they were not being stirred by the far right, but rather could see “demonstrable evidence” of a problem.

He said all that was missing was a “charismatic leader” to ignite the “tinder box” of immigration.

“If that happens, I would strongly advise the mainstream political parties… to grip both sides of the armchair and pour themselves a stiff whiskey,” he added. “Let’s grasp the nettle and deal with the situation and manage it before it gets completely out of control.”

Fr Kilcoyne’s calls for Christian-only immigration, are not a provocation but a survival strategy for a civilization that once took the gospel for granted. In a country where faith once shaped the architecture of daily life, he argues that if people must come from abroad, they should be people who can carry that faith forward.

Fr Kilcoyne is right, the West needs a charismatic leader that will “ignite the tinderbox” and lead the battle against the Islamic invasion. Unfortunately, Pope Leo XIV is not going to be that leader.
